@@Sl1pstreams Brian, I own my vehicles. I understand how it all works financially. Don’t need the lesson from an Altima owner. It doesn’t change my original statement. I’m happy you payed cash for your, Altima. That still doesn’t change the fact that you now own a popular rental vehicle. A vehicle that is marketed to people who are not financially responsible. Nissan dealerships offers loans to people that don’t even have a $100 emergency fund. I’m also confused by someone that supposedly payed cash for their vehicle, seemingly isn’t smart enough to realize that there are better practical, and affordable vehicles out there. I’m scratching my head on that one, and I pause at your claim of paying cash for one. In the end though, you do you, Brian.
I've owned about 6 vehicles in my life, nothing crazy or exotic, but THE best, most trouble free, was a 2007 Nissan Altima 6 cylinder.........with the CVT transmission, no less. Car runs like a Swiss timepiece and THE coldest A/C I've ever experienced in an automobile. I take damn good care of my vehicles. Oil, tires, brakes, and changing the CVT fluid, that's it. Never a problem. I (regrettably) sold it in August, with 155,000 miles on it..........to a mechanic, at a shop down the street. Mechanic drives it to work every day. A lot of people say, "Nissan doesn't make 'em like they used to." Perhaps, but WHO does? I've owned 3 Nissan's, and they've ALL been very good to me. I'm not happy that Nissan has abandoned the off-road capable SUV market in North America, and Toyota is a better all-around automaker, however, Nissan's VQ series engines are THE BUSINESS!
I have this 2022 nissan altima midnight edition, I love it. It's a great car. I had a 2020 altima SL , and it was fully loaded with everything, and I liked it much , much more. What. Beautiful car joe and Lori! I LOVE ❤ EVERYTHING ABOUT IT! Altima's are one of my favorite 🚗 🚘 car. Looks mean and it could spit ya out. Watch out America! The Altima is here! 😀
I love my Altima 2022 SR. It is quite inside. The only thing that makes me nervous is the CVT transmission, and hoping that the pully will not snaps. However, I do not launch my vehicle like a drag racers. I watch many videos on how to take good care of a CVT transmissions. I suggest you guys watch it too.
Been watching your reviews lately, another great video here. I'm looking for a new sedan as I'm leaving for school in a few months. I'm surprised that so many sedans nowadays don't offer AWD anymore, if they did I would have totally went with a camry. Test drove the K5 today and I'll be test driving this car tomorrow.
Imagine you spend your hard work money on this Altima this man is driving to beat the hell out of it. Straight off the lot. I wouldn’t like knowing this happened to my car 😂
You have poor taste if you say the Camry looks better than the Altima. Aside from the Mazda 6, the Altima is the most sleek looking and beautiful midsize sedan. The Camry is more outdated and frumpy looking like a whale with that huge ugly front grill.
@@odnamorvr3053 The fact that the Camry FINALLY has a panoramic roof option and Nissan don't with the Altima, speaks volume. Nissan almost went bankrupt because their CEO was stealing money from the company. That is why Nissan has fallen off as a brand. They tried to redeem itself. But got some serious damage control to do. There's a few things I don't like about the Camry. I think their infotainment looks dated. But if I have to choose, I'll go with Camry. One is because I can get a panoramic roof like most luxury cars and not CVT!
I have the 2020 gun metallic SR and hated the chrome. I blacked out everything. Grey and black and my car looks great! 47k miles no issues. So far lol fingers 🤞
I do like that they still offer a naturally aspirated engine for longevity over one with forced induction and the interior isn’t bad. Very minimalistic looking which I like, but Nissan has really fallen off over the years. Between the CVTs and the very outdated exterior designs I didn’t even consider one this past summer. I really hope they make a comeback over the next couple years with some standard transmissions and updated redesigns. I Ultimately ended up with a fully loaded 2021 Camry XSE and couldn’t be happier.
People buy what they can afford and although Camry is very nice, their prices are becoming ridiculous. Not everyone wants to lease their ride; some of us would actually like to buy to own. Toyotas are nice but don't try to convince me that a reasonable Camry is really worth the close to 50K price tag. The Nissan Altima is reasonably nice looking, comes with many nice features and is more reasonably priced. Don't tell me about the CVT transmission either because both Honda and Toyota have CVTs and they have their problems as well. People are struggling to feed their families in the United States and there's no way that an everyday family ride should be 50K. I would definitely consider taking a look at this Nissan Altima Midnight Edition. There's no way that I'm going to buy a Toyota Camry for 50K. Toyota's pricing is extortion.
Hey 👋🏽 good morning Mr. and Mrs Raiti thank you for another great car video. I had a NISSAN: Altman a few times including the first model body design from back in the early 90's and the late 90's early 2K'S model. It was a good car back then but I graduated to the SUV types and never looked back at a regular car sedan. Thank you for bringing this to us. Have a safe good day.
I wonder if Nissan is going to redesign the Altima soon I’ve always liked the looks since it came out on 2019 but if I get one now and they change soon I’m gonna have to wait
I think that based on this video/review and some of the comments... Men care about certain things that women could care less about! as long as the car I'm driving isn't loud (making that hotrod sound or that crackling sound that I hear on certain cars I've seen) and I don't drive manual/stick shift cars and I have zero interest in learning how... I like a nice smooth comfortable drive (with plenty of horsepower when I need it!) And this car seems like something I might look into...
The Altima has grown over the years but I’d go with the Camry. They have the Nightshade Edition which is similar even though it has a ECVT which I’m not a fan of. Thanks for the awesome job you and Lori deliver every day!! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Toyota has an 8 speed torque converted automatic in the Nightshade trim. The ECVT is only in the Hybrid spec'd versions. They just started offering the nightshade trim in the hybrid for 22.
Great Reaction to the black Addition Nissan Lori Does a Wonderful Job Eac time Thank you Lori And this is something I'm interested in Nissan Altima or Nissan titan truck
Hey Joe and Lori (and everyone else who read this) how are you (I hope great, but if not (if you want) tell me what's wrong). So the Nissan Altima the midsize sedan I forget about until I go to the Nissan website. The Nissan Altima main competitor is the Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry. But personally I'll prefer a Kia K5 or the tech savvy Hyundai Sonata, but what would you prefer in the midsize sedan category. There is the Dodge Charger (probably your favorite), Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Kia K5, Hyundai Sonata, the beautiful Maxda 6, and the terrible Infiniti Q50 (a worser Nissan Altima). Or spend a bit more to get to the "base" luxury segment, like the Mercedes Benz c class, BMW 3 series, Audi A4, Genesis G70.
So this is a nice looking car and I agree why they put so much chrome on the outside on a midnight edition. Also I wish they blacked out the Nissan badge also in the front but the heartburn on buying this car Nissan is always the CVT system. 👎🏾
@Raiti’s Rides I am watching your car reviews already 4 years and you are doing amazing job! Thank You for all your great work we really appreciate you!
I fell out of love with Nissan since they added that infamous CVT engine. I wanted to love this Altima so bad.. But for the money, I'm going with the KIA K5 GT-Line AWD. I get more feature content in the K5 than the Altima. I'm ZONKING that Nissan lacks having a panoramic roof option.. No dual climate (at $31k, that should've been included), all Incandescent lights in the rear end. Even on higher trims. Which to me, cheapens the look. Infotainment is on the small side compares to the K5 optional 10.25 inch screen. I'm also ZONKING the pop rods. I know Camry and Accord has it. But the K5 and Sonata doesn't. They have hydraulic hood openings across every trim. That Nissan keyfob is just ancient of days and needs a new look. Overall, Nissan has completely lost their Mojo every since their former CEO was robbing the company blind. The only innovation thing that Nissan did to the Altima was to make push to start standard on all trims. But lost it with that CVT engine. It's the reason why people have a huge stigma with CVT engines in the first place.
Agreed. I own a 2015 altima SL and this 2022 seems like a minor refresh since mine has almost everything this new one has. Also disappointing that it's the same engine + a couple HP and even with AWD the 0-60 time is still the same
I bought a 97' Altima SE (the last year of the first generation) and drove it for five years. I loved that car and it was actually fun to drive for a mid-sized sedan back then. I miss the days when Nissan actually had the sporty edge over the competition 😕
For some reason I was never a fan of the egg shaped 1993-97 Altima, at least not at the XE or GXE trims. However, the SE and GLE trims were pretty decent looking. 1998-2001 models didn't look any better.
@@darkivaz-aaa1145 … Better resale, driving character, lower insurance, better build quality, cheaper parts, reliable transmissions. Yeah, us fanboys love our Toyotas for a reason. I don’t know why you would ever wanna spend more money on a worse car.

A black on black car always looks good by the way.
Only when they are clean
@@RaitisRides that is true. That's why I went with silver paint on my jeep gladiator .
I have this 2022 nissan altima midnight edition, I love it. It's a great car. I had a 2020 altima SL , and it was fully loaded with everything, and I liked it much , much more. Unfortunately, it was totaled , and I had to buy a new one, so the midnight edition was presented to me, so I took it. Overall a great car, just wish it had more options. Everyone loves the look! I have the white on black .. it's a head turner for sure.
im getting mine today, im so excited!!! white and black too!!
At the end of the day it’s still an Altima with black rims…. Whoooop peeeeeee

You're car reviews are the best, no question about it! 👍🏾 The new Altima is really popular out here in Cali as I see plenty of them. For me personally I would never consider buying one for one reason and one reason only... The whimpy CVT automatic transmission 👎🏾 No way, No how! I learned my lesson with the 2019 Civic Sport that I traded in. Thanks Joe, you're the best! 👌🏾
Thanks Rodney for having my back and your great input!
I buy a 2017 Camry and it’s feel so good and easy to drive!, that does not make me think about buying a brand new vehicle
Good video by the way 👍🏻
Camry`s are great reliable cars .
I appreciate you sharing that great ownership experience!
So very true Randy!

Didn’t even know they had a Midnight Edition! Hope all is well Joe!
Hey Alex! Things are good!
Just got one today from Nissan mission hills , the car is beyond description excellent pierce of machinery . As far as the transmission goes just get the extended warranty up to 84 months worry free. By the way the people at this dealer are the friendliest people I’ve ever dealt with .
What. Beautiful car joe and Lori! I LOVE ❤ EVERYTHING ABOUT IT! Altima's are one of my favorite 🚗 🚘 car. Looks mean and it could spit ya out. Watch out America! The Altima is here! 😀
I had a feeling you would like this one Cliff!
You can get an Accord with a 10 speed automatic if you go the 2.0T.
Cool that you cover normal cars with such enthusiasm too !!
Hi Dan! Thanks for your support and for tuning in! Good luck with your search.
what did you end up getting?
Camry has AWD option. Cheapest one was 25k.

I didn't know Altima was so outdated.. just bought a 2022 Camry XSE V6 with red interior. Have to say it looks much better than this Altima
You have poor taste if you say the Camry looks better than the Altima. Aside from the Mazda 6, the Altima is the most sleek looking and beautiful midsize sedan. The Camry is more outdated and frumpy looking like a whale with that huge ugly front grill.
@@odnamorvr3053 lol instead of saying I have poor taste how about we say you just don't like camry 😂🤡
@@odnamorvr3053 You are definitely in the minority.
If only it had the Vc-Turbo
That is the one missing piece of the puzzle.
Yes, Thank God I will buy one for myself
I do like that they still offer a naturally aspirated engine for longevity over one with forced induction and the interior isn’t bad. Very minimalistic looking which I like, but Nissan has really fallen off over the years. Between the CVTs and the very outdated exterior designs I didn’t even consider one this past summer. I really hope they make a comeback over the next couple years with some standard transmissions and updated redesigns. I Ultimately ended up with a fully loaded 2021 Camry XSE and couldn’t be happier.
Camry or the Accord over anything Nissan any day
People buy what they can afford and although Camry is very nice, their prices are becoming ridiculous.
This car needs the 9 speed from the Pathfinder.
This Midnight Edition is sleek and beautiful. Very classy looking.
I am so glad that you are liking this one.
I wonder if Nissan is going to redesign the Altima soon I’ve always liked the looks since it came out on 2019 but if I get one now and they change soon I’m gonna have to wait
I am sure it is coming in the next two years!
I am sure that is the case!
The Altima has grown over the years but I’d go with the Camry. They have the Nightshade Edition which is similar even though it has a ECVT which I’m not a fan of.
Thanks for the awesome job you and Lori deliver every day!! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Of course Larry! We love bringing them to you!
Thanks for having our backs Lydell!
The styling is getting older for my taste
They need a redesign soon!
The new “redesign” literally looks like they just pulled from their Infiniti line up from a decade ago tbh.
We always like reading your comments!
Is ok. This car is due for a redesign, a turbo 4 cylinder standard, and an 8 speed.
I can't wait to see what Nissan brings next!
I’m actually looking to get a car in the future and this made it to one of my choices, looks really good
This one looks decent in the midnight edition but sorry it’s still subpar and probably best suited for the rental car market.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one.
It gives me vibes of the old gen Optima and Sonata combined together
I like the simulated shifts on the CVT. Really controls the rev hang
I have a 21 Sentra SR. This Altima is literally the same car, just bigger lol. Not that that's bad thing though. I love my car!
If Nissan brings back the Altima SE-R/6-speed, and keeps AWD, I'd drop $42k and add it to my Turo fleet. Midnight Edition is a hard pass, sorry.
Now we are talking!
Beautiful inside of this car!
So this is a nice looking car and I agree why they put so much chrome on the outside on a midnight edition. Also I wish they blacked out the Nissan badge also in the front but the heartburn on buying this car Nissan is always the CVT system. 👎🏾
I agree with your points!
Wife is actually in the process of buying one now.
NISSAN IS STILL GETTING IT DONE😎
They use a rubbish CVT . How is that getting it done exactly ? lol
Heck yeah!
@@DEVILTAZ35 Nissan will never be great but as long as they're better than previous generations😏

Thank you for letting me share it with you!
Had 97 was crazy about that car think was a nice looking car back in the day.
For some reason I was never a fan of the egg shaped 1993-97 Altima, at least not at the XE or GXE trims. However, the SE and GLE trims were pretty decent looking. 1998-2001 models didn't look any better.
This car just looks outdated in every way. The wheels and chrome are a huge ZONK. I'd take a 2022 Civic Hatchback any day.
no it doesn’t idiot buy some glasses
Camry was refreshed in 2021 with a floating style entertainment center
The Altima might look sharp but it's not dependable
I've not had an ounce of trouble with mine.
The Camry doesn’t actually have a prop bar under the hood. Even the base model from 2018 on has hood shocks that hold the hood up on their own
No wayyy People are going to buy nissan worst transmission
They are selling though.

To answer your question, not even close. Given that the Camry and Accord are priced similarly to this car, it's surprising that anyone chooses the Altima.
