AQ (ak) means white. Qara (kara) means dark or black. AQ all the way

23:27 - Reloading the game to remove nation from the coalition, will only work if it has more than +50 opinion regardless of the AE value. In your case Mamluks had -200 so they didn't leave. AE lower than -50 (or positive relation) prevents from joining the coalition in the first place but does little to remove the nation from one.

Here's how I see it. If you want a stronger start but harder expansion take Qara since they have a larger army with two vassals but they are Shia in a Sunni area so AE will build quicker. If you want an easier time expanding but a harder start then take Aq (although they get Uzun Hasan a great ruler and general) since they got a much smaller army but are Sunni. If Tinto gets around to actually giving Seljuk/Rum a mission tree then it'll make the formable more worth it.

I think it's a miracle that they added the Seljuk Empire cosmetic change in the first place since it wasn't initially available with king of kings. Doubt we'll ever get more bcz of eu5

Being less than 50AE means nothing if the tag isn't also at positive relations OR you're powerful enough that the coalition just dissolves anyway. I'm not sure about the mechanics behind the second, but it has happened to me plenty of times over 6k hours.

Something cool you can do as qq/aq since you're tribal you can reform into a horde and take horde ideas for more cca and cav ratio then reform again if you want their unique govt reform.
