I grew up idolizing George. Always wore number 5 since I was in T-ball. As a 50 year old lifetime Royals fan I am glad to see the Royals having success again after the 14 and 15 seasons and it looks like Bobby Baseball may be the next in line to be the man all the kids look up to like I did George!

Not a Royals fan but as a baseball fan, how can you not appreciate George Brett. He was in his prime when I fell in love with baseball and guys like him, Gwynn, Carew and others of that ilk, they were the ones who made a little kid like me be fascinated with the science of hitting a Major League pitcher. Don’t get me wrong, I’m equally fascinated by superior pitching & pitchers too. But there was always something about players who hit for average rather than power.
I hope Bobby Witt pays close attention to Brett’s advice. Kid has HOF written all over him.

I wrote Mr. Brett in 1989 as part of a class project. He was my favorite athlete/role model when I was a kid. He actually wrote me back and sent a signed autograph picture. I live in the Quad-Cities Illinois now, but I will forever be a Kansas City sports fan. I wore #5 in every sport I ever played. Thank you, Sir, for setting a high standard. God Bless.

This podcast flowed very well, guys. I’ve never met George, but always enjoy listening to his interviews. Being born in 1975 and growing up northeast of KC, George was my first favorite MLB player. I loved how he played the game with passion and grit. Super clutch when it came down to being in a position to win the game. Once George retired, there were a lot of talented players that were on the Royals roster. It was a pleasure to see Moose and Hoz (along with several others) come up and help turn the Royals into winners again. Thanks to all involved in both of KC’s world championships.

I saw George Brett, in person, play as a rookie. Saw him several more times. He played hard. Not flamboyant, but he played hard. Watchin him hit, he was one of the few that you just always felt, this pitcher is at a disadvantage. I never enjoyed watching anyone hit more than I loved watchin George. So much respect for the way he played the game.

I’ve got a 2012 Spring Training HR Ball from Hoss that He signed for Me on the way out during the 6th or 7th inning
He was there signing for a group of about a half dozen 7-9yo down the LF line and I came up & asked Him
“ Hey Hoss , Ya think You could sign this ball You hit out for Me ? “
No words , just grabbed it & signed it
    I said Thank Ya Sir
    & that was that
Now I have an Hoss HR Ball signed by Eric
Not often You get the chance to have the Guy who hit it out also sign it for Ya.

31:57 it’s funny the three guys with the hugest average are the lowest swing speeds. Dorks are taking over the game

George is a treasure, and I'm certain it was a load off his shoulders to not have to be Mr. Royals any more once the 2014/2015 seasons happened and the WS came back to KC.
    Cheers boys.

George's brother was my landlord in Redondo Beach, 1989-90. His brother Ken was my bartender at P.J. Brett's. George was there every night in the off-season. It was awesome. I knew his dad, rough dude. Kemer was a great gentleman. Man, were there some gorgeous ladies there. Bud Biancalana is one of my best friends. George told me he would not talk to me because I was a USC Trojan and Rod Dedeaux offered a ride to somebody else.

@@DigginDeepPodcast I'm an older Royals fan and I hate to pick an ex-royal, but John Mayberry or Willie Wilson would be pretty good. I've heard Jaime Bluma and he's a pretty good interview. That's a tough one, there are so many.

I remember Moose hitting a lot of pitches to the opposite field all the sudden in whatever year that was, he really made some changes in his approach and you could tell. He really became a solid #2 hitter for a while

Guys. Great show again. The information shared by your guests and yourselves is priceless👍🏼 I coach high school ball and teach hitting. I learned via Matt Nokes. He’s a great dude and knows hitting like no one else I’ve seen. George hit on so many things that Matt & I teach. Unfortunately today’s players don’t want to hear it and all believe swinging up on the ball is how pros do it. You guys are lucky to have had George as your hitting coach for a minute while you played. Try to find a way to give that knowledge to some of these young guys coming up. It’s not easy to get them to ‘buy in’ but if you can connect with even one player, you’ve paid it forward👍🏼
Keep up the great content 👍🏼 Best show out there guys👍🏼

Please in the name of baseball, make more similar content! Great video, amaizing to see and hear George talk about baseball. Baseball is behind on media content, Bauers channel is every young pitchers dream, there is no excelent channel for hitting, players/legends talk. Thx for making this.
