    The Grenadier did pretty well with what you threw at it. Nothing too hard, but not so easy people will be saying, "I could've done that in my Camry!" What I found most impressive was, as the vehicle's suspension was articulating and jouncing through the ruts and bumps there were absolutely no squeaks, rattles, creaking, groaning, etc. Considering the twisting that was going on, that speaks volumes to the build quality of the truck.
    I've wheeled in series Land Rovers and Jeeps and they always had a little something to "say" when going over obstacles. Nothing wrong, per se, just talking to you about what they were doing at the moment. This truck was just straight bored, "Yawn! What else you got?"
    I like that. I've got serious issues with this rig in other areas, but this was nice to see. Thanks for putting this one out there.

      @DavesIneosGrenadier 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +8

      If the Rubicon works for you then that is great. It isn't a love it or hate it situation. He has centre, front and rear lockers and at no time did he need a sway bar disconnect system to get past the obstacles. If you went to some much more difficult spots possibly sway bar disconnect would help. Sway bar disconnect is really an American thing which for some reason hasn't been needed in other countries. Maybe you do more rock crawling compared to rough tracks and overlanding.

      @@DavesIneosGrenadier I would install manual disconnects. It is more comfortable on the trail (less snap back), less tire lifts in the rough stuff and really just one less thing fighting the working of your suspension. It also prolongs the life of your swaybar bushings and links to have it disconnected offroad.

You are right again by showing what most of us experience when driving off road. Most off road vehicles can handle the type of road you just drove over as long as they clearance and good tires.

    Love these trucks. I’m skeptical to get one though because without the modern TC system, you have to use lockers and lockers are pretty bad in the snow other than certain situations. From my experience, TC systems work better in those environments. Lockers do have their place in everything else though and are superior. I just wish they allowed you to have both options.

      I have two Grenadiers and a Quartermaster on order. I sold two 200 Series Land Cruisers, 2013 and 2021 that I swore I never would but just assume throw rocks at after owning the first Grenadier for just days. The Grenadier Traction Control on road and selectable “Off-Road” mode works exceptionally well. Mechanical lockers are a bonus and should be used sparingly, especially in the front as a rule.

    • @atomicsmith
      @atomicsmith 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Who’s told you lockers are bad in snow? This is also a full time four wheel drive system. Lots of old Subaru’s got around just fine before traction control using just full time four wheel drive. If you get in a pickle you just lock 1 or 2 differentials and you will not be in a pickle any more…

    • @overlandPNWGX
      @overlandPNWGX 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ I know it from experience. It’s also easily found in TH-cam snow reviews. There are times to use lockers in the snow but it can lead to sliding sideways on embankments and other bad situations that involve turns.

    • @atomicsmith
      @atomicsmith 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ I just searched for these reviews and only find videos of people showing how good lockers are in snow (because they are). Would love to see a video showing them worse than open diffs…
      Any situation like an embankment where you slide sideways with locked diffs, you would also slide sideways with open diffs.
      You also didn’t address the main point: full time four wheel drive. Lots of vehicles were extremely capable in snow using just full time for wheel drive before TC was a thing. Subarus, Audis, LC80s, range rovers, just to name a few.

    • @overlandPNWGX
      @overlandPNWGX 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ literally had a 4Runner slide off the trail last month because he was using his rear locker. The rest of the ones who didn’t use theirs were fine.
      There are times of when and when not to use your locker in the snow. Going straight up a hill is fine but when a bank angle is involved it can be worse. I have lots of snow wheeling experience.
      The vehicles you speak of with open diffs still had torsion limited slip diffs or something similar.

    Mr. Hardy “Off Road Mode”! I unsubscribed and ended my Patreon support for TFL because of their idiotic coverage of this vehicle and the breaking their promise to keep it for one year long term review. The Ineos Grenadier is the most important and significant 4X4 car in two decades and Roman can’t deal with the over speed warning chimes, nonsense, stupid and a disservice to us.

    • @BenHardyCars
      @BenHardyCars  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don’t use off-road mode so that I can use the backup camera. I didn’t have a spotter.

    • @SaltShack
      @SaltShack 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ OK. There is a procedure to allow the backup camera in off road mode but you can also just turn it off if you really need the camera. I’ve just been extraordinarily impressed with the capabilities in Off-Road Mode and it’s the first thing on when the tires hit the dirt.

      Not sure about that. I have found Grenadier owners very genuine. I did not find that in the Toyota or Nissan Communities. Even Ram can be a little Fanboy. But owners hold Ineos feet to the fire on everything, and actually take these things to the limits asap.

      I didn’t preorder because of the BMW engine. I own two now and have a Quartermaster on order. The B58 is rock solid and reliable at double the horsepower. A few quirky preventative maintenance items must be addressed but I’m so convinced I sold two 200 Series Land Cruisers 2013 and 2021 that I swore I would never sell but just assume throw rocks at now after owning the Grenadiers.
