JJK's animation is easily some of the best in its class. Sukuna v Mahoraga is easily in my top 3 best animated fights of all time.

Go watch Karna vs Siegfried in fate apocrypha 21 I think, that whole episode is what this episode was supposed to be in the first place, they had many of the same animators on both these episodes, but they had more time in apocrypha.

Small detail that I always thought. was funny from the original and the blue ray edition is at 2:29 When you see Mahuraga Jump on Sukuna, You can see that he’s actually using his severed leg as a weapon to push sukuna down the building.
Def one of the best animated fights of all time and this can't even be an opinion but a fact

I didn't even calibrate wtf was going in this remaster. No hate to the animators, but if they had more adequate time to draw out their ideas, then it would've looked a lot better (instead of a bunch of smeared lines, shapes, and special effects). Yuji vs. Choso was the best fight this season. In fact Yuji vs. Choso is one of the best fights I've ever seen period.

Ohh fr even with the old gen shonens. Sukuna really reminds me of madara when he first appeared. An absolute menace who just does everything he wants following his own ideal. Hope sukuna won't end up being butchered like madara with the kaguya bs but reading the manga now its kinda going that way sadly.

80% of these scenes are pure creavity of the director & animator squads. The fight in manga was more simple and only lasted couple of manga panels. Just imagine in S4 with Gojo vs Sukuna. Their fight lasted for 13-14 chapters.
Tbf 50 percent to 70 percent of each chapter was just the gang talking about the fight so more like 5 chapters but still alot
The animation team is doing a great job with the fights in JJK. It's one of those shows that's best watched in anime form unlike some others (One Piece, OPM, SpyXFamily) where the manga is overall better.

@@rayz7899 the anime kinda "animefide" certain characters like the mom/assassin. For me the anime just feels a bit cringe sometimes with certain character expressions, while in the manga you don't feel it as it maybe just takes 1 panel etc.

People really forget that Megumi deciding to throw in the towel on his life by summoning Mahoraga was what really caused Shibuya to get obliterated. It's doubtful that the amount of destruction that occurred would have happened if Sukuna didn't feel the need to defeat Mahoraga to save his BFF Megumi.

But this extended version / directors cut is beyond insane. All of the new parts and added details to existing parts fit so well and was amazing to see the animators' full vision finally released.

Megumi had no reason to expect Sukuna to come to his rescue other than a vague feeling that Sukuna was active. Mahoraga would have disappeared as soon as the blonde dude died but Sukuna saved him as well. Yes part of the blame does go to Megumi for summoning mahoraga but there was little to no reason for him to expect this to happen at all

People are talking about sukuna but ain’t nobody talking about the fact that megumi summoned a creature that only Gojo and sukuna could beat just because he ain’t wanna get plunked by blondy. If you ask me he should have the biggest punishment because at least for sukuna, Yuji had no choice in the matter
megumi couldn’t have known this would happen because normally mahoraga would have disappeared after killing haruta because the ritual would have ended but because sukuna manifested and saved haruta at the last second mahoraga was able to go on a rampage

This is kinda my problem with new gen anime Animation goes hard but I felt nothing with this fight it was extremely long but I felt nothing emotionally no stakes no nothing just great animation as mid as Demon Slayer is even their fights gave more emotional impact and story talking then this fight I wish they went this hard for the Yuji vs Mahito fight
Everyone knew sukuna wouldn't die since he's one of them main antagonists. It's just to show how powerful he is against an enemy who could adapt to anything. Really cool animation tho
Well it's the main villain fighting a strong opponent. Not really much emotionally you can get attached to. Not every fight should have emotional stakes. We already saw that with the mahito fights. No one cares about emotional stakes in a fight between Frieza and jiren😂

Sorry but solo leveling IGRIS > Sukana vs. Mahoraga THEY DID IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME without it having to be done again and didn’t need 17 episodes before the fight was shown animation was coo but was rushed and the poor animators were overworked solo leveling had the episode done b4 hand 💀💀
Production wise, yeah mappa fumbled hard af. Quality of animation? Nah. Igris fight wasn't 1/3 the length of the sukuna fight. Great fight, but there was 1000x more work in this. And it shows.
