As an iranian, I completely respect how you Swedes act and behave towards and I love your culture, manner , ideologies mentality and everything else. also, I see you people are too cautious in everything and every situation but as long as I'm an introvert person and love same qualities as you mentioned like punctuality, clarity, being straight or direct, being humble and so on ,this country probably is like a heaven to me. just I wish i was born as a Swede. lucky you..👍👍🌹🌹

I write from Northern Italy! First and foremost, I am watching several of your videos and they are very well organized, pretty simple to understand and really fun!!! I am trying to learn Marie Fredriksson's lyrics in Swedish and, consequently, I have really come to love Swedish as a language!! It has a very musical sound and this works very well in songs, which not every language succeeds at!! So far, I have learnt a song titled "Medan Tiden är Inne", of which I have memorized the Swedish words and the English translation and your videos have helped me expand on what I have learnt with this first attempt!! Another one that I'm working on is the very famous "Sommartider" from Gyllene Tider and again, learning the lyrics and then watching your videos is a very fun way to practice!!
AN IMPORTANT NOTE ON THIS VIDEO: in Italian, the word "fika" (pronounced in the exact same way) has a TERRIBLY different meaning!!! 😅 I burst out in laughter when I first heard you pronounce it because it caught me by surprise!!! I'm sure there are Italian words with an identical sound that can be misunderstood in Swedish too, which is normal in practically every language!! You probably already knew this curiosity if you have Italian friends or contacts, but I write it again just in case you didn't know it and wanted to have a laugh (and I think someone else who knows Italian will notice it too)!!
However, thanks for your videos and for the way they introduce newbies like myself to Sweden and its very interesting language and culture!!! Best greetings from Northern Italy!!! 😊

Actually, I do tend to make friends with foreigners more than most people; partly because I'm interested in other cultures and like meeting people with a different experience or perspective than the one of grown up with, but also because I tend to feel like an outsider in the world in a general sort of way, so I'm empathetic towards people who feel like that for whatever reason. But, being on the other side of it now that I occassionally have the opportunity to travel internationally, I feel very awkward BEING the foreigner in a social interaction because I'm not 100% sure what is expected of me and wary of unknowingly violating some social code I'm not familiar with.

I am Italian and I think the "Swedish cold and reserved" is only a group of people from the Stockholm area. I lived in Stockholm for 6 months and I was struggling to make friends. After Stockholm, I moved to Gothenburg and I made my first friend after one week, and after three months I had a big group of Swedish friends. And we still are after 3 years :)
Swedish people are very social and very empathic. They are very talkative and loud (more than Mediterranean people). I always felt at home here in Gothenburg.
I think it is just about stereotypes! Are Swedish people cold and reserved? No, only Stockholm people. Are Italian people warm and open? No, only people from Naples.

Thanks for the video 👏🏻 so informative and funny. As a Chilean living in in Sweden for almost 5 years I have to say that it’s been particularly hard to make locals friends here. So different to South America where you talk to everyone and make friends even while waiting for the bus. I have been inside all of my neighbors homes in Chile and here living 5 years I haven’t come in any of my neighbors apartments. That was really hard to believe. But as I spend more time here I’m becoming more and more Swedish that I even look through the peekhole before I get out of home 😂 so I don’t meet anyone (who really do not want to meet me either 😅)

"Diskutering" Is a way to avoid difficult subject, like for instance failed Swedish immigration policy, unfortunately similar behavior has been adopted here in Finland. In my opinion problems should be solved not discussed about indefinitely.
