The pendulum of the seasons has swung back to “Bloemendaal Fishing” and I can’t wait for more! Thanks for the shout out. I’m hopeful we can get you into something lithium-wise that makes life easier for years and years to come.
If you wanna learn from my mistake here is a tip. I have 2 batteries in the back of the boat, both lithium. The “house” battery is not heated. I was on Sak the am of the 21st and it was COLD. I figured the house battery can still discharge and run the graphs in the cold. The problem is that the Verado CHARGES both. So the low temp charge safety kicked in and locked the battery up. Battery was locked all morning til it warmed up. So if ur lithium batteries are not heated DO NOT try to charge them under 32F. That includes the charging from ur main motor.
@@jam206AR thanks for sharing that! That is an excellent point. Until I get a heated house battery, I think I’m going to carry some hand warmers or something of the sort in case of emergency. My house battery compartment barely fits the battery and is tightly packed in the space and should be able to be brought back up above the 25 degrees my Ionic battery needs.
Just got my first trolling motor and went with the fiunie 100 ah Bluetooth battery off Amazon. I figured I’d take the gamble for under $200 shipped, there was also a video on TH-cam of a full discharge test and it did pretty well. If this holds up, I’m gonna grab another one to double up amp hours. Excited also to take a high capacity lithium batteries with me for long ice fishing camping trips. Been using lead acid for the diesel heater and just too heavy for sled days.
If the stakes weren't so high for me being a fishing guide, I'm really curious to take a chance on the Amazon cheap batteries as well! I just don't think I can afford to do that.
Not sure if you listen to the Jason Mitchell podcast, but they had James Holst on who now works high up in a lithium company after selling IDO. There’s some phenomenal insights that could help a lot. If you want I can find the episodes and link them.
@@BloemendaalFishing I have three 12V 125 Ah Ionics on my 20 ft Lund and most times I barely use 20% of the capacity only using spot lock. I troll with it also so on really windy days trying to troll at 2 MPH into the wind it pulls a lot of amps and it will drain more but still can do 8 hours of trolling. .
I'm on my second year with IONIC 105 amp with three making 36V and they have been flawless. I'm starting a 400 so I have two 125 amp IONIC lithium in parallel and they also have performed well. Charging is done by the Power Pole charge, I'm on my second one of those, customer service fixed the problem and so far so good.
I run 2 12V 100AH Norsk lithiums with the heated cores. I charge them with a minn kota precision charger and the system works awesome. I’m in northern Iowa so I had to go with the heated ones. Excellent customer service too!! I troll with my trolling motor A LOT in a Lund 1875 pro guide and have yet to run them dead!
Enjoyed the battery discussion. Thinking about switching to lithium for the boat this year. Keep us in the loop with your findings. Heading over to check out Randy’s video now!
Not telling you what brand to buy but I bought two Power Queen 100ah 12v lithium ion trolling motor batteries and a NOCO 10x2 lithium battery charger a month ago and so far they work great. Two batteries on Amazon were less than $500. There are some good reviews on TH-cam of Power Queen brand which convinced me to try them. A full day of fishing and they are still 75% charged.
Chins 100ah 12v is rated well. They run 200 but they don't have heaters. Ionic battery aka lithiumhub is a well know marine battery with a long 11 year warranty. They have bluetooth, heaters, etc. Seems like they had coupons or call for best price. They have A+ customer support also. Keep in mind if your trolling motor has brushes, you should never run it past 80-85% power because of the higher voltage of lithium. If the trolling motor is brushless, you can run full power. I believe that is Minnkota's recommendation.
Welcome back. Hope winter was good. Great job.
Thanks, buddy! Wish I had more ice fishing opportunities, but what can ya do?

Thanks man! I hope so too.
That’s a great point too on the alternator charge for house batteries. Haven’t decided to go that far yet, but I’d like to someday.

Oh yeah, please do.
Noticed the Kalin's Pro Featherweight net. You'll have to let me know how you like it. Very intrigued by a potentially strong yet lightweight net!
I like it so far. My buddy Randy told me to try it. If you extend it, it’s a little floppy, but if you don’t, it’s great.
Biggun!
It was a fun fish!

Good info.
Amped batteries are really good and their customer service is GREAT! I use the 24 x 80 amp for my Terrova and it works great.
Cool deal, thanks!

Nice. I saw those and wondered if they were worth it or not.

I have heard that, I’ve never gone past 7 on the trolling motor. Can’t see a reason to.
U needed more hogs. You were starting to hallucinate. Get over 100 ah battery
I did.
