Powerblock dumbbells, squat rack, barbell, weights, treadmill, and more for $500? Did I miss something in the video? That’s well over $1000 even if he got it cheap and used.
I've been weight training with cardio for about 50 years now. I currently have two gym memberships (I work at one, so I get a free membership) but I have also always maintained my own home gym for the exact reasons you cited. I have no problem with working out alone, but I also enjoyed working out in the company of people who know how to act in a gym (not always the case). My home gym has the exact same rack you have (bought from Amazon during the pandemic lockdowns). I also have a LifeFitness elliptical machine, a bunch of weights, bars, benches, dumbbells, etc.).
Great content. I like that you set up is more minimalistic and affordable compared to other channels and videos. I'm just wondering since you didn't talk about pricing in the video. Is $500 the initial amount you spent since I'm assuming you've gotten more equipment over time? I did see the links to the equipment you bought.
@@UnbearabIe thank you! I didn't go particularly into pricing because It was kind of chaotic. Just trying to buy stuff via retail and second hand. But yes, 500 was the initial amount I spent for just The initial essentials. I definitely got a few more items over time but even then I didn't spend way too much compared to some of these $10,000 in-home gyms lol. To be quite honest, you can probably build a better home gym than I have right now for less than $500 since there's a lot of overstock or people who have decided to go back to the gym and just need to get rid of stuff
Haha yeah I was on the FB group for home gyms and I’ve seen some really expensive set ups that are 10k plus. I have been going to the gym for sometime so I’m not a complete beginner. So I wanted to be able to squat some decent weight. My set up right now probably cost around 1400 with rack, barbell, 300 pounds in weight, flooring, adjustable bench and adjustable dumbbells up to 90 pounds ( power blocks ). If I just went the dumbbell and bench route. Probably could have got it for 500. Also I did buy stuff off FB marketplace.
Thanks for watching! And I've had most of my luck surprisingly on walmart and Amazon where I've been able to get weights for less than $1 per lbs. The 'brand name' ones seldom go on sale but I'm almost 5 years in with the off brand stuff and have had no issues. I recommend adding them to your cart/watchlist to see when the price goes down.
Looks amazing! I love the way that you designed it
Thank you! It's not the biggest area and not the prettiest but it's efficient in what it's meant for lol

Hey fir treadmill breaking down or to keep cost low FB market you can get free cardio machines
Great gym for the price. If you perhaps turn the pull up bar on the power rack upside down, you could perhaps do pull ups as well.
thank you! and i might give that a shot the next time I do maintenance

Can't you just flip the pull-up bar upside down to make it usable?
How do you train back tho? I can only think of two or three exercises with this setup
i do bent over rows, pull downs, rows, dumbell rows, theres lots of options.
Where did you get the free weights. Everyone i talk to about buying weights charges $1 a pound or more.😉
