    Taking the CELTA part-time sounds like a good option for many, but lots of students ask me just how is it to do the CELTA course this way.
    However, I took the course full-time so I cannot fully comment on it, which is where talking to Helen comes into its own.
    In this interview, we covered lots of topics related to the CELTA part-time course, and Helen shared her thoughtful tips and insight with us.
    We get into many topics such as the following:
    Getting into the CELTA part-time schedule
    The best bit of preparation she did for the CELTA course
    Tips for anyone thinking of taking the CELTA part-time
    What she’s been doing since graduating
    And much, much more!
    Now over to you Dash are you thinking of taking the Celta part time? If so, do you have any further questions that aren't covered in this video? Leave them in the comments below and I will do my best to get back to you!
    Remember, the CELTA part-time is still a CELTA, meaning it is still an intensive and busy course.
    Make sure you choose the right course for you and you will get through it!

    PS I highly recommend audiobooks through Amazon's Audible app as a way to stay sane while taking a CELTA course or other studies. I say this as when I am studying, I often don’t feel I have any time to read for leisure or fun, which frustrates me in a big way! Audiobooks have helped me to get back some of that leisure time as I still have the mental energy or capacity for an audiobook when I might not otherwise read.

    Thanks for this, Steve! So timely, as I will be staying my CELTA course in February (2nd February 2019). I will be doing the blended/online course which is a 12 week course.
    I found Helen's testimony to be so useful - particularly as we are of a similar age. The things that I will take away from this interview are: it's hard, preparation is important (but not too much!), focus/time management/dedication, do the pre course tasks. Thanks so much for this, I'm sure that I'll be revisiting this video.

    I thoroughly related to this lovely lady. I have just started the part time full online CELTA course. I would rather have had a blended course online and face to face course but due to Covid-19 restrictions this is not possible. I was also an ex RGN , practice nurse, then music one to one tutor, foster carer and currently a learning support assistant. I am totally feeling like not carrying on as I am really struggling with the online aspect of the CELTA teaching observations and teaching practice, I enjoy the online learning but get completely stressed with Zoom and IT skills that I need as well as trying to focus on the learning and teaching. I am way out of my comfort zone and it has really dented by confidence. I will keep going as I am hoping that , like Helen it will start to click and I will learn to not overthink! Thank you so much for this video.

    I am about to start a part-time in class taught CELTA course 2 days per week over 10 weeks. My issue is that I have Dyslexia and my memory and spelling is going to be a issue for me. Do you have any advice or tips on how I can achieve passing the course and how I can implement strategies for my teaching practice? Many thanks Rachel

    Hi, Hope you are well. How many times in a year can we do CELTA fromBritish Council? And someone was suggesting me the books of Michael Swan to prepare for the certification. Which books should I consult? Please help!

    • @CELTAHelper
      @CELTAHelper  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Kimi. Good question. I know that, for example, if you are not accepted via the interview, you have to wait 6 months to apply again - I'm assuming the same would apply for taking the course. But I should tell you that there is a 99.5% pass rate on the CELTA so, once you are on, you should be fine.

      As for books, Swan is good. Here are my other recommendations: celtahelper.com/books-prepare-celta-course/

    Thank you so much for posting this video. I am from India and I am planning to do it part time from Mumbai. I would like to know if doing CELTA intensive has more importance than CELTA pat time? Also, is it written on the certificate that its intensive or part time or blended? Please help.

    • @CELTAHelper
      @CELTAHelper  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kimi. There's no difference between the courses and there is only one certificate - you can see an example here goo.gl/images/J8Ura2

      Hi thanks a lot for your reply. If you could please help me with 1 more thing. I am confused between CELTA and Certtesol. What according to you is better in providing better job opportunities or if they both have same standard? Please help

    • @CELTAHelper
      @CELTAHelper  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kimisingh7816 I only really know about CELTA but others have confirmed that they are both of the same level in terms of qualification. However, I think CELTA is more widely recognised in certain places in Asia and possibly Europe, from what I've been told.
