Congratulations on the blues. I have a bumping pole that i purchased like 3 years ago and still haven't gotten it wet yet lol. Never tried but want to. I see you are local to kc. My grandparents used to buy from Minnesota bait for their bait and tackle shop they had in olathe. Good luck man keep it up.
Hello Bryce. I cut the current speed in half with the trolling motor, and it's working to do so. The main channel current here is about 3 MPH and I cut it down to 1- 1.5 MPH. I spent a ton of time bumping this summer and was mostly unsuccessful. This trip was special and sort of a confidence builder that I could do it. Best of luck and wish you much success and enjoyment on the water.
Hello. I use the trolling motor to slow the boat down about half the speed of the current and also to control left/right. I'm moving with the current. I expect the speed depends on the river, but most of the time where I'm at if I can get down to 1 mph in the main channel, the trolling motor is working really hard. River runs about 3-4 mph normally. Best of luck, hope you find a few!
Really enjoyed your video. That was a great fish 👍
Thank You!
