I'm just building a tackle box sized one of these for my engineering class and this video gave me some good inspiration on the design. The "no knot" design is a great idea!
Great stuff guys. What I'd like to see is if you could also measure the diameter. It's too easy for a line brand to sell a heavy line but label it as light in order to impress users. But, as you guys know, line diameter is critical to vertical presentation in current.
Yes Capt keep the vids like this coming! I hate that we can’t even begin to pronounce the name, but that’s about all you can afford these days, especially if it compares even closely to the way over priced brands we all use! I would like to see two test, one without knots, and then one with them, as it will always have knots in it when fishing real world👍 Melloreel
We'll do it! We're going to be doing a TON of these line breaking tests on many, many different lines and knots.. Pass along the word, we appreciate it! Fish on!
Podczas moich testów z wagą wędkarską żyłka pęka zawsze 10 cm za węzłem, dlatego że tam ulega osłabieniu przy zaciskaniu węzła, nie można za mocno zaciskać węzła, pozdrawiam z Polski
Awesome video!! Definitely would like more videos like this , a braid video of best knots and or strength of a few. Gonna subribe and keep an eye out for future videos. Stay safe
Thank you for the feedback! We're going to keep these coming, no question! We're thinking 1 or 2 each week easily, since there's so many brands, and so many knots to test.. Thanks again, fish on!
@@bottomfishing24-7 I've got a 18ft deep v sea nymph and to be honest it's been a cpl yrs since I've had it out fishing, I'm gonna try out some trolling this season and need to refresh my memory alittle bit. Wanna say thanks in advance for the good info.
That was pe 1.5 (35lb)strength without a knot. It was probably labeled as pe1 (25lb)because it was tested with a knot, which would be the weak point. We need to test with knots to be realistic.
Yes sir.. Cajun is very good mono. It just doesn't break. One of our next couple of videos will be breaking strength of Cajun 30 and Cajun 50 lb mono. Stay tuned! We appreciate your support, fish on!
Power pro is a lot thicker than other braid lines. The whole point to using braid is its thinner and next to no stretch. These characteristics are the only reason to use braid, paired with the newer carbon fiber rod you can set the hook way faster than mono and glass fiber rod. I got some shimano grappler line and its almost thinner than line half its lb strength. Yes I played a more for it but it's not a standard setup and it's rigged for high current and deep water. My local bay area has a massive bowl shape about 80km round, the entrance is only 5km wide called the rip. All the water in the bay has to drain through that narrow choke point. It's like fishing in rapids and it's on average ~80m deep there. We have fished it for many years even with mono and sinkers 5oz. Plenty of videos on it it's a very interesting place.
Thanks for your comment. Good suggestion for a future video, we could cover that under knot breaking strength. This video is only about its Title, the breaking strength of the line, and if the line holds up to their label claim. Fish on!

Ty bro! I changed my mind on getting 30 lbs braid now im getting 20-25lbs braid ty
Glad you got some useful data from the video.. Thanks for watching, fish on!
Got a source on that PE1?

Thanks for your input! We'll definitely look into that as the winter season approaches and we start breaking line again on the stretcher. Fish on!
Good vid. I think I will give this stuff a try.

Crash, let us know if you need help with anything or any tips.,, 🤙🐟
Would a longer line yield different results?🧐
In fishing rod line weight mentioned 20-40 lbs ..it means rod can deadlift 9-18 kg above on water surface?
Cant find this string with the same dimensions and labeling? Did they change the packaging or specification?
Wait is this bottom fishing 24-7? And your captain for bottom fishing 24-7? Also that’s a certified “amazon Crane” scale?
please try the kastking 10 and 12 pounds..

There should be knots because that’s how it actually goes. You’ll gonna do a knot in order to use them.
Test 20lbs suffix 832
34 to be fair
👍
Love the red cajun mono that stuff tuff and cheap

Yeah I can't pronounce that brand name either LOL
30 pound power pro is the best. It will handle anything. 😂

Power pro 30lb is the weakest braid ive ever used
You should be testing knots though because thats real world. line strength is negligent if it cant handle the knot strength.

I want to know the breaking strength of the line first. Then I can test knots to see which one is best.
Labeled breaking strength means nothing. If a line is labeled as #20 and breaks at #30 it is #30 test.
Dude, clean your fingernails if you are going to make 2k people look at them for 7 minutes. Otherwise, nice video.
Do a video on how to pronounce it! lol
@Tj Cheek 😅😁
It broke right where you rubbed your dirty little figures
