Get your skates on with your land clearing mate. Under your new federal government you'll likely find yourself in a situation (like we do in Australia) where you won’t be able to remove many of the trees etc on your own property. That may seem crazy but trust me, it did here to once but now it's reality, and legislation can be implemented very quickly. It's different for big business of course, but property owners really struggle to get the required approvals etc.
Plan for the future. 50 years ago, my wife had me save all the trees I could. Now I have about 70 trees that are 80 ft. tall all around my house and any one of them could destroy the house in a wind storm and I'm 76 years old. Believe me, I do VERY little chainsaw work now. Not by choice. I'm just saying.
Get yourself a logging company to come in and give you an estimate for what they'll pay you to log those trees. You might be sitting on nice little nest egg. Make sure any contract includes them remitting the ground to lawn qaulity. All stumps and roots removed holes filled in and graded out. Do a background check on them including contacting others they've done work for. You can have your county land inspector come in and recommend what trees are best to harvest and their basic value.
Plus absorb CO2. Fruit trees are even better at it, storing it in their fuits. If you don't want to collect them, you let them rot, they enrich the soil and feed wildlife.

Looks like the shipping container shop yard is pretty close to the edge of the road I would've cut a little entrance there for ease of access and then you don't have to drive by the house every time you're doing something machine/work related.
The value of equipment is first judged on hours used. People trade in their equipment while it still has good value. Most of our jobs were six and seven digit contracts. So we included a new piece of equipment for each contract. It kept the operators and mechanics happy.
generally what we do around here is strip your top soil about 2ce the width of your road and then pull your clay from the swale into the road bed then push the top soil back over your swale, that way your road bed ends up at a higher elevation than the surrounding area, helps the snow blow off the road and stay clear also helps keep your sub grade from getting overly saturated and have good drainage. that's going to be a wonderful place for a home .
there really isnt enough fall here for much of a swale. I will cut some very small gutters more of less on the edges eventually. good job for the grader.

Isn't it odd that we humans love watching someone else work? We don't ACTUALLY want to do it ourselves but sitting on our asses and watching someone else work is oddly gratifying. Unfortunately I actually have work that needs done now, we had a BIG wind storm come through with gusts well over 50mph and it dropped 4 sections of our back fence (which is over 100 feet long) and so now I need to pull all the fence boards off of those sections and save what we can. It was actually bad enough that it tore one of the facia boards off above a window on the back of our garage and snapped the 4x4 red cedar posts off that were holding the fence up.. I guess it's time to bite the bullet and use pressure treated wood because soft wood just can't hold up to the wind. It wasn't even rotten it just snapped them off a foot under ground. It's still a couple hours before sun up though so I will sit here and watch this for now so I don't wake up the birds sleeping on our back patio. (they sleep in the Bower Vine) You should cut that cherry and sell it. People love making things out of that stuff and it's not too common to find on the market. How cool is it Matt to be operating heavy machinery that we all probably played with toy versions when we were kids? Again, this is the reason myself and many others subscribed to your channel because of you never know what you'll be doing next and the diversity of projects you work on. Keep on keeping on Matt👍🍻✌
thanks!! I did indeed play with plenty of these in my sandbox as a kid! now the toys and the sand box have gotten a bit bigger!!
