@@duckendpictures4085Hi Peter and Paul, it's been so long since I worked in television lost all my contacts! If John Howard Davies was still a producer at the BBC, I might ve been able to put in a word!! It's all changed since t v Centre closed. If it went to commercial TV, there d be so many ads, it would ruin the story line!! 😒 All the best for 2020 anyway
That's very kind. Thank you so much - it's good to know that people are enjoying our films. There's a new story planned for next year. Cyril and Daisy have read the script and it has met with their approval. We have offered them a fee of 9/6 but they are holding out for ten bob each - I'm sure a compromise can be reached.
When we visited England in 1968 people were making 8mm films. They called them "bootlace". I am happy to see that the Brits are still at it with more modern video equipment. Thanks for the great production. Cheers from Texas.
Thank you so much for all your very kind comments - we really do appreciate them. It makes it worth the effort as this film was a complex one to make, particularly because we do not use special effects. Getting everything co-ordinated, and in the dark, was quite a labour of love. Now we will take a break and perhaps start thinking about another story for Cyril and Daisy, who are snugly packed away for the winter!
Duck End Pictures This could make tv God knows we need something charming. I loved the one about the ashes. WlI felt sorry for poor tibbles and how ironic he wound up in the fishpond, no doubt a frquenter and predator of it. Poetic justice served????? The production is so elegant asis the Ivatt C1 They alwats remind me of a well to do old victorian lady
I, for one, am looking forward to more. These are great little films. Very entertaining :) I think the sounds are one of the key ingredients for setting that tone. Thanks for sharing.
A friend and I bought the copy of "Juniper Junction" we could find and we absolutely adore it. We've been trying to get our hands on a copy since we saw the preview in 2011. The scenes and imagery of people, trains and animals enchant us and we consider your little film a treasure. Thank you for making it : )
I must say that the painstaking effort put into staging, filming and editing this shows in the final product. Excellent quality throughout, I thuroughly enjoyed it. I'll make sure to share this with my friends as it clearly deserves more recognition!
A fantastic effort by the team that is really appreciated. Great camera shots creatively positioned to add to the nostalgic atmosphere. Loved t - thanks. I lived in Stafford for 15 years and listened to the bells of St Mary’s Church for many years throughout the Seasons and this reminded me of them. Great stuff and thanks for sharing
Very entertaining ! So much atmosphere, you've captured the feeling of the night perfectly and the weather was nicely captured, well done guys ! More Enjoyable and better made then anything on TV !
I'm still working in the business even though retirement was supposed to mean inside, feet up with no heavy lifting, so it was with deep joy I took my break and watched your latest piece of the Cyril and Daisy story. Glad to see they are keeping well. Excellent and detailed work just about made my day. Thanks.
Having just started collecting my Hornby O gauge clockwork, l came across your lovely little films. You have caught the atmosphere, period and most importantly the imagination. What wonderful little films, and in their own right are up there with Wallace and Gromit! Thank you for the entertainment.
What a wonderful video - a lovely night scene reminiscent of Day Trip To Duck End (the VHS tape still shows a clear image) and magical effects with the snow. The TPO scenes are excellent and fantastic to see the wonderful LNWR given centre stage once more. Well worth waiting for
Thank you. We're pleased that you remember Day Trip to Duck End as that was the start of it all. The railway has developed quite a lot since those days, but we have tried to maintain the gentle philosophy of the original film.
You most certainly have maintained the gentle glow of a lost world so beautifully captured by models contemporary to the now lost full size originals and bring back the aura of the pre-grouping age most subtly and encapsulate it all in stories which reflect the experiences and artistic expressions of the era.
Magnificent film making as per usual, incredibly atmospheric; I shivered for the guard at the first station. Cyril's a gentleman who literally goes the extra mile.
Love the "Season tickets to be shewn" sign. Good old fashioned spelling! Another amazing video, seriously rivalling Nick Park's early low budget stuff. Very creative sound and lighting to create the perfect atmosphere. Thank you!
I love it I already saw the beautiful carette coaches, but the traveling post office is one of my favorites. You captured a great feeling to it a lot of work but so worth the effort.
I'm very sad to report that my great friend and one half of Duck End Pictures, Peter Strange, died suddenly on Sunday 19th April. It was Peter's beautiful garden railway in Oxfordshire, and his ever growing collection of exquisite Bassett-Lowke rolling stock, that inspired the 'Cyril and Daisy' stories. Over the years we had enormous fun together, spending the winter months creating the stories and planning the filming sequences, building sets and filming indoor scenes. By May we were ready to move outside and play with the trains. Together we sometimes laughed till we cried at the absurdity of the adventures of these two little people. We always felt that the fact that they couldn't actually move required extra thought and informed our creativity. The films were a genuine collaboration; we each contributed in our own way. I will look back with great pleasure on the fun we had together. We were always very pleased to receive positive comments about the films - so a big 'thank you' for making the effort to post on here. It was good to know that there are others who shared our whimsical sense of humour. Sadly, there will be no more Cyril and Daisy films. However, I have two sequences nearly completed from our next film which I will edit and post as an unfinished project in the next few weeks. Paul Rhodes
I’m so sorry for your loss. I’ve only just fallen across your little films and have been entranced by them. It’s so sad that there will be no more. Thank you for letting me enjoy these wonderful creations, once again my sincere condolences and RIP Peter.
What an exceptional video production! Thank you so much for this and your other productions. I would love it if you introduced yourselves in a video. Brilliant work, thanks!!
Thank you for all the very kind comments about our film. I am pleased to say that Cyril and Daisy are keen to make another film in 2018, and a script has been agreed. We are going to make a start in the spring, and hope to have it ready to release in the Autumn.
Absolutely wonderful! Thank you for all the hard work that has gone into making this such a joy to watch. Just one question, what was meant to be in the parcel, or is that a secret? Kind regards, Bob K.
Thanks for the kind comment - we're so pleased that people are enjoying our films. As to what's in the parcel, we're not entirely sure but knowing Cyril we suspect that it might be half a pound of sausages.
Thanks for your enquiry. Yes, you are right. The films available here on TH-cam were all made by Peter Strange and Paul Rhodes. Previous to this, Peter had worked with another Peter, Peter Bicknell, to produce two films which were produced on DVD. 'Day Trip to Duck End' was produced in 1995, and 'Return Ticket to Duck' two years later. The characters Cyril and Daisy originate from these earlier films.
What a unique way of showing your system. So creative, you have captured the real railway atmosphere. Such a professional production. Well done.
Watched this again at Christmas, it should be be shown on t v every year along with the Snowman!!! An award winning video 👍
Many thanks for your very kind comment. Do you know any commissioning editors!

Brilliant. Particularly enjoyed the touches of humour and the details (wax on the parcel etc.)
I really enjoyed watching this. It was brilliant and so well done.. Thank you so much for producing it. I'm sharing it with my friends. Such fun.
Brilliant! I really like all your Cyril and Daisy tales and your vintage Bassett-Lowke garden railway, can't wait for the next episode!!!
That was and is quite BRILLIANT - 👍🇬🇧

What a delightful "pro duck shon", well done. You created beautiful angles and atmosphere. I enjoyed the journey.
I love it I already saw the beautiful carette coaches, but the traveling post office is one of my favorites. You captured a great feeling to it a lot of work but so worth the effort.
Lovely, really beautiful. Congratulations 😀👍
I really enjoy your work in model cinema. After a year of waiting, finally another great video. Thanks for making and posting them. Peter.

Is that real snow?
Hi Patrick, no - we managed to borrow a theatrical snow machine. However, the film was made in early December and it was very cold!
@@paulrhodes897 what scale are those trains on your layout
The trains are Gauge 1, mostly pre First World War tinplate models.

Wonderful. Please dont ever use special effects because they are not special. This is magic.
