In 1992 I had the opportunity, thank God, to attend my first Winter NAMM. At the end of the first day we were summoned at one point to enter Remo's 35th anniversary party. I had no idea what I would see and hear. I knew there was going to be music. Inside, I find a friend (Roberto Vidal), and he asked me if I was ready to listen to Toto. I thought he was kidding me. But no, indeed, at some point in the night, they are announced: Toto.
They played something I hadn't heard before (having all their records). At the end I could talk with each of the band members, and it was David Paich who told me that it was material from the new album they were recording.
That album was "Kingdom of Desire" (it came out in Europe on September 7 of that year, and in the United States until May 11, 93), and the theme was "Jake To The Bone".
A great memory of having been in that place, and now I share it with you.
    Jeff Porcaro: Drums
    David Paich: Keyboards
    Steve Lukather: Guitar
    Mike Porcaro: Bass
    Chris Trujillo: Percussion

I was at this show! I was expecting that they were going to play an entire set and play several of their songs, but what they played was this. Not that I was disappointed though- I never heard Toto play this kind of almost "jazz fusion" type of music before and I was blown away! ( Not that I should have been surprised though- Toto are great, great studio musicians and can play ANY type of music! But what I remember MOST about this performance was greeting Jeff Porcaro as he came off the stage after playing this ( I knew Jeff a little and had taken a picture with him just a couple of hours earlier that day). When he came off the stage I said to him "Jeff- that was fucking GREAT!!"" He obviously wasn't happy with his performance though and he replied " I SUCK! I SUCK!!!!" That's how modest and humble of a guy he was...

Thank you Jose. Recordings like this are jewels, like masterpieces of arts that we have from the past times. You just made few pictures and pressed "REC", but their value is increasing together while time passes.
