    Well he's right about the inspiration from Bleach. The author of Jujutsu Kaisen is heavily influenced by Tite Kubo because of reading Bleach. He's also really liked HxH, and NGE. So it makes sense the show is like that.

    The thing about agaragi and hachikugi. Yes he does grope her, but its sort of framed in the way of play fighting like how he fights with his younger siblings, so the relationship between the two feels very juvenile. And it's a mix of agaragi teasing her for being cute girl and hachikugi snapping at him for treating her like a little kid.
    But also she is a ghost that doesn't age and has been for 10 years. As such her personality is far more mature than she looks at times which is reflected in zoku mongatari and see the older version of hachikugi and also when they time travel back in time to save her in monogatari season 2 then travel back to the present day and see the real aged hachikugi if she hadn't of died. Also just the bond between the two throughout the series is just really sweet. Agaragi really looks out for her like a big brother and saves her multiple times.
    Which is only excentuated by the final scene between the two in owarimonogatari. That is probably the scene I cried the most to in the whole show. It was really sweet.

      I mean its hard to argue for it. It is problematic looking at it on a surface level. But it's hard to criticise it as the show does a really great job at getting you to love both of these characters.
      And although the show might have some controversial stuff in it. It's still one of the greatest animes of all time.

    bruh that Monogatari question is a bit of a heavy topic and rather controversial but it all comes down to how it is presented and what is the intention. As a Monogatari fan myself, Joey answered it best, it's not that deep and we too agree that the act of groping is disgusting. Problematic media such as Monogatari only had that aspect at the tip of the iceberg and made fun of it. The series has so much more to offer and a lot of people agree on that.
    I think the video "The Problem With Problematic Media | Monogatari" by Under The Scope talks about it very well and I recommend watching to those who watch the series and didn't know how to feel about the problematic aspects of the show.

    • @Jennypogi
      @Jennypogi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@peacefulbystander847 On the surface level it may seem like that. But once you analyze it you start to see how deep its thematical implications are on the story. Joey is a person who will very much notice these thematic undertones to each fight and will appreciate jjk more because of it.

    • @peacefulbystander847
      @peacefulbystander847 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Jennypogi I'd just like to make sure, but how many shounen have you read? Because I once again agree with the points you're making. But once again, I've just seen it done before about as well. I mean no disrespect to you or JJK, but I'm just curious. Because I feel that manga like Demon Slayer and MHA got popular in part due to the fact that a bunch of their fans were new manga readers, and hence were not yet tired of the many repeated tropes prevalent in battle shounen.

    • @Jennypogi
      @Jennypogi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@peacefulbystander847 Probably around 10. I mostly read seinen and romance. The manga I have read(not including anime) is probably around 40. Fights in those other 2 series that you have mentioned are much more straightforward, in jjk each fight has underlying messages and themes, another reason is how tasteful the fights occur. Shibuya arc is a culmination of what the jjk series has been building up to. Unlike other shonens wherein arcs like these are just non stop fighting. Fights in the shibuya arc actually have a goal and happen when they need to happen. Not to mention all the moments in between fights that characterizes and personifies our characters in lots of ways. Jjk does shonen well, and in the shibuya incident it practically perfects the formula of battle shonen. I really do believe Joey will garner a newfound appreciation for the series because although while the jjk story may not be its strongest point, its execution and understanding of the battle shonen genre is top tier.

      ahhh yeahhh, I do think he fumbled a little there - he did state that a lot of elements of monogatari are supposed to parody anime and some of the formulas or stereotypes commonly found in anime, and the whole groping thing is something we do see in anime a bit, and it is in fact being parodied in monogatari to showcase that this kind of stuff sucks, in a sense, but it really did not need to be children and the original question discussing how there is almost 0 back lash for this, is quite interesting because it's true! I don't see anyone heavily discussing this aspect and I actually never saw backlash about this until it was brought up by someone at SMASH

    • @NobuSouji
      @NobuSouji 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@thetkennedy The thing about why there is barely to none backslash in comparison to Meliodas is, is because Seven Deadly Sins speaks to a way broader audience than Monogatari. It's harder to get into but utterly rewarding, not like SDS imo. And he also sad "It's not that deep" because it isn't. Sure for some it's strange seeing stuff like this, but the ones that watch and enjoy Monogatari just watch it and thing nother more than it's comedy. It's fictional after all.

    The best live action remake was ghost in the shell, don't care didn't ask + ratio. yes it's muddles the timeline but much of the message or soul of the story is still there, also was Motoko actually asian? serious question, I suppose i'm reaching for a technicality but what if they just made the android non-particular in their ethnicity? not saying they did or they should my point is what does it matter, who even cares, it's a robot and her aesthetic shouldn't bare on the story or themes anyway, and so even saying she should've looked asian is questionable as well.
