I think she was a tortured woman who had to be a certain way to survive. I mean she did witness the death of her husband first hand, imagine the trauma. She also had to endure so many public humiliations with his constant infidelities. I think by the time she betrayed her sister, her heart already grew cold and hardened by all the grief and pain. And by the time she married Onassis, she learned how to protect herself. What do you guys think?

I believe that Jackie was of a different breed to most of us - most likely, she was born into some wealthy illuminati family and used as a Tool by the powerful men around her. Being intelligent, she simply used them back.
I don’t find her attractive or admirable. She was an ambitious woman who had money and status on her mind . Her entire family is cursed because she was involved with the Mafia (Kennedy klan)

Ethyl raised her kids - all 11 of them-- without knowing how kids should be raised. She was wild and her kids had no rules, and that's how you get a killer like Michael .
Tie in to the Kennedy family: treatment of women. The Kennedy Skakel families treated women terribly- and the ones they couldn't throw away , they killed. To wit: Michael Skakel, Ted Kennedy (Mary Jo Kopechne ), Marilyn Monroe by a Kennedy or Kennedy yes man; Careless accident? John F Kennedy Jr (Jackie's son) and his wife Caroline Bisset Kennedy, rape conviction of another Kennedy cousin at Gramma Rose's house in Florida--- don't bother committing suicide, just date a Kennedy.
The Skakel family like it o r not is forever tied with the Kennedys because of Michael Skakel murdering the pretty girl he wanted who didn't want him- and Aunt Ethyl Kennedy.
Blood is thicker than water. Ethyl brought the Skakels bad blood into the Kennedys.
You might think it's "not fair" -- killing Martha Moxley wasn't fair either, was it?

He was showboating her and she couldnt atand lyndon. She indulged him a few times but wanted nothjng to do with him.
Lyndon was quoting as saying "iv slept with more women on accident then kennedy has on purpose". That was lyndons attitude. Women were to be used and he wanted to use jackie. He think he was attrzcted to her aloofness.

The part where his fathered allegedly offered her money to stay even if he brought back *DISEASES* disgusted me….I find it so misogynistic that she was blamed for his death, and all the other negative press “defaming” his image while she was the one staying down w him throughout all the turmoil. • @Gigi1111Layna

Jackie married for moneyband prestige. Though she truly loved Jack and he her, it was absolutely 💯 known and accepted in those families that the husband would have mistresses. Her own father did, Jack's father did..his brothers did, LBJ had many and so on. She married Onassis for money as it's well documented that he was reluctant and indeed regretted marrying Jackie. She went through a horrific thing with the assassination and yes she was very strong throughout. But privately, maybe listen to the phone call between her and LBJ only 2 weeks after the assassination and listen how she flirts with the actual man who is responsible for JFK's murder. Jackie knew the risks and loved her husband, and no one should suffer having to gather their husband's brains up. But Jackie held on very well to his mistresses by taunting them when they would call or she them.

As awful as it is, elite circles have a lot of darkness within, which most are raised in and it is normal to them.
I babysat for someone’s step grandchildren, who was on the crew flying her plane during the presidency. Apparently, she had her own affairs. He was threatened in no uncertain terms to not go public with what he was privy to. Of course I can’t verify this, as it was one person’s account. But knowing what I do about how the world works, I believe it.

Lee never slept with the president. Only Jackie was so low. Lee sleeping with the president is a rumor started by Lee's jealous ex husband who was repeatedly humiliated by Lee. Their mother left Lee a large trust fund before her death in 1989. The trust, in addition to the 2001 divorce from Herb Ross, which left Lee at least $19 million wealthier, she was more than flush with cash for the remainder of her life.

@@willmartinez5496 had Onassis lived longer, he most likely would've divorced Jackie. All she wanted to do is spend his money, jet set and be in New York socializing every chance she got. Not long after marrying her, he took up with Maria Callas again. I believe Onassis is the one who set Jackie up to be photographed in a scantily clad state by paparazzi to have her images splashed across tabloids worldwide.
As Onassis was in Paris, on his deathbed, Jackie didn't even pretend to care, nor did she try to get on the first carrier headed for Paris. She remained back in New York amongst her elite set, waiting for her chance to get her hands on his money. Afterwards, she fought with Christina Onassis over the estate. Once Christina stated her highest, final offer, an embittered, greedy, angry Jackie still felt entitled to a greater share of the estate.

I knew her and most of the social circle who surrounded them in the WH and her afterward. My former boss Charley Bartlett (who you mention)and his wife Martha introduced her to Jack at a dinner party at their house; were in the wedding and Godparents to John. She loathed being called Jackie - all her friends called her Jacqueline. She knew about his cheating (all true) and was not at all happy about it but as a Catholic did not believe in divorce her Father cheated so she figured it was par for the course. She was rarely at the WH as first Lady preferring to live at their house in the Virginia horse country. She was close to Bobby after the assassination but they weren't having an affair. When he was killed too she wanted out of the US and Onassis was her ticket because he could give her a level of privacy no one else could. He was no longer dating her sister Lee (considered the more beautiful sister) and was still in love with Maria Callas. Jacqueline's happiest years were with Maurice.

Picky? Strategic is the more appropriate word for what Joe Kennedy about most things. In the US Catholicism is not the major Christian sect, especially among society circles. The fact that Jackie was Catholic was also a priority for Joseph Kennedy, as well as her French ancestry, which he considered higher class than their Irish one. The Kennedys had been shunned by high society, despite their money, so marrying someone in Jackie's position would be seen as advantageous.

She was a racist. Didn’t even want to call the black woman who designed her Wedding dress saying when a reporter asked who designed her dress she replied “A colored woman dress maker” . 😒

I really wish people wouldn't say V card... Its so stupid and infantalising. Women don't lose anything when they consent to sex for the first time. Its not a 'loss if innocence' how ridiculous
