  • I ate the most expensive steak at Gordon Ramsay Steak at Paris Las Vegas. We also ordered the British onion soup (like French onion soup with Welsh rarebit), heirloom tomato salad, saffron risotto with diver scallops, and sticky toffee pudding from the Gordon Ramsay Steak menu. Gordon Ramsay has a different version of sticky toffee pudding at every one of his Las Vegas restaurants.
Gordon Ramsay's Las Vegas restaurants are Hell's Kitchen at Caesars Palace, Gordon Ramsay Pub at Caesars Palace, Gordon Ramsay Burger at Planet Hollywood, Gordon Ramsay Fish and Chips at the Linq, and Gordon Ramsay Steak at Paris Las Vegas.

I am a chef and adore cooking all steak types to perfection.
Huge steaks = more char/sear is needed outside to get the inside cooked to the proper temp. Also, the thicker the steak, the less you taste the seasoning/salt, because they only season the bark of the steak, not the inside of course. And considering both of those points, a good steak sauce, such as the peppercorn sauce served here is normal and desirable, for both the nessesary seasoning and moisture profiles.

I got the beef wellington when I was there last... I wasn't impressed. Partially because I'm not in to baked meat, but it tasted like banquet food... it didn't taste cooked to order. Since it's the specialty of the house, they probably make 3 or 4 at a time, IMO. The GR Vegas restaurants are more about brand recognition than taste/value. DALLAS must be one of the steak house capitals of the world along with NYC and Las Vegas.. there is the $7.99 steak special at Ellis Island and several top tier steak houses. I like the medium tier steak houses like the Circus Circus Steakhouse and Oscar's at the Plaza.
Golden Steer on West Sahara is excellent and a bit pricier .

Hi Derek. You should have ordered the Japanese A5. You would not have regretted it. A5 is the highest possible quality rating awarded by the Japanese government. A5 is the highest grade given only to the finest beef. The standards of grading beef consist of Yield Grade and Quality Grade. “A” of “A5” means the yield grade, while “5” shows the quality grade. The Beef Marbling Standard (BMS) determines the rating based on how much marbling is present in meat. The greater the degree of marbling the closer the ranking moves up toward 5. There is also the Beef Fat Standard (BFS) that determines the rating by the color of fat. The highest grade has glossy white to deep cream colored fat. The Beef Color Standard (BCF) determines the rating in accordance with the color of the red meat. The final standard is “Firmness and Texture” and the ratings for this standard are determined by the naked eye and touch. A5 is THE top grade.

It would be so out of place of a well know establishment like this would not know how to cook scallops. It is so easy. Seafood in general is so easy to cook. Don’t do it long unless you are smoking it. Or if you want you salmon extra crispy in the oven. That’s it. I think it’s just seared well.

That’s absolutely NOT TRUE! I never understood that ridiculous philosophy! There are a few other seasonings that, sparingly, are phenomenal on steaks & take the flavor to a whole other level! Garlic, Basil & Rosemary. Try the seasoning they use at Longhorn for example. It’s so damn delicious it would make A SHOE taste good! BTW, (if you ask your waiter, you can buy a small bag for 5$). I put it on my steaks at home, hamburgers, potatoes & French fries. It’s the BOMB!!!!!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

@tureal jones He's saying in his opinion it's all that should be needed for high quality meat(though he didn't specify that I think that's what he means), low quality tends to need more but it can cover up the complexities in higher quality meat, like wild game or grass-fed beef. Grain-fed beef fat is pretty tasteless where grass-fed is softer and way more complex, more flavors in the meat too so I can see why some even like it totally plain. When steakhouses overdo seasonings there's usually a reason why, it's suspect. A really high-end steakhouse that knows what they're doing isn't going to blatantly overdo seasonings, but it's still risky because it's hard to know what the customer is going to like and everyone's palate is a bit different.
By far my main staple food is 80/20 grass-fed ground beef cooked medium or less, I cook 2lbs at a time(lasts ~2 days) and just eat it cold and plain(maybe Redmond's Real Salt), it's so good. But supermarket ground beef would be awful that way and no way would I trust under-cooking it where some is close to raw I'd totally brown it, the fat would be waxy and tasteless but even cold the rendered fat of grass-fed is still pretty soft and the taste is really good plain. He's not telling anyone else what to do so calm down lol. I love people who act like others sharing their opinion is somehow oppressing people.
I doubt he really cares what you do with your steak, by all means have it well done with ketchup if you like that, but I see why people think it's a bit ignorant of people to do certain things with high quality cuts of meat versus low quality. I guess it's also worth noting the more you add to a steak that's already complex and great on it's own, the more can go wrong, it can be difficult to get what you use and how much of certain things right for balance aside from risking covering up a steak's natural complexities, with low quality meat that's the whole point. High quality salt happens to be a great flavor enhancer too so it's not just adding it's own flavor, it's really hard to go wrong. I can totally understand the more advanced and experienced chefs experimenting with seasonings of course, or just trying something different if your diet is close to carnivore like mine, I do sometimes. I love mixing sauerkraut in the ground beef.

Plus my steak came with potato au gratin and veggies and soup or salad. I could go back six times for what you paid for one steak. There was two of us (NY Strip/ Fish-n-chips/ 1 soup/1 salad/ 2 soft drinks= $42) Great meal. Ice cream on way home ($10)=$52 total. We could go out to eat five times for the price of this one meal or buy groceries for a month.

I'v lived in Vegas for over 21yrs and my former "room mate"(Pal)works here,so I've considered visiting him a few times while working, but after seeing this vid¬ being particular impressed with what I've seen,Maybe not!!
,And 2b honest I just can't see myself spending that amount of $$$$ on a meal (it really would have to be a VERY special occasion)and there are plenty of alternative choices in this city(as far as dining out is concerned)
.I think GR is eternally dining out on his name&brand with extortionate prices..And that's my Rant!! Take care&stay well👍

Should have just gone to the Longhorn Steakhouse. I had their Outlaw 18oz Bone in Ribeye and it was awesome, came with a baked potato and a tasty salad all for $27!

The rocking back and forth while reading the steak says it all.
