Thanks so much for this collab, I had so much fun during and of course upon release to see your creative process. I love all the details you've added throughout and especially the hedges 'hugging' the diorama is awesome! Onto the next one! Much love ❤️
I think my favorite part of Chantals Scene.. which I absolutely adored and I literally just watched the movie two nights ago.. was what she did with the tea bags..so creative! 🥰🥰
You're so freaking creative This is pretty cool and I learned something. I just watched Dr. Sleep last week and had no clue it was related to The Shining
The pink on the walls is like that pink that’s used in institutions because it was scientifically calming, but it’s actually so cloying that it drives people mad
In my very small college town there was only one slumlord for young people to rent from, and he was famous for buying excess institutional paints, so everyone I knew had at least one such pink room, we called it Steve’s pink. Never again!
The infamous Shining carpet pattern is called "Hick's Hexagon." I carry a copper MOLLE clip with this pattern etched onto it on my work bag, to remind me all work and no play makes me a dull boy.
Totally awesome. I remember reading The Shining. My first book by Stephen King. It totally scared me to death! The movie was good, not quite as creepy as the book, but bad enough! lol! So, your project was a complete success with me!! Love Raven's too. You both are terrific! Applause!
I love how you don't just copy a scene but find a way to think about the bigger picture. Making it an abandoned site and using the hedges and snow was inspired. I love what you did here.
The detail in this is so impressive! I hesitate to ask how many hours it took... My favourite horror film has to be The Babadook, tied with Saw. Aussies know how to do horror 😁
I love how your mind works! An exact replica of the room would have been great, but for you to revisit it when Danny was grown and the room had decayed was AMAZING! I love that there are nods to the movie that aren’t really in the room in the scene and finishing the diorama is genius. The Big Wheel actually made me gasp! So perfect!🙏
Oh my! This concept is genius. So clever to come up with this idea. To bring the hedge, snow and elements from the whole film(s) to bring it together but not detracting from the fact that it is definitely referring to that specific nightmare scene. So creative!!
This is stunning. Your video exemplifies the work and effort that goes into making such dioramas, that are widely admired and adored. It's easy to look at a finished product, but seldom is the talent that goes into making it noticed. That requires a whole new level of innovation. I especially love when you played "Midnight, The Stars and You" as the camera zoomed in on the ballroom photograph ❤️ That completes The Shining, for me
@@BentleyHouseMinis You're welcome. I look forward to future videos, seeing as I am a new subscriber You and me both. That song will forever be synonymous with The Shining
The shining is such an iconic Stephen king film and your diorama makes it look like it could be a miniature scene the filmmakers made before building the set. I love the snow aspect to it as well.
It turned out so beautiful! I love the abandoned take on the room. It's just so amazing. It's so funny how an old project like piping a gingerbread house can lead to the exact perfect technique you need for another project!
Spackling the wall corners is such a great technique. The curtains look so good. Pinning them while drying is so clever! I hadn't thought of that. The whole concept of putting the room into the mind-space of Dan from Dr. Sleep is super creative - that's a good one, A. The spackle/white sand snow combo is, once again a great technique. I've said it once and you'll probably hear it over and over from me, but I always learn so much from your videos. Thanks, and Happy Halloween!
Every time I have tried to watch this, the phone or the doorbell rang so it took me a while and I was so fascinated by the details that I got up at the crack of dawn to watch it again. This is an amazing scene. You really outdid yourself. The hedge is a great frame for the whole project. Now I have to find a few minutes to watch the shining again. Loved seeing your last step, too. Darkest Raven did a great job, too.
Your diorama fully captures the spookiness of the movie. As always, I am amazed at the amount of detail you are able to incorporate into your projects. I was really looking forward to seeing the results of your search for realistic snow and you got it!
I haven't been here for a while but, you're not only Amazing, you have a magical mind! That's why you're my fav, and the first mini creator I adore! Mwaa. (SpiritualCasino)
This is such a fun, scary diorama! I LOVE the details on the bookshelf and the dresser! My favorite are the small accessories you put on the dressers (SO CUTE!) The way you were able to make the door angle to the mirror in order to see "MURDER" was perfect! Love, love, love this!
This diorama is definitely a great snapshot of the movie 🎃. It’s one of my favorites too. My absolute favorite tho however is Winchester. It’s based on a true story. If you ever get a chance I highly recommend and if you like it I can definitely see a dollhouse diorama of the Winchester mansion in your collection lol 😂. Absolutely awesome job on this! You are AMAZING.
Oh My! This is awesome! I love how you were able to take different scenes from the movie and turn them into a time capsule. I feel you nailed it with all the ironic shots :)
Thank you Candi! There was so much I wanted to include that at one point I was afraid I would have to build the whole Overlook! The awesome minis from Tiny Keyhole Minis really helped encouragement to put many references in a small space😊 I am so glad you liked how it came out!

Loved this collaboration ❣️❣️ Both your scene from The Shining & Chantal's diorama are fantastic👍🏻🤩👍🏻! Thanks for another great video with some excellent tips just like Chantal had in hers😄❣️😄
This whole thing is just incredible and I’m so glad I found this video! It was so peaceful to watch! This house looks like a haunted house in some horror movies.
Wait there are shoes in every finished project? Now I want to go find them! 🥰 Amazing job! You keep inspiring me to add new things into the dollhouse I'm making for my newborn. I'm aiming by her 2nd birthday to have it completed... She's 5months now hahahaha
Well... there have been some that I have forgotten to put the shoe in. However they are also ones that I haven't finished the outside either😄 That's going to be such an amazing gift when she is old enough for it!

Oh, this is fantastic! I love that your minis are so evocative of the full-sized reality they are based on, while keeping it accessible and, well, whimsical. And keeping the mini _The Shining_ copy removable, while making it seem like it's as stuck in the snowdrift as everything else, is just a stroke of genius. Thank you for sharing your process with us.
Absolutely love all the details and little tidbits you put into this diorama. The snow turned out looking really great! The lighting you used to capture your cinematic closeups sets the perfect mood. Seems so dark and dreadful. Perfect for Halloween! Now the question is, where and how will you display your creation? Do you have designated shelf space?
Thank you Phil! I am really trying to push being creative in my video production as well as my miniature creations. I am slowly getting there lol! I bought a case for this diorama because I know cleaning dust off those hedges and snow in the future will be a nightmare! No idea where I will put the case though😄
