Since oda said next generation. I think snk should age up the main heroes of kof like how Capcom aged up ryu, ken, guile, etc. For sf6.

my assumptions for the season 3 is probably going to be Goro Daimon, Shen Woo, a new character to promote Fatal Fury: City of Wolves and a curveball at us of a guest character that isn't from other SNK Games.

Besides, Oswald was in 14. So were Vanessa, Angel, Geese, Rock, Whip, Blue Mary, Yamazaki, Heidern. XV also looks better than XIV so, they could make Oswald look great too. But who knows.

Well, I know SNK did Team Pass1 and Team Pass 2, then a season 2 individual character dlc along with Boss Challenge characters, but I would love that they make this season's dlc to be 3 individual characters and a Team Capcom, not SF, but Capcom. Idk what does everyone think? Tbh, if there's a Team SF we'll get Ryu, Chun-li, and a third popular SF character, which I think most would love, but I think it would be a wasted opportunity to not use 2 other characters from the other Capcom IPs. But that's just my opinion...
So with that being said, this would be my wishlist:
Season 3 option 1:
- Team USA - Heavy D' (new design with iconic Mohawk + new moves), Lucky Glauber (New Design, similar to kobe + new moves), Brian Batler (New Design + new moves)
- Team Maximum Impact - Alba, Soiree and Lien
- Team NGBC - Yuki, Fuuma, Kaede
- Team Capcom- Ryu, Talbain, Mega Man or most likely Team SF - Ryu, Chun-li, Luke or Guile or Sagat or Akuma or M. Bison or Zangief.
Season 3 option 2:
1. Shen Woo
2. Wolfgang Krauser
3. Jhun or Maylee
4. Team Capcom- Ryu, Talbain, Mega Man or most likely Team SF - Ryu, Chun-li, Luke or Guile or Sagat or Akuma or M. Bison or Zangief.
Of course we can't forget the boss challenge: Krizalid or Igniz

This might be wishful thinking, but I'm really hoping for Team Maximum Impact (Alba, Soiree, Lien) and to a lesser known extent, Team Gaudemus (Jamin, Hauer, Panni) from Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture.
With all this focus on Fatal Fury lately, and Masami Obari having some involvement with KOF15 early on, it would be insane if they actually announced the latter team as a way of not only bringing awareness to Fatal Fury again, but potentially get people to check out this movie that's arguably one of Obari's best works...
Or they could be predictable and announce Team Street Fighter as part of Phase 2 in the road to Capcom vs. SNK 3.
Either way, fans on both sides are eating well.
The problem is that the current SNK apparently has issues with the KOF MI world and refuses to accept the chars in the mainline games. I have no idea of the reason for that but the devs just repel those chars.
That was notable in the latest games, the way how KOF 14 made a huge roster and went for very random choices like Nakoruru and chars from SNK Pachinko games, and added many newcomers... And still refused to put someone from MI. And KOF 15 even explored the implications of the KOF 14 ending that altered the universe, added even Samsho chars (that I don't dislike but they truly have nothing to do with KOF)... And still nothing from MI.
So that's why I'm convinced the current devs still maintain the same attitude of excluding MI. Look how we are right now: KOF is most likely about to receive a guest from a different company, and still SNK excludes chars from a specific SNK game.
Here is list of Season 3 DLC:
1. Shen Woo(everyone want him so ok)
2. Akuma/or Ryu from Street Fighter(Maybe?)
3. Krizalid(of course, Free DLC, also Boss Battle featuring him)
4. Marco(Ryo's Student)
5. Seth(i want his new voice)
Me? I expect the rest of the '94 cast including the US Sports Team, Saisyu, Mature and non-omega Rugal since 2024 marks the KOF series' 30th anniversary and all.
Hope they add Mr Karate and Shen Woo. Would also be dope if they add a Shin Akuma Boss Battle and have him be the crossover character. Hell, just give me CVS3 while they’re at it

Maybe Next generation of KOF means the next generation of consoles
Next "generation" of KoF could just mean next saga, because the Shun'ei arc is officially concluded. But it's probably also a good time to shuffle the mechanics a bit. This could be a good time to bring back tag mechanics, because none of the current big franchises are doing that. Either that or Art of Fighting should do it before someone else grabs that niche.
Personally I would like to know what SNK plans on doing with all those ADK properties they went out of their way to acquire.
SNK has done very little with them.
Yeah that is a real question. SNK only used them once for NGBC. I wish to see those franchises being explored somehow... but to be totally fair it's a problematic situation, because KOF's already grown to such a scale that we have average base rosters around the 50s mark and there are still strong feelings about missing chars. It's very hard for KOF to address all different segments of the SNK universe and build a roster that looks satisfying and "complete" enough.
Like, KOF's mission as a crossover type of game is to cover all SNK pre-existing franchises like Psycho Soldiers, Ikari Warriors, FF and AOF (and weapon games like SS arent mandatory but it's appreciated), and more precisely the different internal segments of these mentioned franchises like classic FF and MOTW, classic AOF and Buriki One. Meaning to represent the company's legacy and each franchise' history through those roster choices. And lastly represent KOF's own original chars, that only grow in every game. So how to build a roster with choices from all those segments and in a balanced and fair manner? That became very difficult since the 00s.
So in that context, when people are already angry enough with some chars stealing spots and not letting certain segments of the SNK universe to be properly represented, imagine the community reactions to the addition of a World Heroes char? Someone who many KOF fans dont care about (the people who grew under the KOF rule, when it was already the main SNK game and WH was already dead).
That's why i was thinking about the idea of SNK making a new "All SNK crossover" (like the idea of those mobile games) as a 3d beat em up game for consoles, and that game can assimilate World Heroes. That idea was reinforced by the recent news of SNK's initiative of exploring different genres on consoles. So that started looking like the most immediately practical solution to me. Because reviving the actual World Heroes franchises as a fg in the 2020s is a true waste of money. Still, a big part of the WH roster is charismatic enough and capable enough to work well in another genre.
It is nice to get this confirmation from him. Thought the next generation of KOF has me wondering where will they go with that. Cool video Nabil.

Secondly, SNK is adding SF6 modern controls to the upcoming FF, so they are making sure not to miss out on the trend.
So i've been wondering if the next KOF, in order to look more welcoming to the outsider and grow in sales and average playbase, and stand out more in this very competitive period in the genre, will simplify parts of the core gameplay like GGST and maybe switch KOF 14/15 autocombos for "modern controls" as a accessibility feature. (I'm honestly hoping for that because autocombos are way worse in my opinion)

Mh.. It depends if SNK uses Season 3 to make teams out of the previous entries from Season 2 or if they will be Single Entries too...
Regardless, here's my Top 3 Pick:
-Botan (Those from the Past have been teased so much during the previous storyline that it feels shocking there has never been a team of them)
-Krizalid (Let's get one NESTS representation for the Boss Battle Mode)
-Shen Woo (Miss him)

@brentwalker173 Brother, same! 😮💨 since the game released in 2022 I've been begging on my hands and knees for them to put Vice in the game! I really thought they were finished with their last DLC character, but hearing that there's gonna be a season 3 is good and well received news. Hope has been restored.

If they implement an update that adds streetfighter six like modern controls, that will be huge for new people like myself and for the franchise in attracting new people.

But KOF already has autocombos... and even worse, forced autocombos, not even optional. So the accessibility feature quota is fulfilled. If there was no autocombos then i would say modern controls is a reasonable idea. I really find it better than autocombos.
I'd rather have tag team battles, even if stuff like ES moves and Max Mode have to be cut.

Played kof since kokf95 but stopped at XII and on, due to it's similarity mechanic of each series. Also it's never aging baby face rosters make it worse.
I did play a good chunk of KOF XIII after I lost too many Call of Duty MW3 (2011) matches online, and I kinda liked the former. I stopped playing modern KOF once XIV dropped, and that made me want to play more Call of Duty and get better. (Man, when will my main Kasumi return?)

I’m shocked he said this, specially in an Interview with one of the not so friendly content creators but anyway.
I really thought this game was done. Snk has had a pattern of dropping support for their last game, if their next one is coming soon. So I’m surprised they intend to support KOF XV longer.
But realistically, they have no súper popular characters left to sell a whole pass. XV base roster already has all the cool ones. And they just ran out of popular ones within the last dlc. I can only think of Krauser or Shen Woo. You’d have to bring either Maximum Impact characters, or Street Fighter characters to sell a third pass, along with 2-3 characters like Kasumi or Shen Woo.
I love KoF, and have been a fan since 96. But I ain’t paying 30 bucks if their next pass is…Daimon, Kensou, Takuma, Chang, Eiji and some forgotten AOF dude like John Crowley. Even the sports team wouldn’t make me buy it.
I bought the first dlc pack for Rock and Jenet, and Orochi Shermie. The last pass I Bought it for Kim and Shingo. Those are actual superstar characters.
So, only a Maximum Impact team or a SF is making me buy. If it’s gonna be some jobbers or level F characters, then I’m not interested haha.
Kof 16 should be either tag or striker or both at the same time, also the combo structure needs a rework cause is too sameish and a bit lazy and take out just defense and make players go out of their shield instead of just hiding on normals all the time, and ex moves should be removes, they were fine on 13 but I don’t like them as much in 15.
Give me Xiangfei and I'm good.
