- Hey there Star Wars collectors, please check out my review of the Star Wars Vintage Collection Darth Maul 2020 reissue. This figure is part of a greatest hits wave and has the photo-real paint apps technology applied to his face. I think it makes a big difference which I hope comes across in the video. Enjoy!

If Hasbro is going to re-issue a figure, this is how you do it! I might have to try and pick this one up.

ALSO man... I'm really fighting how hed packed... I display him without good anyway, coz he looks better that way! But I'm glad he's packed without/separate, to see that head sculpt - speaking of which, THAT HEAD man! SO much better! 👌🏻💙

That Maul looks great. The Photo Real is awesome. I would have liked to see a thicker material used for the robe. You shouldn't be able to see through it.

They really should have put a hinge on his neck. Years ago I ordered my vc maul from eBay for cripmiss and he arrived with a large pronounced dirty footprint on the card which was smashed and obviously slid with weight on it, the figure is severely damaged squished and ripped as if it was stomped hard and then with as much weight as possible just ground in and slid forward and back. It also came with a hand-written apology from the postmaster. The head was still in ok condition so it became my first darth maul custom and is still one of my favorite maul figures. I really look forward to getting two of these. Thank you for another awesome review I appreciate you and what you do. I went to a toy store and they were supposed to sell him for 35 but someone messed the tag up I guess so I got him for 20 🔥

Ed, Bossk often has a jump cut in my reviews (not all). My favourite is Hoth Leia, see if you can find it 😂

Superb figure but why Hasbro still including the same tattered inaccurate robe 🙄? You could use the one in the episode 1 sith pack where a much better more accurate robe was included.. I have the original one from 2012.. Still in the crd... I hope Hasbro do a new updated maul in 6inch...its about time..
I am with you on the robe my friend, the tattered look just isn’t screen accurate and doesn’t look good in the figure. I’m displaying without the hood and robe. Thanks for watching
Got this guy on the way, was really excited to get him but like you Tim I’m a little bit disappointed with the neck joint not allowing his head to go fully back I’ll probably keep him carded for now so not a massive issue
The robe should have been made with different material. Awesome review & figure.

Question Tim...are you sure he has swivel hips? If he does...that's not a repack of the first VC figure they released. That one had ball joint hips.

Looks good apart from hood and robe. Hasbro always let us down on something 😀
I remember seeing the first VC Maul at comic shop for all of $10 and passed on it because I didn't like the way the hood sat. Didn't look right. I've got the reissue one on pre-order and it (along with all the other SW pre-orders) might arrive at some point before I kick my air addiction. I am glad they've changed it up a bit, might actually case this one up for the wall display...that is if it ever shows up! Was his outer robe that frayed in the film? Swivel hips are a disappointment, ball-jointed would've been better as Maul did throw some kicks in the film's duel scenes.

Top tip. This figure looks fantastic in the cloak that came in the Phantom Menace “Sith Accessory Set”. It’s almost perfect. That was made over 20 years ago too! Hasbro continue to baffle me sometimes 🙂

The saber should've had at least one removable blade to recreate the full hilt 1 blade used in the tattoine fight.

Maul still isn't perfect to me personally, I really don't like the softgoods they use on Sith figures kilts/skirt/kama/lowert tunic and their robes. The original Darth Maul with Removable Blade (Darth Lord Sith Lord) Darth Sidious' robe in the VC and Darth Vader with Interrogation Droid's robe parts are the right way with a matte black clear cut look. I also dislike the torso of this Maul. I've been watching a lot of your video's and think you do great content, I felt like Star Wars had had its hayday with the VC but there's been a resurgence in no small part due to the acquisition by Disney and the films that followed suit. It's a shame we never seem to get a proper Maul both in scale as he's too thin in the VC not broad enough, the horns are always too small or too bulky, but if they managed it with Savage Opress then it seems like they can here too. The molded on wrist gauntlet that controls his probe droids etc shouldn't be on his figure but a separate accessory like in the Sith Accessory Set from 1999 and the blades are cut in half so why don't they give us full length blades? It's baffling. I thought I'd comment to say thank you for this review and your content in general as well as show you my take on a 'perfect' Maul. I think the original speeder bike Mail is much better overall. I have all the original 3.75 Mauls, and his accessory pack and the face prints seem just as good as this. Check them out, especially the cloth robes.

Here's an idea for you and I don't know if you have an extra one or not but I used an extra robe from the Darth Maul that came with his own speeder bike thing. It looks better than the robe that he comes with and the plastic hood holds the cloth one down and out of sight from the front. Just an idea that you might want to try.

Wahoo this reissue wave has finally arrived! Great to see that you have these Tim and I can't wait for your thoughts on the other figures. I also really appreciated the comparison of the cardbacks, I had missed out on some of the original releases of these gems and do not have the side by side to do myself. In short these Face updates are looking fabulous, Keep up the great reviews.
does the anakin skywalker have a hole for the light saber hil

Yeah sorry just a mistake on my part. Said swivel instead of ball joint. He does have the balk jointed hips
I have the older version loose, I replaced his plastic hood and tattered robe with a more screen-accurate soft goods robe from Maul on his speeder bike which is part of the 90’s Phantom Menace line. That robe has a softgoods hood, and sits on this super articulated Maul very nicely.
and the softgoods hood is easy to fold back to display Maul’s face. And yes, my Maul looks like he has a back problem, and hunches more than the vc General Grievous figure

Bossk's Bounty you’re welcome! The speeder bike itself is compatible with this version of Maul as well and makes for a cool accessory in a display of the brief Tatooine duel with Qui-Gon. Happy hunting!
@@BossksBounty hi bossk i have that maul and speeder bike brand new for sale if interested its brand new never been out of box and its in mint condition ,that vintage collection maul will look sick on the speeder but the cloth robe is a lot better on the fig the speeder comes with,£10 plus postage if interested buddy? aw yeh it comes with the droid aswell lol

I haven't got round to grabbing Mandalore Maul yet, but this has popped up in a local shop, is it worthwhile grabbing him instead?
Not instead as they are very different. but this one is worth getting for the classic Maul look

Yeah I think plastic robes look much better on the 3inch range ..it looks naff .shame but it looks cool without it
I dont mind soft goods if done right. The new Luke Skywalker Jedi Knight is a great example of how it should be done

I got 5 already of this wave. Hope I can get the others. One thing I would suggest for your awesome videos is to show some poses with the different accessories that comes with the figure.

Hi mate, I am in the UK but from what I know about the US is that it varies - Pulse will have a set release date where as others bend the rules. Often Target etc put things out way too early
