such an underrated channel. Been brushing up on my skills before moving to LA next week to pursue this full-time and love hearing the in-depth explanations from such experience! thanks!
Thank you very much for clarification, I am very eager to see the grid lighting, this really what we need , For example I could not find any training series cover how to light with grid system for multiple cameras , I hope you cover it from scratch , by showing us how you bulid the rig , tweaking the light, Even furthermore you can cover an area none touch it how you light for talk shows by using grid system
As always Matthew great content, thanks for sharing your knowledge. I have a question on the frame 0:33 you have set a very long slider looks like a 32 foot slide, what is this setup? thanks again for sharing. :)
This is called the Catrax it is part of the Kinetrax. I plan to do a few films on all of the equipment I used for this shoot. Still in the making, i'll put them up in a few weeks. I hope to be posting a film a week now as I have a short break till my next big project
how does it work in outdoors and night time...do they rig with overhead lights or prefer strong stand light much far from subject ?? Anybody fix this doubt for me ?
Extremely interesting. I've shot several scenes for a movie with stands and I was just about to shoot a few others with a grid and small lights attached to it. Thanks for sharing. What cameras were you using? I think I've seen a BM 2.5 in one of the shots (4:34) but I don't recognize the texture of the BM images in the movie.
The kelvins of the light look very out of place, and harsh, it looks like you needed some diffusion like Muslim or something. Either that or I’m missing the point.
This is hands down, the most informative channel I've come across in a long while. Love this series, nice work!!

I see we're a fan of the RTE Irish news lol
@4:08 entire lightstand was mounted to a pole.. damn. lol.
Please do a section where you critique your audience lighting setups 😂
Your images are so moody man! If Hurrell's images could move, they would be KINETEK!
