Just a guess that when the wheels first hit the grass and started sinking in (At 109 knots), the wheels compressed the grass and mud shooting it forward and up over the wings. There is a LOT of weight pushing down on those wheels, plus its forward trajectory. Just look at the size of that aircraft as the firefighters are walking around it.
Wow. Excellent footage. When I first heard about this incident yesterday, I immediately thought of you, et. I was hoping that you would be able to get out there and get some footage. Thanks so much. :) Also very thankful for all of that soft runoff area at the end of that runway. Looks to me that that was a key contributor to this being a "happy ending", in that all on board made it out safely. :)
I'm glad nobody was hurt . Your coverage is great I will follow the updates . Long time eye trapper fan so Merry Christmas and Great New Year ! from IAD Sterling Va
Great video of this unique mishap. I was hopeful you made it to the scene , even at night. You can clearly see the blanked out windows on this ex Qantas ex Westjet plane. ,😮
Sad to see this. There was another Prime 767 that crashed into the bay in Feb 2019. 15 miles from me here not far from Houston IAH. Serious business. Thanks for the Video Trap Nice work Dave
that was unfortunately the direct result of DEI with the FO that cost all 3 of their lives. so tragic. seriously. this was the genuine conclusion. CFIT due to FO pilot's sheer ineptitude due literally to his employment as a result of DEI.
TOO BAD u weren't there to catch this incident on video!!! would have been incredible for you and incredible footage!! ! + very helpful for the investigation
Asymmetrical slats and a closed 8R maybe a diversion might have been a better option but great job by the crew either way during weather and mechanical
Not every day we get to see a crash documented in this quality, great video!
Great video 👌👌👌. Thankfully crew made it out safe

Customer: Why's it all muddy?
All joking aside, thanks for capturing this event, eye trapper.

Can’t Believe It😯😮😲✈️💥!
👀 Oh my Lord
Everyone in action to help them 🙏
gosh, the crew did made it out alive!
Sh!te happens. This is life. Glad to hear the crew are alright
my questions is how are they gonna get it unstuck and out? crane ? and will you be filming them getting it unstuck ?
I'm sure the pilots had to buy some new pants after this one. Glad they are all unharmed.
"asymmetric slat deployment", so mechanical failure and not "Pilot botched landing" like I saw elsewhere.
Asymmetrical slats and a closed 8R maybe a diversion might have been a better option but great job by the crew either way during weather and mechanical
I kind of wish we could have seen this landing but the dirt and grass on the wings and engine cowls tell the story
in this case what happens to all the cargo and how bout perishable cargo
WHERE THE F IS MY HAIR STRAIGHTENER, AMAZON!? lol
oh man; imagine the boss getting a call from the pilot @ 2 a.m. "you did WHAT?"
The landing gear of the airplane is fixed now
Oops!Nice job👍
Don’t look like the reversers were deployed. They are stowed in these shots
Muito bom vídeo like do brazil parabéns
Why is my package delayed?
So asymmetrical slat deployment was a mechanical fault or pilot one
OMG 😞
I miss your monthly videos from YVR.....
