I was about to comment the same! I was watching the video (great video Aputure, hats off!) and I had like this feeling behind my head of something not matching but at the same time it was somehow coherent... Then it hit me😂
It was the edit! The full line was soon to be legendary cinematographer oren soffer. I love Oren, consider him a good friend and a supremely talented DP. We talked for a little over an hour and the finished piece is only 11 minutes so some things ended up in the cutting room floor. If there is enough demand, maybe we'll release the full conversation 🤷♂
@@danielcolmenares5608 😂 fair enough. Would love to see the uncut version - this movie is a big inspiration to independent filmmakers and being able to see how they made it is 🤌🏽
@@danielcolmenares5608release the full version my dude! Believe me there is enough interest! My tiny breakdown video of the creator rig has 26,000 views 😉..
@@danielcolmenares5608 there surely is enough demand for sure. I presume particular reason for not having the full length is time/money? Even 10/15min sneak peak followed by full length via website or something would be great from marketing point of view.
Wow. This is fantastic. Being a user / fan of Aputure lights, I am very happy and impressed that Aputure lights were used on "The Creator". That they filmed it with the Sony FX3 was very impressive. Now, hearing that they thumbed up the Aputure 1200D really brings Aputure into the forefront of Hollywood filmmaking. Congrats, Aputure. This is a huge deal.
This was great, I purposefully saw this film because the lighting looked so incredible. I love the scrappy but high quality nature these lights are able to offer.
GREIG FRASER is a GOD for the film makers of tomorrow ! He’s the only DOP out there who thinks outside the BOX like this. He’s not into HEAVY, time consuming, labour intensive, super costly Gaffer set up’s. He’s a huge proponent of LED’s. He’s not afraid to think l outside the NORM & SAY. Let’s only use THIS instead of all of THAT.
This was such an excellent overview! Super cool to see such heavy use of Aputure lights on a feature film. I'd love to see one or two scene breakdowns in a video in a format similar to what Wandering DP does. Or maybe you sponsor one of his breakdowns and have it be an interview.
Loved this film so much! It was one of the best sci fi films to come out in a long time. It shows with the right story, crew, prep, and willpower that anything can be achieved regardless of gear and budget.
Wow… the fact that the Sony FX3 was used as a camera on this film had blown me away when I first heard about it, now knowing that Aputure lights where also used is just as impessive since I own some Apurture lights and have been drooling over the 1200d for a while. What an age of filmmaking we live in.
Great philosophy , i'm an Aputure fan just about all i'm buying and using these days, looking forward to the new releases next year hopefully a 300c pro and 60cpro also F22c pro all with CRMX built in
Great video, I’m a fan of aputure but I think it’s time to accept that other lighting fixtures are used on productions and I know they say you should never advertise a competitor but it’s a little disingenuous to give the impression that only aputure lights were used as I’m read in ASC that they also used Lite Mats and astera tubes. I. The real world people use more than one brand, and for good reasons, be it practical or just because they have legacy lighting and I think it would just good to show how good your lights are at working with others
Thank you for your great feedback! We've discussed it internally and will be sure to include a broader view of the production experience in our upcoming content. Stay tuned for the improvements!
Are there any websites or links that I can use to order a new control cord for my Aputure 120d? I’ve left comments on one of Aputure’s videos but haven’t received a response. Can someone please reply . Thank you in advance
Sony should bring a stacked 12MP a7Siv next, and even better 2-layer transistor stacked sensor with insane rolling shutter speed down to below 4-3ms, Venice-level.
@@robertdouble559 Yup, that's even better with 2-layer transistor and being stacked! But if there is an ISO hit then use an extremely fast rolling shutter for much better ISO performance than the current A7SIII/FX3/FX6/ZV-E1.
I can't be the only one who heard the Team Deakins Podcast music come in around the 10 minute mark lol
😂

“So tell me, how did you get where you are today? Did you always want to be a cinematographer?”
THANK YOU!! Im not the only one
Good catch
This is the best breakdown I have ever seen. We are truly in a new Era of filmmaking and I could not be happier.
"Legendary cinematographer Greig Fraser... and also Oren Soffer..." come on give him some credit!

Love this BTS interview! So inspirational! Got the FX3 and some Aputure lights, all I got to do now is filming.

Nice use of the Team Deakins theme music at 9:44 haha!
zoned in like a dog whistle when the Team Deakins musical score came up. Great vid, 2 incredible dop's
Team Deakins music at the end! Classic.
really good movie!
Amazing work of this people!

Notice how the fx3 was THE LEAST OF THIER CONVERSATIONS 😅😅 but yet alot of other youtubers just focus on the fx3 😂😂 . Good job aputure 🙏🙏
Amazing video, been dying to know the realistic lighting approaches that were done. Thanks for sharing!
Such great info from these DPs!
Loved this film so much!

This video is such a life-lesson.

Absolutely loved the visuals so much
This is so freaking good. Thank you for posting this.
The Creator , will go down as the greatest and underrated scify film of all time.
This is great! Please release the full non edited conversation!
Great job! 🖤
Cheers!
This video should be on Indy Mogul :)

Aputure, I see what you're doing. You've earned it.
3:13 Apurture MC or MC Pro? (The cutaway is the MC Pro).
Please give us the full one hour conversation!

excellent!
Such a concise breakdown, in the end though, it's more the script that felt low budget, almost like a student film.
would've been nice if they talked a bit more about their light on a boom pole setup
The AMARAN SPOTLIGHT SE would fit and work well in LS 60d using the bowens adapter?

Greig has always been a huge Digital Sputnik user, so I'd be surprised if their gear didn't play a pretty big role.
hell yes creator technical bts please put it into my veins

Nice to hear Greig's Aussie terminology "cherry picker" rather than "condor" coming out of Oren's mouth!
🖤

or...a global shutter like in the new blah blah 9 stills camera they released a few weeks ago. (I'm not good with model numbers!)

Very interesting and insightful interview. Just a little too much product placement for my taste.
lol why did they use the team deakins soundtrack for the ending
Crazy they shot this with an FX3
Why did they keep this weird aspect ratio
Saw the movie last night, although the script and dialogues were ass the cinematography and designs were legit
Too bad this movie has a so bad writing
