I know Bruce didn't like the band recordings of the Nebraska songs, but Highway Patrolman really sounds great with discrete band contributions! It sounds somewhat halfway between the '82 outtake A Good Man Is Hard To Find (the closest we can get to an "E Street Band Nebraska") and future '87 songs like Walk Like A Man or When You Need Me due to Bruce's voice that clearly matured in '84 compared to '82 and was leaning towards his late 80s singing style! Brilliant performance, I love the more intimate, depressed studio version but this live version is just thrilling!
“Man turn’s his back on his family, well he just ain’t no good.” I’m pondering who Springsteen is talking about here. I don’t think he is talking about Frankie.
Superb song sung and played beautifully by Bruce and the band. This man's talents are endless, lyrical genius 👏
Perhaps the best version I have found so far. Amazing skills. Bruce is such a genius and treasure.
We saw him in 1984 in Atlanta Ga, This was one of the highlights
of the show
with the ' "Sessions", it's not to bad ;-) !!!
Pure magic!
Una maravilla!!!

Cool song. Johnny Cash version with Hoyt Axton is mighty good too.
964 views man, almost seems criminal.
