I installed the update but had not used it yet. I like the fact you can turn off the sound and extend the fan run time. Those are some of the things i had said i wish we could change when i got my s1 about a month ago on other channels. Glad to see those. now if we could just impot Adobe illustrator files directly.
What I don’t get is xTool has the camera feature for the S1 but why can’t they make it compatible with the D1 pro. You can with with light burn … something tells me it could be programmed to work with other cameras . Or am I missing something.
The S1 uses touch probe and not cameras. Since the D1 is a manual operation it couldn’t be retrofitted for the touch probe. I highly recommend the P2 which has the dual cameras.
Good video, thnx I use xcs now for a few days with the new S1, great!! One problem I can’t find the grid, vertical and horizontal lines in the work area I only have a white blanco work area on my screen Can you help ?
In your example with the live edge wood circles, can it focus each one separately (because we all know they're different thicknesses)? They made a lot of improvements, but a nice camera would be so much easier and a lot faster.
For the different height pieces you can separate them by layer, but these pieces were well within the tolerance to have nice engravings on all of them. I don’t think the height differences would be drastic enough to worry about that unless you’re talking about 1/8” difference. I agree a camera would be easier and faster but not as accurate for most cases. Thanks for the comment and question. 👊🏼
@@VoeltnerWoodworking That centering update would be very helpful! one thing I thought would be a great addition is if you're doing a batch of items on a whole sheet of product, and you select say 10 items that the software could position them for less waste
The only thing I'm currently missing in XCS is the ability to batch engrave serial numbers. For any other thing, Lightburn is way worse, you can't even open the laser lid for framing, doesn't focus right and you need different speed and power settings compared to XCS wich also has pressets for almost every material. I wish I could get a fully functional machine with at least one of them...
XCS does provide the ability for all of the functions needed by most people, but some of the custom options in Lightburn like batch engraving numbers would be nice to have in XCS. I agree.
Just wanted to let you know that your thumbnail is FIRE it perfectly illustrates their new update! I am taking notes ; )
hahaha. Thanks Chad. If only the CTR would reflect it. Oh, YT...why do you do me like this? LOL!
Your videos are informative and easy to follow 👍
Thank you very much!
Awesome Matt, I learned a lot here.
Sweet! You're already doing some incredible stuff with your xTool S1 laser! Excited to see what else you come up with.
I have just started using My S1 20W. Thank you for putting this video out!
Such a great machine, isn’t it?
@VoeltnerWoodworking Definitely! Working on wedding stuff for my daughter as we speak!
Have “fun” on your Disney cruise. Great video!!!🎉
Thank you!

Those are definitely welcomed updates.

I believe it's default for the updated version. Are you in 1.7 version? Also, are you on PC or Mac?
@@VoeltnerWoodworking thnx
1.7 version on a iMac, reset won’t work

if you set it as curved rather then flat maybe?
these types of wood circles are flat.@@markburton5292
Cameras have a mm or more tolerance (especially when batching). Accuracy with pinpoint has higher potential.
A well calibrated camera can do better than that. Either way, I would never buy a xTool laser. Enjoy!@@CowsGoMonkey
Nothing really for the M1s?
Not in this update. What kind of features you looking for the M1?

@Pa_Dave that would be a great feature!

Auto snapping should have a quick switch on the main work area rather than opening a sub menu.
That would be nice for sure
