    Matt, in the short time I had watching your videos I have enjoyed them very much.
    One thing I have learned from life, it is that "Life is short". As I comment on a
    previous video..... I've suffered 5 heart-attacks, this last one was massive..
    I was lucky I had it in the doctor's office while taking a "stress test". While it is
    important to do what we like to do, it is also important to think about our family.
    You've a beautiful family Matt, a beautiful wife and a very beautiful daughter. That
    daughter loves and needs her daddy in her life right now. She will grow up so fast.
    Before, you know she will be a teenager and than a lovely young girl. Do your travels
    but spend as much time with your family as you can. I have 2 daughters and one son.
    My oldest daughter is 52, my son is 50 and my youngest is 45...………. Wow Matt,
    I am old ( I am 70 but thank God I do not look my age) nor do I act my age. Yes,
    Matt enjoy and have fun in what you do but always have time for Annie and Eva.
    I am sorry to hear about your dad passing. As you know I loss my dad in 2016.
    May 2019 be the best for you and your family. May God bless you in everything you
    do in 2019, you deserve it. You worked hard for it. You have motivated me to do
    something in my life. Thank you Matt for your video. They have been inspirational.

    😵 I have already been watching your videos for so long. Time goes by so fast.
    I still remember standing in the kitchen and making food while crying and watching one of the last if not the last video with your dad. :<
    Hearing you read out all of those events.... I think I finally understand the phrase "living through someone".. You're the most interesting on-going thing in my life right now and for the past I ~1.5 years..? 😭
    Love ya, Matt. JaYoe, and let's hope this year has a lot more time on the road!

    Its been quite a year! Its a good discipline to look back. It makes looking forward come into focus. Something your dad said that I reflect on frequently is the question: Are we living? Your adventure is about working toward that worthy goal in your own way every day. You set a great example! JaYoe!

      Matt, Great review, sorry about your dad, I really liked him. Keep up the great videos in 2019.
      But be careful riding in towns, you scare me sometimes. I only ride my trike on paved trails.

    Honestly, the last leg of the jayoe tour really reminded me more of the ORIGINAL tour. It was VERY nostalgic and I really enjoyed it. No matter what you do, you have to also make videos for yourself and your family to reflect on. There will be seasons, and just like in life. :-)

    A lot of things have been thrown into your way in 2018. But you made the best of it, and that is also part of "The Journey". I appreciate all you shared during last year and look forward to watching you continue The Journey in 2019.
    I'm also more cycling and travel orientated, but also like all the other videos. It's authentic and that's what makes your channel special. Thanks for everything.

    I empathize with the loss of your dad. It makes me try to accept the passing of my parents while they are still alive so that I may live each moment with them as though they may be the last.

    I actually liked China more. Taiwan was too easy, too western, too modern, too touristic. Even I could do that. But a bedroom with no glass windows in some village in the middle of nowhere, that for me is interesting to watch. So whether you like it or not, I love seeing you suffer a bit in primitive conditions.

    I am following you for the last 2 years or more. I think I have seen 99% of them on the day you posted them. There is one exception which for me is of less interest: aquariums and gear videos. I was originally interested in people living in China. So I first found Winston, then Matthew and at another time also you. What has been so interesting for me? Actually the mostly positive way you have to encounter people and difficult situations. Where I would have enough, you try to find the positive side of the sh.. you are in. There have been situations for me where I was thinking about you, how you would have dealt with it. In your last video you asked for advice- as it seems that you are not happy with your viewing numbers. Let’s be honest, your videos are like a soap opera, it is following a guy through his life. 2018 was rough for you, you still kept your head high, I admire that. All your videos are the real Matt ( I assume). Mostly you are the optimistic Matt, sometimes you have your lows, sometimes you are philosophical Matt. But when I watch your videos, I see you are showing your reality. When I watch Matthews or Winston’s, then I know I only see what they want to show us. It is all staged. Your videos newer appeared to be staged. I also like how you are respecting The China you live in. Recently you know the two other guys seem to have found less love to China. I think in your case, you are making good advertisement for this country, because you leave politics out, which I think is smart. My suggestion to you is: just continue to have a real channel, don’t think to much how to please the others. Just be persistent to your style. I think you hardly find that here. Ok, you have 3000 viewers like me per video. So it is just that those 500.000 have to find you, not you need to find them. It is just a question of time. With every video you are going into that direction. Happy new year to you and your family from a regular viewer who knows a lot of you, while you know actually nothing about me, strange....

    • @JaYoeNation
      @JaYoeNation  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      you have 3000 viewers like me per video. So it is just that those 500.000 have to find you.... i like that... and i agree with you a lot on that as well. the thing is trying to get the right sets of eyes finding you. Because i am a soap opera... jumping in at the middle can be hard for people.. so creating videos that can appeal to people on the outside of the loop so they can be brought in is key.. i think. Appreciate the kind words... JaYoe! (yea.. youtube is strange. many people know almost everything about me and i have never met them.)

    • @stephankrue1975
      @stephankrue1975 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the JaYoe Nation in your case I assume that it is more choosing the right title (which is useful when people search for certain topics). I guess one of your problems is that because it is a kind of soap opera, you are creating a kind of intimacy. In your videos you talk to us as if we know each other. Someone new might feel confused and might feel as if he is watching “Guiding Lights”, “Days of our Lifes” or “Bold and Beautiful “ after season 24....what I mean: joining your soap is maybe challenging for many. But if you are once in, you stick. I assume you have very stable viewer numbers. I assume that more general videos with a certain topic might find more viewers, those who do not need to know details about your life. As a suggestion: maybe after your daily vlogs, you create a summary video of your travel with a more general title. “Cycling around Japan, Taiwan” - a 20 minute video of your highlights. You could in the end invite everyone to join your daily vlogs. Catching viewers are mainly over the titles. if you put more attention to the clicks, then more general videos are the solution, I assume. But I think what you have is a viewer base which is emotionally following you. I don’t think that is the case with many others.

    As you are striving for viewers... how about making a 5 minute video of your year 2018 - that would explain a lot to those who are looking first time into your channel. This might also help you: socialblade.com/youtube/user/roguelifestudios/videos/mostviewed
    Seems people are especially interested in China...reef tanks.... so more general titles bring viewers
