    Really appreciate your demonstration of the sequence. Your comment about keeping the right or trail knee held back just a bit as the downswing begins, then moving the right knee over the ball and then having the right knee naturally come up next to the right knee as the club makes contact and the wrists release is super useful because as an 81 year old, even though I have played for 60 years, I have been struggling to make a good turn. It is all too easy to fall into kicking the right knee out toward the ball, which is a recipe for standing up, early extension, flipping and of course shanking. The chest up in both directions, the left and right eyes down positions, and the left shoulder up high are also really helpful. I actually like watching your swing, which seems very smooth yet with a lot of effortlessly generated speed, more than that of the other pros.

    Collecting at the top is so important for synching up the body and mechanics for the downswing. But people are afraid to do it because they’re worried the ball is going to move or someone might steal their ball while they’re swinging!

    Just got back from the range I go to and wanted to say THANK YOU for the set of fundamental swing movements and sequence you are showing here and in many if not all of your other videos (think I've watched about a dozen in the past two or three days). It takes a bit of work to get it down since you have to at first think through all the positions and stages, and occasionally can really get one wrong and totally embarrass yourself. Or leave out one part like the forward shift through the wall or getting the left shoulder up high, and hit a shot but not the good one you want. But then there come three or four swings in a row when it all comes together and miracle of miracles the old body and mind get it pretty close to right. B+/A-. And then the reward is to see really nice high straight shots with the feel of sweet spot contact (I play traditional forged blades with weak lofts) and no forced strain. THANK YOU. For sure I've now got the incentive to keep viewing and keep practicing.

    Wow...the right knee in for a right handed golfer is huge!!! It's like creating the letter K with your body. (Backwards K!!) When I push my knee out towards the ball to begin and lift my right heel up my shoulders and club immediately going over the top. I have been struggling for this for years. Sometimes I do this "K" move inadvertently and it feels good but I had no idea what I was doing. This feel would then disappear and I would slice the ball or pull it ...or if I was lucky enough bend my spine or save it with excessive hand movements. NOt very consistent. Thanks from Canada. I am playing tomorrow and see how it works!!!!

    I got some gold for you. It's maybe something you could talk about in a future video. If you look at Rory setup he has a reverse k and then coming down into impact he also has a reverse k. K is a good visual for the body and something amateurs do not get into

    As another well known instructor says: let the club levitate at the top of the backswing.

    Great content but here is where I get confused. You have both a driver video and iron video. So to be clear where are you arms located on a driver? Are they ahead of the ball or behind the ball?

    • @CraigHansonGolf
      @CraigHansonGolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks.. you mean arms? I’m not sure how to answer that if you mean arms. 9 mean your right arm is always behind the ball and left is in front
      as there such a long way apart from each other.
      Or do you mean hands?

    • @Lou0830
      @Lou0830 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CraigHansonGolf sorry for the confusion. What I meant to say was hands ahead of the golf ball while using an iron promiting a steep angle attack to compress the golf ball.. While using a driver, the hands in my experience or have been told would be behind the driver head at impact so you have a square face as your hitting up into the golf ball. Does this make sense?

    I've got lateral hip movement from the top, keeping hip depth with it is the biggest problem I find.

      @CraigHansonGolf  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@stephenmiddleton8158 the point of failure is not the butt leaving the wall
      Most times it’s golfers that cast the club to much in the downswing they early extend as a result. It’s most times a unconscious move ..
      Fix the point of failure and golfers get a positive chain reaction in there swing…
      Have you filmed your downswing in slo motion? Have you had a swing analysis off a leading coach?

      it’s because a lot of people hit it better in practice and and poorly on the course. Especially under pressure.
      That’s the meaning behind the video. Creating better rhythm under pressure.
      I mentioned this id the video. Definitely wasn’t trying to upset anyone i’m sorry it frustrated you so much.
      Definitely wasn’t my intention.
