Not that I’m being picky but it’s a colorsound Bum fuzz (C.A. Bumfuzz is the cheapest pedal in the range) on the record that my mate Danny makes at D.A.M. Here in sunny Rotherham He’s also the best guitarist I know and his music can be found @6needles but you couldn’t closer Jason

Is there a way to tone it down a bit
You can get them on ebay, £350 or £500, I'll take a couple. Any thoughts on what might get us somewhere near there, prefderably from Joyo or Donner! Nice video anyway.

Did he explain that it was recreated with this pedal, live?
No, I never got a reply. I assume he went into the desk but with the pedal mentioned by Big T in the comments:)
@@thejaseguitar From what I heard - originally there was no pedal...the unique sound came from overdriving the preamp on the desk itself!
Hence the challenge to recreate.
Great to walk us through it all. I hoped to cover it at our Community Music event, but it was a bit too much to pull off at the time - will have another go at some point, so very helpful.
Listening to subsequent interviews etc, it's obvious that his wife was the 'girl' of the song - who later saved his life by her devoted care...and the income primarily from this song has been a major sustaining factor in their lives...

The section played from 0:19 to 0:37 (same riff played three times) should be chords played through a 'phaser' effect not single notes. If you watch Edwyn play this live you will see him play chords (although I don't know what the chords are). Single notes are an easy to play substitute, but don't sound right.
Obvious these are Cm-B-Ab-G-F-B-G straight from 8 fret to 1 and back to 3. I prefer to add quarts below single notes with 2-string barre, if all goes through distortion sounds acceptable.
@@petrdyakonov8220 Not quite so obvious I'm afraid. Someone far better than I has explained it properly here: th-cam.com/video/AWkzs7qINL8/w-d-xo.html The sequence is actually Cm-Bb-Ab-Cm(alt position)-Fm-Bb-Cm, but only the top4 strings are played.
