    Welcome to adventure Wednesday!
Today’s episode takes place in Gloucester Massachusetts. Where in the fall of 1991 a fishing vessel known as the Andrea Gail took off for one last run of the season…
It was during this trip that multiple storms converged into one superstorm that became known after this event as “the perfect storm”.
The vessel was lost as sea during this storm and all 6 people aboard including the captain perished in the ocean.
I’m taking you to the on land filming locations from the film since the majority of the ocean scenes were filmed on a green screen. If you have not seen this movie I would highly recommend it!

I've lived in Gloucester for a few years and was even there for the movie scenes. In fact, I was walking that same road almost every day. Went into the Crows Nest about 2 or 3 times a week.

Idk WHY but this is one of my FAVORITE movies & I could watch it over & over…so heartbreaking to even TRY to imagine the fear they must’ve felt when they knew it was over🥺I just got off my 1st cruise & I had MANY reservations about going b/c it was a big ship BUT the ocean will do what it wants w/you AND that boat! God bless their families & friends🙏🏾❤️

Sadly, I was expecting to see at least the outside of The Crow's Nest, if not even the inside, to no avail. Nice video anyway.

@@dalebruce8253 I don't see it, as 8:05 is end of video, but I'm so jealous you have been there. I haven't been to New England for many years, and no longer live in the US. IMO, it's one of the nicest parts of the US. Was it opened to the public like a normal bar, or is it more of a tourist spot?

@@22ergie The Crow's Nest is a real bar on Main Street. However the real bar was never shown or used in the movie. The production company built a temporary building across from the dock, on a loop road called Harbor Loop. Starting at about 7:33 in the video, the studio version of the Crow's Nest was located against the grassy hill just to the left of the large Welcome sign.
As for the real Crow's Nest, yes it is in this video, exactly at 4:51 in the video you see a small white hatchback with orange/yellow/black detailing, just above the car there is a 3 story building, first floor has a brick facade with a small blue sign and the upper 2 floors are white (between the building with green awnings and the yellow building beyond).
As the camera pulls into the parking space, the video shows the building in quick glimpses up till 4:57 where a tractor trailer obscures the view for the last time.
The real bar did have rooms upstairs for fishermen to stay (as depicted in the movie), but photogenically the real bar was not so desired, but more importantly I'm sure the fact Main Street (as you see in the video) was way too busy to even be considered for a street closure to film a movie.

Interiors were shot on a sound stage in LA. At 5:16 the white tent is about where they built the Crows Nest set. You can still get a room there. The bar is more for tourist ... still... I watched a few scenes and met Clooney a genuine guy. The surviving boat the Hannah Boden is around but Capt Linda Greenlaw is no longer a fisherman. Her book “the Hungry Ocean” is part adventure and part “how to captain a fishing boat”. A fast read for a slow reader.
