When the food at a buffet is not even labeled, already a red flag 😮
A couple of stations had labels written on the glass, but not all. I think somebody just didn’t do their job. Thanks for watching!
A agree about the red flag. I’ve never seen that before in a buffet. Poorly organized.
I don’t eat meat, so I’d have no idea what I could eat. I’d just get my money back and go elsewhere honestly.
As long as the food is hot and there is plenty of selection, I won't complain. If I don't like something, I don't eat it. It's a better choice than a $20 breakfast bagel at Fontainbleau food court, not including drink.
Precisely. Comparatively speaking it is not expensive. Thanks for watching!
You are correct about the loss leaders being removed. They were replaced with players cards, player databases and tracking play. The real gamblers don't pay for the buffets or meals, just charge it to the room and it's all comp'd at the end of the stay. If you don't gamble, sure, be prepared to pay up for everything!
thank you this is the first honest review ive read in a long time😊 vickie from las vegas
I really enjoyed your Luxor buffet video and the Atomic Golf one as well! Thank you for your honest opinion and not following the prevalent expectations of all things Luxor. After this video and the previous one about the Luxor property in general, I plan on making the Luxor my destination when I visit Las Vegas again.
Love super slow-mo syrup pouring!!! 😊
With the high cost of a basic breakfast in a fast food joint or a restaurant on the strip, a buffet like this can make sense especially when it includes your beverages. For me breakfast doesn't have to be gourmet, and there you have plenty of choices. These days a breakfast sandwich and a coffee can be very pricey. If you choose wisely I think the Luxor buffet is fine.
Agreed. Thanks for watching!
Surprisingly adequate! Love it.
I really like you spend more time actually trying the food not just showing the buffet. Just found your channel new subscriber😊
It’s a fine line, there are a lot of people on both sides of that equation. Welcome aboard, thanks so much for the sub!
Couple of things to add. If you use the MyVegas 2-4-1 coupon, two people can eat for $17 bucks each. This coupon is now restricted at MGM, Luxor, and Excalibur and they will not allow you to use the coupon and charge the cost of the buffet to your room. Was the omelet station not open? The made-to-order omelets are very good. When you can get a good omelet, and good coffee for $17 each that is a deal. When you throw in the rest of the unlimited food (good or "not too bad") this is a heck of a deal.
The omelet station was open, I just forgot to include the footage since I didn't eat from it. On a BOGO deal this buffet is a great option. Thanks for watching!
Where can I get the Vegas 2-4-1 coupon?
It is one of the rewards, if you play the free MyVegas game.
Good review as always. I’ve had the buffet once. That “not bad” button was about as spot on as you could get.
Thanks for the review ... you sure put away some food!
I got LUCKY on the Prime Rib. Something like 17 years ago.
I was there a month ago. My family really enjoyed it. Also the theme decorations are very cool. Get a BOGO buffet with the My Vegas App
I am on a diet and I must say that this is awesome
I loved the slow motion pouring mode. A mimosa every 5 minutes $16.99 count me in 💯
Back to year 2012, my friend and I stayed at the Excalibur for a few days, and they had a deal for both buffet hotels to eat for like $40 each within some window and we did lunch at Excalibur, then dinner at the Luxor… they were pretty much the same buffet, just different ambiance.
MGM buffet was horrendous when I ate there last summer. Look forward to your review
I've had it, just not since about 2018 and it was much different then. Looking forward to trying it so I can see how it stacks up to Excalibur and Luxor! Thanks as always for watching!
the one thing i did like about this.... he self serve beverage. that mmight be a turn off for some, but considering other buffets take forever to refill your drinks, this is a blessing. ps. i was at the luxor back in the 90s. never thought it was a bad buffet
Huge thanks for another excellent video.
I honestly think this is very acceptable and I certainly wouldn't be disappointed eating there. It's all about the context the Luxor always seems to be compared against in TH-cam land. Then again (and ignoring any myVegas vouchers!) it's all about cost and for the money paid, this honestly isn't a bad deal.
I have to admit though, they REALLY need to label those trays - they need to remember that tourists, especially those from other countries, would damn well expect this!
I'm looking forward to a 2 week holiday just North of Atlanta, this August and we'll be including a 5 day stay in Vegas at the Luxor. Coming from Scotland, my usual holiday locations include Spain, Portugal, Italy and Turkey, amongst others. Most of the 'touristy' resorts in these countries pretty much all come from the same rubber stamp (except for Italy). Buffet-wise (excluding the very top/expensive hotels), the Luxor would be well placed.
But, of course, going to Vegas isn't about the hotel you sleep in!
As your neighbor in Kentucky, you know better than to pour the gravy over the top of the biscuit! Just busting balls. Great vid!
That’s how we do it here in Missouri! Smother that biscuit…
Thanks for watching!
@@ShowMeVegas, I'm with you! We smother the biscuit in Wisconsin too!
I think real maple syrup is actually runny and the high fructose corn syrup stuff is thicker. I doubt a buffet at this price level would have maple syrup.
Love your channel and content, thanks!
That’s probably right. Although I’ve had plenty of what seems like watered down syrup before, so that’s what I was thinking of. Thanks so much for watching!
I enjoy the Luxor buffet, although I have fond nostalgia for it. Of the two, I prefer the MGM to the Luxor, but possibly because I like to go sit in the poker room for a few hours after eating at the buffet.
It looked pretty good for the price, especially, for “Vegas”. Great vlog content again.
Thanks as always!
It’s funny but the coffee is quite good! I usually use the myVEGAS bogo and get omelet, bacon , make a yogurt pafait and have coffee here. Nice video….i guess i need to try the chicken legs! for me for 17ish with the bogo luxor buffet is indeed not bad lol
I was shocked by the coffee! This buffet is definitely a great option if you’ve got the BOGO. Thanks for watching!
Did my Vegas reduce the amount of redemptions to three in a 30 day rolling window? If yes, that’s terrible!
@@bronsonrueda1497 its always been thatforpremiums. I dnt mink its changed for regular rewards. Buuuut ill update when I gon in 3 weeks if so
Samurai Hawaiian Frost is very popular in Hawaii 👍
What flavor does Samurai taste like?
@@ShowMeVegasit’s like a creamier shave ice, maybe an ice milk combined with various shave ice/snow cone syrups. The flavors I get at my local supermarket include Orange, Coffee, Strawberry Melon, Strawberry Banana and Strawberry Vanilla.
The blue one is Vanilla flavor - the vanilla syrup used in shave ice here in Hawaii is usually blue. I would love to try the Chocolate Samurai Frost the Luxor has.
The counter cracked me up every time it dinged.
😁
I used to like the breakfast buffet, but in January I actually asked for a refund after I saw the old, marginal food . They gave me a refund but said I couldn't return to my table and sit down, which I weas happy to do!!
Lol I love the "not bad" counter. I enjoy when a creator is self aware of their quirks. It bugs me to hell when episode after episode a creator says some phrase or over unnecessarily and doesn't pick up on it. The insight shows why you guys are the best
It was impossible to ignore during the editing process. It really just goes to show what my preconceived notion was coming into the buffet. I was evidently surprised at every turn by how “not bad” it was! Appreciate the feedback as always!
@ShowMeVegas hey if I ran a buffet in Vegas people were considering awful but the in person takeaway was "not bad" that's a win in my book!
Yes, Jordan; We DO Believe It When You Say The "Hawaiian Frost" Was On Your Plate! 😄🤗🤣
Overall, not too bad²¹
I have been to either in 2 years, but then Excalibur was better. It wasn't leaps and bou ds better, but it was better! It was cleaner and better stocked!
That chicken looked really good.
Not ""too"" bad / It's not bad / surprisingly adequate!! 😂 Let's put that on their website 🤣 I don't have the appetite to eat more than one plate of anything so boofays just aren't my thing. But I like that they offer lots a variety. Like a giant weird sampler platter. Great, straightforward overview. Thanks for the video!
Always appreciate your support!
I started going to Vegas in it's themed years, decades ago, like MGM had an amusement park out back ago, and I miss those themed resorts. So tired of Resorts World/Fontainebleau places. I bet if MGM updated Luxor and Excalibur to a mid-top tiered level hotel... it would thrive!
We like the themed resorts, but we also like the new properties. There’s room for both! Thanks for watching!
I would agree with your review on Luxor buffet…never had a bad experience even though most comments I hear or not good…so I too am going against the general opinion out there
I have a syrup litmus test: Real Maple Syrup = Pass. All other maple syrup replacements = Fail.
Number one rule stay away from the salads and the breads as well as the soups go for the meats and the seafood. That’s my philosophy on buffet eating 10 one and keep a little bit room for that chocolate moose at the end.
Had a BOGO for Luxor buffet through MyVegas app. Decent for the BOGO price but definitely not the full price. Don't see myself going back though.
$33 for that buffet id way too high
I always use the My Vegas BOGO reward for the buffets at MGM properties, then they are worth it to me. I wouldn’t pay full price for any buffet in Vegas. Luxor has a nice selection and variety. Set your expectations before you go..I mean it’s a buffet, not 5 star dining. 😊
Agreed on all points. Thanks for watching!
They are building a baseball stadium across the street . Luxor needs to step up their buffet or close it . The Luxor buffet use to be good .
The buffet is better next door at The Excalibur, in my opinion; same price too. The dessert section is far superior at Excalibur which includes a sugar-free section too. Thanks for the video; the food at Luxor didn't look "too bad." :)
The dessert section is far better at Excalibur, yes. As for the rest of the food, this time around I found it to be better at Luxor all-around. Thanks as always for watching!
For this price its alright, no super good quality but you get what you pay for
Yeah, as I said toward the end, the price is pretty normal for Vegas in 2024. It’s practically the same as a single entree and a coffee at the Pyramid Cafe. This buffet wasn’t great, but it was definitely adequate. Thanks for watching!
This week's video....not bad.
😂
That syrup music sounded like porn music 😂😂😂
31.99 for in some cases nasty looking food. I do understand that at the in house cafe it will run nearly 30.00 for breakfast. My ratings based on 'appearance" scale 1-10 Pizza-2 Waffles-3 Blintzes-2 (that was an apple blintz on your plate), scrambled eggs -5, Bacon-5, Selections at Carving Station -4 , Seating--9 (looks kind of private compared to most buffet seating Dessert- very average 4.5 Yes The lLxor is the same as it always is..Overall rating 4. What's shocking is the MGM Grand Buffet isn't much better.
Despite how it may have looked on camera, the food was pretty decent. Thanks for watching!
I think MGM Grand, Luxor and Excalibur are all “The Buffet” - perhaps the same central kitchen at one of the 3?
No, that would be a logistical nightmare. They operate independently.
@@ShowMeVegas I like the ambiance of the Luxor buffet -- MGM seemed like cold brunch, and Excalibur has a made to order crepe station. I usually get a 1/2 price deal with my friends MGM card -- so I don't expect too much.
No, each property has their own kitchens. They also prepare food on site for their employee cafeterias.
i tried 12 years ago it was just bad,i went to vegas 2 years ago and stayed at mandalay and tried for the second time just because my friends wanted to tried it out just CLOSE THE "BUFFET" PERMANENTLY😷🤮🤬
Hey, not bad 😂
I Iiked the Luxor Buffet better than Excalibur's.
Same here, which is not what I was expecting. Thanks for watching!
Who the hell pays $30. For a buffet I never have
Compare the price of the Luxor buffet to the price of a single meal at the pyramid cafe! The Luxor buffet is sufficient enough to fill ya belly for a day
I did just that at the end of the video. Thanks for watching!
@@ShowMeVegas left my comment before finishing the video I have to say too the pyramid cafe is awful!
Bananas why the heck would you eat one at a buffet?!!! Totally to fill up your belly
Same thing with bread! There's a sucker born every minute!
6:36 R rated syrup pouring. Close your eyes kids.
🤣
I would rather spend the $30 or more for better food. This buffet is not appealing at all. Sometimes less is more and better tasting.
I never like buffet just because I can never eat that much, to make it worth the price.
With any kind of discount it becomes a good deal. But as I mentioned at the end, a single entree and a coffee would cost almost the same at the Pyramid cafe! Thanks for watching!
circus circus mught have them beat on worst, lets see
Not brave enough to try that one!
My friend works at his buffet and he tells me he puts his boogers in the food on a regular basis.
Your friend sounds like a real winner...
And u hang out with these types of disgusting people?😮
F*** the Luxor… that is all
Well ok then...
Looks awful
