I love how the Dung Defender's theme is in more of a major key vs the other bosses that are a little more in a minor key, so it shows that the Defender is actually not really a bad guy.

It’s actually in the Dorian mode, which is between the Ionian and Aeolian modes (Minor and major keys), since it has a minor 3rd like the minor scale but a major 7th like the major scale
Ionian being the major mode and Aeolian being the minor mode, I forgot to mention that

this is the only boss that I have beaten so far on my first try. And it was FUN. I don't know how to describe this.

Great extended song, I like how its a real extended not just like a 5 second gap of nothing, and it playing again. This is one of my favourite hollow knight bosses, I'm surprised this doesn't have that many likes!

That's what it means to make an extension. Many more just press "repeat" in Audacity for 15 times and call it a day. Those foolish people are making a loop instead. A creation utterly useless, since you can loop music in music players and TH-cam for free, with the same result. Extension, however, doesn't stop until the end.
@@garr_inc When I streamed two days ago on my twitch while working on an extension, I always explain to viewers how I actively make sure not to do a fake extension. where some people copy paste the track in their editing program at the end of the first track and basically repeat the same process for an hour or so (which is still quite popular). Instead, I just show where and how I make sure loops may seem seamingless. Though of course, I cannot do that with every track in mind, but 95% of my work so far has been nearly non-noticeable! ^^

In some compositions it can be harder than in others. But eventually it can come down to copying the segment and repeating it several times. Except the segment itself is very precisely cut to clean up the cut.
Or it can come to fade out that doesn't conflict with the beginning of a track. It's not always simple. Which is why I am always happy to see someone else doing the proper extensions.

I think his armor is supposed to be tarnished or rusted, kind of fits how long he's been guarding the border and that he's kind of beyond his prime.
Maybe the White Defender is a representation of how he was before Hollow Nest fell, since he's stronger and his armor is shining bright.

More than a fight, it feels like the Dung Defender wants to play with you.
I love how heroic his theme sounds, the grandiose feeling contrasts nicely with the dung that makes up the arena
they made him into a heroic warrior that never stopped believing in his king and his kingdom even tho both of these thing are basically memories at this point at least I can play with him in his ball form untill he shoots into the stratosphere for some reason giving me a charm that basically smells like turd and turns my children into living and exploding turd somehow lowering their contact dmg at the same time
Just fought this guy and beat him first try, most fun fight in the game hands down, was humming the theme through the whole battle.
EXACTLY, he may not be the hardest fight but hes the most fun fight in the game just because the theme is such a bop and the guy just seems so genuinely happy throughout the fight
@@TiredTabbs Not only that but there wasn't a thing that was remotely unfair about the fight. He was so consistent that your overconfidence of memorizing his moveset was on you.

One of the few bosses where fighting feels less like a brutal combat and more like a good-natured match.
He's a big jovial bug with a heart to match, but ultimately hides a tender solemnity that shows only in his dreams.

The theme and battle are so good, I won 5 times against White Defender, and I STILL wanted more.
I played Shovel Knight a while before, Hollow Knight the whole area and boss gave me vibes of the water level in the submarine in Shovel Knight

I usually do extensions of either games or animes. To save up edit time and space I put the two together with a slash ^^
Basically I either extend an anime, or a game. So I save up time by just putting Anime/Game instead of having to edit the description everytime to the specified category. However, newer videos have the name "Source" now ^^

I'm playing hollow knight finally without see nothing of the game and i get to fight him and i enjoy a lot his fight, his joyful voice and the track, and very happy to defeat him woithout kill it! I loving this game

we had a ton of hollow knights at in my group at camp this year, and we'd CONSTANTLY yell "doma doma domadomadoma!" eventually our counselors just started yelling that to get our attention. good times
Oh my gosh, it takes me back. About 30 minutes when I was dropping the kids off at the pool!
I can't listen to the Hollow Knight OST because I always end up listening to this whole thing instead or putting the track on repeat.
It makes sense that a dung bettle would be such a powerful knight, just look up how strong they are....
This song along with his fight just made it feel like a joust, a honorable match between two important figures of hallownest. As it went my smile just grew and I thought “this is just fun!!”

I can't believe this was the one guy I beat on the first try! The White Defender is a different story, though... and to soon realize the dung defender wasn't actually a bad guy just seems to fit this theme, as well.

For me, this was an easy boss fight for me just because he didn’t seem that intimidating

Easily the most fun fight in the game and it felt the most low stakes, like it was just a gentleman’s sport and nothing more unlike other boss fights that felt life or death or as though the outcome would forever decide the fate of hallownest. This fight was a breath of fresh air, just genuinely fun and made me laugh and smile
