I had the privilege of meeting Dean Lao because my company provides B2B support to theirs. Super downb to earth guy. What I respect most is how their employees are treated. Many Filipino Chinese-owned businesses are run like sweatshops but not theirs. DNL is highly professional and is at par with any multinational in terms of culture and presentation.
They are run like sweatshops. Because they are struggling to survive and they are not rich like you want them to be. You discriminate small businessmen. Someday they will become giant like SM and you will pretend to be friendly to them. From small acorns grows the mighty giant oak. Always true and proven. It takes 30 years for a small business to become medium size business.
I know sir Carlos Chan personally is indeed a very humble and generous person and his business acumen is worth commendable.
I am a witness how humble and very shy si Carlos Chan. He is my Mother's high school classmate in Arellano University in Pasay. I always had a chance na makasama sa mga lakad nila like Baguio and Christmas Parties. Pati mga anak nya napakababait. He also takes care of his classmates pag may group tour sila na all expense paid trip including pocket money. Kaya naman binibless siya ng todo!
