    I own a 2021 SR with that same color combo. I love the car. Is the slowest thing on this planet, but is NOT a performance car. For performance there’s plenty of choice. But the car is really good on gas, interior is great plus is a damn good looking car. It gets looks every single day I drive it.

      I got my SR in 2020 summer, and still occasionally, people ask what car/model is this lol it was more annoying when i got it during 2020 summer. Still(in 2022) the design is best in class vs mazda3/civic/corolla... etc

      Exactly...the wife had a Versa when we got together and it was actually SLOWER (believe it or not! lol), but it didn't matter. That's not what that car was (or this car is) intended for...it was intended to be a cheap, reliable, efficient, simple means of transport. We had that Versa for YEARS and LITERALLY drove it across the country and it checked all of those boxes twice over. Even if it was slower than biden climbing stairs. lol

    I had bought the 2022 Sentra SR about a month ago. I normally drive a Volvo xc 60 and a 5 series BMW. I have no complaints. Not even on the power. I drive mostly highway and have had no trouble merging. The car is impressive for the price point.

      Good to know! The car comparisons really got me here. The 2009 Altima is my daily driver and I’ve always felt it does fine with merging too. I feel like if I need a speed wagon, I’ve got a 2019 Silverado 2500 HD with a 6.6L turbo engine that will do the trick. 😂 Thanks for the insight here, friend!

    I know this car is slow to accelerate but I think Nissan did a super job making up for that with all the little details in it. The side sill plates, the zero gravity seats, the gauge cluster, moveable widgets, rear usb (most cars in the class don't have it), those little things really matter. I'd drive this car. Nice styling too. Too bad there's no talk of a Nismo Sentra in the works.

    I bought the 2021 Model SR Premium with 14,000km on it and its been a solid purchase so far.
    HP is more than adequate for the price of this car.
    MPG are in the 40's on the highway with ease.
    0-60 is impressive no matter what reviewers say. seems like if you press half throttle is where the power kicks in. hammering it to the floor confuses the shifts to not keep it in the power/torque band.
    highway ride is amazing for a light sedan. higher speeds 170+ km/hr is steady as a rock. Impressed do far :)

    Nice car, great design, price, fuel economy, handling. How many people floor it 0 to 60 on a daily basis, or even twice a year. What's more important is 30 to 70, passing speeds, and agility. That's a feature you never talk about but very important: How agile is the car? How well does it handle on tight turns and wet roads? You should consider driving on test tracks with cones in your reviews, then we'll really know what the car is made of.

    • @cgmiddle
      @cgmiddle ปีที่แล้ว

      Nobody routinely accelerates 0-60 unless they are playing around. The 0-60 metric is useless information. 35-to- safe merging speed (onto the highway) is useful. Reviews I have seen that mention this tell a story of very slow merging speed. Put some hamsters under the hood for more horsepower?

    • @R3putaytion13
      @R3putaytion13 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have a feeling, now that Ghosn is out of the picture completely, within the next product line plan (usually 5-8 years out) Nissan will drop the CVT completely. We have the regular 7-8 speed automatics that give CVT-like fuel economy without the sacrifice.
      Its apparent that Nissan is willing to forgo its CVT for a traditional stepped automatic in the Pathfinder, a very important vehicle in the lineup.
      However, we are in a very unique timeframe in the industry. We are between the final curtain call of ICE engines and full EV cars so its kind of awkward to want something when manufacturers are in pace to change paths.

First, went to Toyota and there weren't Corollas available - we would have actually wanted a hybrid. Looked at Lexus and Infiniti- too expensive. Mazda - our mechanic wouldn't work on them. Then Sentra. Liked the SR exterior styling and interior best of all, especially the orange piping. We have had very good experience with Nissan in the past. As much as I hate CVTs, the styling and functionality of the new Nissan vehicles pretty much trumps that. I’m still pushing my 2009 Altima because dadgummit, the thing simply won’t die. I’m sincerely considering upgrading to this Sentra because it’s roughly the same size as my older Altima and for the price point, it would be all too easy to slap a turbo in the thing and call it a day. This is a gorgeous vehicle that checks a lot of boxes in terms of price, features, and style! Great review as always, Joe!

Love that they have the two tone paint and fog lamps. I would buy one of these if there was more horsepower. It makes a difference when driving on the highways around Dallas. 0-60 in 8 seconds is a must.

      The only manuals sold in the US are vehicles like the Subaru WRK, Hyundai Veloster N, a few BMW's, and the occasional Mazda. No one in the states buys a manual if they don't have performance as a top priority. 90% of consumers here just want a auto for relaxed driving, even with the new Z practically everyone going to a Nissan Dealership just wants comfy seats, soft suspension for pot holes, and a decent interior.

    Hey Joe and Lori, and the Raiti's Rides family how are y'all doing today?
    Hey Joe, thanks for posting this review about this Nissan Sentra. Now the Nissan Sentra is in the compact sedan category (obviously), but something that is cool is that a base (cloth CVT RWD) Sentra cost around 20k. But most other trims are from 20k up to 22k (with out options).
    But it's not such a bad looking sedan and I think it's cool that it offers "dual paint" for the paintjob (and I think leather seats, but I'm not that sure) , but all of those options aren't standard which boasts the price up.
    Anyway what is your favorite compact sedan the Hyundai Elantra, Honda Civic, Volkswagen Jetta, or the "iconic" Toyota Corolla, Kia forte.
    Or maybe go for more "premium/luxury" compact sedan category like the Audi A3, Polestar 2, Volvo S60, BMW 3 series, the more "sportier" BMW 4 series grand coupe, Cadillac CT4, or ect.
    (Also that is a good color combo)
