      Thanks Ivan, good stuff as always. As a looong time S1 user, I must admit that their continued focus on the mix and master side of the equation is disappointing. After version 5 did little for beat makers or producers, I was hoping 6 would give us something to get excited about. I was about to join Sphere, but with 6, I put that off again. I understand that their focus is and has always been the studio engineer and the studio musician, and that hardware is a core part of their business. I was just hoping they would add something interesting to the digital creator side. That being said, and IMHO, I still believe Studio One is the strongest DAW out there and it has been for years. And while it is arguably now well ahead of much of the competition, unfortunately it is rapidly adding features and gaining ground in places that are not that important to someone like me. I have all the video editors, EQs, vocoders and collaboration tools I need, and those feel like point release features. What I want are more interesting ways to create music, not just incremental improvements in the polishing and package of it. So for me, I'll hold off on 6, see what comes up in the next year in the mean time spend my time and money learning some of the other tools that I now wish I had invested in a few years ago. Much appreciation for all your continued contributions. I still use your tools and guides all the time.

      Hello, first thank you for all your informative videos! There are some handy features like the track presets, the dynamic EQ, channel icons(which are very limited by now, especially for electronic music) and the new color picker in version 6.1 But many nice features are still missing which are really helpful like a overall song navigation bar, ONE automation lane for macro knob controls, modulators like LFO, random for these and automations. Also the contrast between event borders, tracks and the playhead could be much better. I hope they will still improve Studio One also for sound designers and eletronic music producers like they did it with pattern editor as example. Especially improving the macro knob controls and adding per track free assignebal modulators would be really nice.

    I got Studio One 6 as a back up to Cubase 12 pro, Cubase work flow for me is drag and drop Midi with all VSTs and Midi generator Vsts the AI type/ 5 mins i got an idea down. I am on the monthly plan with Presonus Sphere. I own Cubase 12 pro. I love Cubase, but i do like Studio One 6. I am the type that likes the latest versions of what i own, including VSTs, Plugins ect. You rock Ivan and am glad i can connect with you when it comes to Studio One 6. Keep doing your thing bro. Am old school so i have to rock with the Steinberg Cubase Since 1989 being one of the first very popular MIDI sequencers in major studios. Steinberg defined the VST interface (Virtual Studio Technology) in 1996. To me Cubase is the best DAW to use but has issues becuase it does why too much... I enjoy what you do with your channel...One Love....MUSIC...

    I'm still on 4.6 Professional and decided to skip version 5, to hold out for the 6 cycle. Many of the things I asked for and even developed solutions for such as hiding parts of the GUI with a 3D overlay were addressed. Specific requests on Presonus Answers such as a video timeline with basic editing feature, and being able to remove tabs from the browser were implemented. Presonus included a vocoder which I coincidentally mentioned in a Studio One thread, and I complained about the quality of the UI text quality as well. So a lot of what I've communicated has been listened to and implemented in this release. As great as these things are, there really isn't a lot to set the fire alight to make it fun like clip launching, new instruments or updated Mojito, digital audio effects processing, an updated node effects system for audio and multi-instruments, Surround Sound. UI features such as customisable tabbed windows, and being able to detach the browser even and place it where you want on the screen. There is a lot to like but as you say it's not really as exciting as previous releases such as 3.0 / 3.5 / 4.0 / 4.6 and even version 5. It's more like a point 5 release, so until there are some significant updates to version 6, I'll be holding off for now unless I find a cheap offer for it.

    I thought the upgrade was mid unfortunately. I liked the mix channel overview, some quality of life tweaks to the starter page is cool I guess. Everything else seemed catered to attracting beginners for the most part.
    Would’ve loved their own version of a session/live loops, track midi pitching like FL, a better reverb like how they did with their analog delay which I liked a lot, a whole new powerful synth, fixed some crashing issues, and finally made it where each new track isn’t just a different variation of blue lol.
    All in all I was hoping they’d play more towards the seasoned modern electronic/hiphop/ reggaeton producer. I’ll wait for 6.5

      I was just saying that on a thread on Reddit, that if studio one had a clip launcher? session view likw Bitwig and Ableton, it would be the best... still, why don't many people use Studio One? I am fairly new to producing music and wish there were more tutorials outside of studio one for tips and workflows for different genres and all , and electronic music producers to collab with..

  • @ashmidnyt

    If you've never worked in the big studios with a booth and room for every performance - well, then you wouldn't understand the flip fader feature. It is a highly recommended feature when sending volume to a drummer, bass player | or | vocalist headsets without raising the volume in the mixing room or the rest of the band members headphones. Studio One just made it that much easier to set this up. So . . . it's in fact a very highly useful feature.

    • @ImIvanCalderon
      @ImIvanCalderon  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We’ve been able to do that already with cue sends though, which work in the same way as FX sends. Fader Flip is just another way to do the same thing but with added steps. That feature doesn’t fit my workflow but if it does for you then that’s great!

    As a Cubase user I think the mIxer channel overview is cool. It’s like channel settings in Cubase but not as deep. This was one of the reasons that I chose Cubase over S1 in the past. It’s good for the workflow that I like.

    Man, I’m a bit torn about it.
    The look and feel of it is good. But I was expecting more than a “5.7” like update. Plus STILL no Dolby or Surround.
    It seems like S6 just got a facelift and a few features.
    I dont see any video content makers truly using the new video features in S6 as well…it’s very minimal.

    I'm happy about the v6 update, dynamic EQ is a godsend! But why does Presonus still keep BLOATware like connecting with Soundcloud on the front page?? A dying platform with a bad rep, really?? I see that every time I open my daw, Presonus want to be associated with that?? and why pick them out of a hundred others, just because they partnered with them years ago? I would never want to hook up my daw with anything like that, get rid of it pls. Presonus should be able to stand-alone, or add some Fender bling or something. That would actually make sense. Still also need a native clipper, to handle problematic overs, and a widener plugin. I also would love an option for faders with a better resolution while mixing.
