    I’ll give you my 2 cents. I’m interested in a MY, but I’m not buying an old model for just 0.99 APR or $2000 off. I’ll need a lot more incentives to get the older Y. I’ll wait for the Juniper or for Tesla to get more desperate. Actually I love the new M3, but there’s zero incentives on that except for the 3 year rental lease agreements. I’ll wait. I don’t like making car payments if I don’t have to 😊🚙.

    What’s the proper way to close my model Y trunk lid if I’m carrying a box that sticks out the back? Is it better to attempt to close the lid so that it maintains pressure on the box? Or, should I adjust the maximum opening height down to the level of the box and just leave it open?

    Trying to raise prices as this is still by far Tesla's most in demand vehicle and in fact one of the most in demand vehicles in North America. I think most are waiting on a possible flood of imports from Model Y as they are made in California, Texas but also Germany and China so expect prices to continue to fall in the meantime as most USA consumers are buying Toyota Corollas and Honda Civics right now and not any battery electrics let alone Teslas. The one exception is of course Cybertruck however...which those prices are starting to plunge too/as well and is what North America buyers actually want.

    I think that people that need a SUVish car now may be swayed to purchase a current gen model Y. However, people in the know, that have seen the new model 3. These people know alot of whats in the new model 3 is going to be in the new model Y. Not to mention a new model Y Ludicrous/Performance. That being said if the new model Y is unveiled in December/January 2025. Add maybe 90 days and 1st new model Y is delivered in March/April 2025. People just may be willing to wait. Although uncertain if the new model Y debuts in December/January 2025. Its only 8 months away. Another thing is Tesla wants people to buy the current gen obviously for sales and revenues mostly. But, how much depreciation will the incentives sold 2024 Model Ys endure when the new Model Y Junipers come out? A little, alot? Customers may be like idk lets wait to buy. I'm not saying all potential customers will wait, but I see why there would at least be a purchase cooling trend. Another thing, Tesla has a way of pissing off old customers by lowering the price and adding features later. Just business, right? Tell that to people who wanted to be first in a PLAID in June 2021. They paid $131k plus for it. Now, almost 35 months later. You can buy the newest, biggest, baddest version of a PLAID for less than what a base model S cost in 2021 ($96k ish) 2024 PLAID now only $88k. You can even add the new Track Package with upgraded wheels, brakes, and tech and be well under what people paid to be first in a PLAID. Hell, try selling a low mile used 2021-2024 PLAID now. How tricky would that be depreciation wise? So yes, waiting for better deals and incentives. Or just wait for the new Juniper? Either way, to wait may not be a bad idea. Maybe just hold on to your wallet.

      I’m a first time Tesla considerer (never thought I’d buy an EV 😆) and am really tempted for the model Y with the Fed Tax and .99 interest. Only thing that has me on the fence is the refresh having the Fed tax and the new stuff from the new M3. I’d hate for the Fed tax incentive to not be on the 25 MYLR and the .99 financing being gone too. If I wait I could lose a super good deal buying the MYLR now. This is so frustrating!
      What do you think?

    • @mrninesixteenth3106
      @mrninesixteenth3106 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @georgevigil7001 Hey Bro, I'm not trying to discourage you or nothing, but if I may. I'd like to recommend what I think would be a cool option to consider. I wouldn't lead you wrong as I believe "ALOT" in Karma and don't want any negative Karma returning to me. If you are serious about driving an EV. May I recommend 2 things? 1. Get a NEMA 14-50 220v receptacle installed at your home 1st thing. It is IMHO, the cheapest way to charge an EV from home. Get that installed in an easy, convenient location to charge your EV from home. If you are in an appt or not somewhere you can charge your EV from home, I personally wouldn't recommend EVs. Only because it will grow to be a pain in the neck making charge runs, but if you accept that going in. More power to you. Now, after you have a nema 14-50 receptacle at home. You can separately purchase and hook your Tesla charger to that NEMA 14-50 reseptacle with a nema 14-50 adapter. This setup will charge your Tesla at a rate of about 28-32 miles for every hour it's charging. Now, once you have a NEMA 14-50 receptacle at home with a Tesla Mobile charger and Nema 14-50 adapter. You will need to connect your Tesla mobile charger and NEMA 14-50 adapter. To your Nema 14-50 receptacle. Then, we can talk about recommendation #2. Which is rent a Tesla. I used Turo. So, get on the Turo app or similar for car rentals. See if the Tesla you want to buy is available to rent in your area. If it is. Set up an account on the Turo App. It's easy. Then you can rent the exact Tesla you want to buy. Drive it. idk maybe 7-10 days and charge it from home daily or as needed. Doing this is a cheap way to find out if having an EV is for you, then finding out what to expect. Btw, this will work with any other EV as well, but you will need to buy or buy and return an A*mzon J1772 level 2 charger with a NEMA 14-50 plug instead of a Tesla Mobile charger and NEMA 14-50 adapter. Honestly, I love the EV concept, but IMHO, they are NOT ready yet. Hybrids, better yet plug-in hybrids, offer the best of both worlds. Just to be thorough. There are the top 4 basic vehicles. 1. Gas, 2. Hybrid, 3. Plug-in Hybrid, 4. EV. Gas, you know. Hybrids offer a gas/electric mix that charges a small 1.5kw to 2kw battery, capable of a slow 1-3 miles at less than 25 mph in EV mode.
      This battery charges when you are coasting or braking. The electric motor is usually inside transmission and powered by a battery, which assists with propelling and driving the car and saves fuel in the process. Plug-Hybrid is exactly the same as Hybrid plus several differences, such as a larger 18-20kw battery that can be charged directly from 110v or 220v power source and can drive about 35 miles or more on just battery like an EV. Once the battery is depleted, it acts like a regular Hybrid. Then 4, EV or electric, you know, as well. All-electric. Also, the EVs use a lithium-ion battery because it's capable of much more power in terms of amperage, but it is more unstable at lower voltages. Hybrids and Plug-in Hybrids generally use a NiMh or Nickel Metal Hydride battery. Which can be charged to full and depleted to zero with no problems, but they have less power. Here's a tidbit no one tells you. Tesla wants you to charge your lithium-ion battery up to 80% for daily use for battery health and longevity. 81-100% only on trips. On the other end. They tell you do not regularly deplete your lithium-ion battery to less than 20% for battery health and longevity. Now think about that. If Tesla or EPA says your Tesla has a drive range of say 320 miles to a charge. That is an unachievable number because you have to run the car from 100% to 0% to get that. That is NOT an option. Sorry if this gets a little nerdy from here. Let's say the 320 miles is accurate. Most smaller Teslas use about a 78kw storage battery. That means the 100% full 78kw battery is at 0% at about your 320th mile. So let's do some math. 320 miles divided by 78kw is about 4.1025kw per miles driven to reach that. But wait!! Your real daily range of your 78kw battery is 80% down to 20%. Or 60% of daily usable range. So now let's take that 4.1025kw x 60%. That's 246 miles!! Now, that is also doing what's called hypermiling or driving really slow. About maybe 72mph Nothing 80mph plus with things like radio and a/c used minimally. So realistically, you may see 220 to maybe 235 miles. I'm just guessing. There are just too many variables. Then too, over time, the batteries will lose a little of their efficiency. The main thing is, what happened to 320 miles of range? Please do NOT solely take my word on any of this. Fellow youtube brothers. Help me out if I made an error somewhere. With the best of my knowledge, I don't think so. Good luck, Bro.

    They’re not selling as many as a few months ago because people are waiting for Juniper. Consumers want something fresh and new. .99 APR and applying $7500 tax credit, if you qualify, is a fantastic deal if you don’t want/need the newest version, but still…it’s an old and outdated design and feature set at this point. I have a 21 SR+ that I really enjoy and considering taking advantage of the current deal…but there’s a very large part of me that says I might not buy another Tesla. Tired of little things like I can’t talk to anyone directly in service, Tesla is bipolar in their prices and features they add and when, etc. The biggest killer for me is Tesla STILL can’t seem to get their quality control in line. All these years later and they still can’t guarantee a vehicle that’s acceptable for delivery. Buying a new Tesla is like playing Russian roulette. Totally unacceptable in 2024.

    Tesla meets resistance in Scandinavia: Union leader criticizes strike-breaking and lack of collective agreement
    • Tesla has come under fire in Scandinavia due to its handling of a strike at its factory in Sweden. Union leader Jørn Eggum in the Swedish Confederation is strongly critical of Tesla's use of strike breakers and unwillingness to enter into a collective agreement with the Swedish workers.
    • The strike, which has been going on for seven months, has led to Tesla flying in strike breakers from several European countries, including Norway. Eggum believes this is not in solidarity and undermines the workers' rights.
    • Eggum warns that Tesla may have problems operating in Scandinavia if they do not change their attitude. Several ports in Sweden are already closed to the unloading of Tesla cars, and work is being done to get Germany involved in measures against the electric car giant.
