as someone with pretty bad social anxiety myself, and considering how awful people can be online, I am kind of in awe of Marz and how she puts herself out there ... I don't think I could handle it
The discourse surrounding Death Stranding online has been insane.. so many people saying it's a bad game without even playing it, only seeing the first couple of chapters and thinking their thoughts are validated, when they couldn't be more wrong. The game was incredible. It keeps rewarding the player with more and more weapons and equipment even all the way up to the end of the game. The later chapters also start making everything in the story come together. Watching you play it, and seeing earlier scenes again, I'm realizing certain plot details were there from the beginning and make sense once you know what's going on.
First of all I like that you put this huge attention to your viewers, I applaud you for that. Second, do whatever you feel you are comfortable with, being it streaming or TH-cam. For Death Stranding, I didn't watch it cause I am still playing it. And honestly feel like it would be more fun to stream since you will be busy with the chat while you are delivering stuff. All the love and power to you Marz! Keep up the great work.

Marz, continue doing what makes you feel happy. I personally enjoy your videos. Even when I watch your Dark Souls play through, and you miss certain things, I try to drop a few suggestions that may help you, rather than get frustrated that you missed something one your first play through of a game. If people have negative feedback, and it's constructive feedback, take it into consideration. Ignore the negative feedback that comes off as trolling. Your fans have your back! Keep doing what you're doing!
What a trip... I started watching a few Twitch streamers in 2017 and of course YT for much longer and it has been really bizzare how the reaction you are describing is exactly the same for main Twitch streamers that start to try out TH-cam or Mixer when it popped up for the first time. The chat/followers started losing their minds mainly because of "the new factor"... and it was really strange to sit back and watch. I have had a blast with the two Twitch streams I have followed since 2017 as well as the couple of YT creators since that time as well. Different platforms that work completely different but both offering opportunities for some great fun. Whatever the creator decides to put her/his foot down on is what the chat/followers will have to go along with. I am a recent follower to your channel and it's been a blast and I enjoyed your first Twitch stream as well. Wishing you tons of continued fun and thank you for your time Marz.

It can be hard having to deal with toxicity, especially if you put so much effort in making it enjoyable for people to watch. It's overwhelming at times. I remember hearing Pewdiepie saying something like " I always listen to you guys, but if a do everything that you guys say the channel wouldn't be where it is today". I saw the Death Stranding stream live and it was super entertainig, that game works good for streaming, it leaves room to you to interact and engage with the chat more often compared to others games (like Control). Other than that I appreciate alot the effort you put in the edit of your videos and the fact that you don't just upload uncut footage. Keep being awesome girl !, don't listen to toxic people! I hope you will keep bringing us quality gameplays in the future.
I watched the vod of the stream on twitch and have to say that I didn't really like it. The game does have a lot of downtime to talk to people but at the same time talking to the community is distracting her from the story which is a huge part of this game. Marz was even aware during the stream that she wasn't as immersed in the game because of the chat.
Except it isn't a good streaming game because shes missing so much of the plot due to streaming and not being able to pay attention to conversations in-game. Even when my sister sits with me while i'm playing its more trouble to put effort into passing dialogue.
@@echoc2448 DT is actually an amazing game to stream for 3 rather big reasons 1. it hammer homes the story to such an insane degree that it's impossible to miss 2. the game is a snorefest 3. it's a glorified movie the game isn't like the soulsborne series..you don't miss things because you blink which is good, because the gameplay of DT is boring af and makes the game..difficult for most people to stay entirely invested in anyway now if you'll excuse me, i'm feeling tired and need to drink the only drink that'll survive the destruction of...pretty much everything else
I get why DS is so polarazing and personally I love watching you play it cause I love the game and am playing it myself, however you have to do whatever is best for you and I am sure people who actually enjoy the DS let’s play will understand your desition, just as I do!
Hey Marz, because of my schedule I very rarely get the chance to catch your stream, so personally love the idea of you uploading them as a video so I can watch them at a time that fits in with my life, but I totally understand where you are coming from on this point. I don't really use social media so I really like these short catch up videos, as it gives me chance to see whats happen with you and what your future plans are for the channel. Honestly, you gotta do you. In my opinion, I think you're doing a lot of games at once because you want to please different parts of your audience. You can not and are not going to please every single person, that's just not how things work. It's nice to see that you're so focused on doing what people want, but people want different things. I, for example, am excited that you're continuing Batman and want to do Star Wars, but at the same time, I'm not hyped for Dark souls 3 videos. And I'm not complaining nor anything, it's just that people think differently. It's a channel, you need to look after what series has more views and stuff, sure, but you gotta play the games you're interested in, and build up with the audience who wants that as well. I'm glad to see you're having that much fun with Dark Souls 3, and I'm considering watching just because of your enthusiasm. Death Standing really shares a lot of DNA with the Metal Gear series, but the roles the player starts with are so much different. In the Metal Gear series, you play as the best infiltration soldier for whatever job needs to be done, whether it's Solid Snake, Big Boss, or Raiden. In very brief terms you save the world from super weapons, whereas in Death Stranding you take on a contract messenger who is begrudging and constantly conflicted on what he's set out to do. Both are actually pretty similar in the social commentary of peace and what it means to do the right thing. I think it's great you're liking it because Hideo Kojima is capable of so many great games down the road. Also, he draws in so much from different cinema genres and is unmatched in bringing world building into his games. I even compare him with Rockstar a lot, because Sam and Dan Houser are really similar to Kojima in that regard. The research and effort put into Red Dead 2 is impressive in its own right, for example the cast took four years for voice work and motion capture. I just finished watching your playthrough of Red Dead Redemption 2 and it's so cool to jump from that into this crazy alternate universe in the future which meshes sci-fi, horror, destination, and drama into a truly unique Kojima experience.
Not going to lie, I'm sad that we won't get to see your reaction to Death Stranding's story (it gets incredibly emotional in the last half) but I totally respect your decision. Just keep doing what makes you happy! I'm also super excited for more Dark Souls.

Hey don't let your last Death Stranding video discourage you from the game. You'll enjoy the story, I think its just a game that requires so much attention to dialogue (which is to its detriment) that it isn't the best game for streaming cuz the smallest dialogue can tell you something important. Keep on streaming though if you enjoy it ! Planet zoo is a really fun game to stream cuz its super chill and doesn't require supreme focus like DS does. But whatever you choose I'd still watch it. Yes, I hope she'll continue Death Stranding on the channel. I watched Jacksepticeye walkthrough and his comment section was toxic as well and his reaction was "f**k you don't tell me how to play the game, I'll play the way I want" and people stopped complaining after that, so I hope Marz will not give up just yet and will give us and Death Stranding another chance 🙏
@Gladiator King not every game needs constant action but having intresting things to find in the world is important along with great side quest red dead 2 witcher3 and skyrim are great exsamples. death strand is empty and tendious which is its main problem.
it's tough to take charge on your decisions and be confident with them, but it's so crucial for making your brand. Your community is pretty solid and will only get better in the long run, so yeah you've got this!
Reasons I hate streaming: 1.Too much distraction to the streamers so they can easily fail to notice details. 2. Production quality is much worse than recording because there's no editing involved. Streaming videos also have low bitrate so they look rather blurry.

However, on the off-chance that you find this comment, I just wanted to let you know that the vast majority of your subscribers have subbed to you because of YOU, not the games you play. Personally, (and I'm sure I'm not alone) I've taken no issue with your upload schedule, nor the fact that you've been streaming parts of Death Stranding. The extremely opinionated, extremely vocal few that tend to comment on the majority of your videos do not represent the entirety of your audience. Play what you want to play, stream what you want to stream. Keep doing your thing! And don't worry so much about the comment section. On a side note, I loved Death Stranding and would love to see you finish it. I'd recommend cutting the filler-gameplay from your uploads and leaving in the story-focused parts. If that sounds like too much work for your upload schedule, then don't worry about it. Do whatever you think is right. We'll still be here, enjoying whatever content you decide to upload.
Don't agree. I'll only watch certain games, mostly games i've played myself to se her reaction. Also i wanna avoid spoilers from games i wanna play, but haven't yet (i.e. Death Stranding).
You could just focus on Death Stranding story stuff, it's not that long if you do. I think everyone would like to see your reactions to the story, you'll probably even cry at times. It's incredibly well done. Most streamers only use TH-cam as a way to archive their streams. When you're streaming, you don't need to stare at chat all the time, you are allowed to just focus on the game at times. But stop listening to the toxic manbabies crying over what game you play, they're not real supporters and they'll only become more demanding if you listen to them.

I'd personally love to see your reaction to Death Stranding's story. I think what a lot of people were getting toxic about is how you were talking to your stream over the dialogue in the game - which is where most of the story is told. I think if you switched gears again it'd be a good video. For example you can try talking to chat during the long walking times, in your bed/shower room, during a pause, a menu etc. Your audience just likes to see your reaction to story elements and they are frustrated if you miss it. It also might get you confused with the story later on in the game. Sorry that people were so mean about conveying that. I think you're great and I recently subbed and enjoyed a lot of your playthroughs. Keep it going!
Uploading streams or streaming in gerneral is not a bad thing. From what I read it just looks like they're more upset that you don't pay attention to the story behind the games you play. Yes, they like seeing you play, but they also want to see your reaction to the story. When you constantly talk to the chatroom during cutscenes it'll seem like you're "missing stuff" and viewers will think you're just not interested in the game and just using cutscenes to kill time. A helpful tip during live streams would be pause the chat, watch the cutscene, and then interact with your viewers and give your thoughts on what you just saw before you continue your gameplay.

As I watched this video, I had an idea in terms of your streaming. Seeing as it's quite a new experience for you, maybe playing something familiar would help so that people don't feel that you're missing out on stuff in the game? Honestly, I think many of us would love to see you stream Witcher 3, either with different build & choices than your first playthrough or just exactly how you fell in love with it. With the recent hype for the Netflix show, you could attract some new viewers as well that are interested in seeing how the game differs. And that passion we all know you have for it should guarantee that people are hooked for a long while. Just wanted to share =) Keep it up, you're doing great!
I've only recently found your channel (saw you for the first time in DS3 ep 1) and to be honest, I watched that to see how a new person would react to a game that I love. However, I stuck around because your rambly, down to earth commentary is so good to hear! You don't pander to your audience, you address them as people who have flaws, which is great. So keep doing what you're doing, and don't let people stop you. But don't just ignore them either, obviously.
For me personally, I don’t mind If you stream, but I suggest maybe a different game rather than story based games while streaming so you can both interact with chat and keep up with the pace of the game. Nonetheless you are still developing as a content creator, so take your time, we are always here for you.

Judging from the whole Death stranding situation, it might be better to only stream games that aren't story heavy. Or at least until you get more comfortable with streaming and are able to manage the chat and gameplay simultaneously. Either way I'm excited for future videos even if it does not include death stranding.

This is just my personal opinion. Is not about that wee aren't part of the chat in a uploaded stream, is about the disengagement that happens to us and to you, you miss a lot of important stuff because you're with the chat. Sadly I had to step away because what I look in your gameplays is the spontaneity of the moments and they get lost and spoiled by the chat of the stream. I have noticed that sometimes you know what's coming up next in a run because you were already spoil and you are ok with it. I will not gonna tell you what to do but I have to go. Newcomer speaking for myself, I love your videos and often my schedule won't allow me to catch your streams and most creators streams that I follow, but I still like to come and see the reuploads because it allows for and involvement even though its not immediate. Also do you girl! If you enjoy a game after starting it then your awesome personality will carry it through!
Very honest and from the heart, as it should be! I know most of it comes from the viewers, but it should also come down to what you want an what makes you happy! That's what matters!
That game is so long and repetitive, and requires a ton of reading. The people who like that game will love seeing it over and over, but I guarantee you the viewership would tank hard, and it would feel like a chore seeing it through to the end.

Not to mention everything chapter of the game presents new events, characters and several storylines progressing. Sorry its not dark souls, or spiderman but turn base rpg's kinda helped make gaming what it is now so put some respect on persona name.

I think what people are hating on (Death Stranding) is how dissmisive you are towards instructions and dialogues. I don't really mind that, it's kind of your charm being clueless xD Kojima also said that this game is meant to be played at your own pace, so maybe it isn't suitable for let's players. The problem is that game has polarized people so hard. There are a portion of gamers who hate on the game every chance they get because they don't seem to like people viewing it as art. Compound that with the regular amount of backseating you're going to get on something like that, and it's no surprise that it feels like so many people are against you when you try to play the game publicly.
Mike Rotch Haha, I don’t think that was the intention at all. Like Marz has stated multiple times, she’s a total newbie to a lot of the worlds she is being introduced in with these games. We saw it with Spidey, where she forgot controls throughout the game and didn’t get the hang of swinging completely until the back half of the game. That’s not a problem to many people. Many people watch those videos to see real, charming people be introduced to a fandom that they themselves are already a part of. Seeing someone fall completely in love with a world you’ve loved for years is so incredibly heartwarming and for me personally, it’s the best thing about being a fan of, well, anything. There are, of course, also other people who just want to see the game being played well for all the action. These people might be seeing let’s plays as glorified commercials for these games. Personally, I don’t think that’s fair but I’m just acknowledging that those people also exist and I think these are the people who get frustrated when people like Marz don’t immediately become a pro 20 minutes into a playthrough. So, yes, Marz can sometimes be a little clumsy in her playthroughs, but I think that as long as she’s enjoying what she’s doing, it doesn’t really matter what she’s doing. I know she keeps saying that it’s about the games (which it of course is), but I think most of us are mostly here because we care about her and we want to see her have fun. The fact that she has managed to build a community that constantly asks her how she’s doing and compliments her on her outlook on life should say enough. We like watching the gameplay, but hopefully the majority here cares about her as a person as well.

So you can't really hope that she nails everything perfectly, if you wanna see that just go watch a speed runner or some asian dude playing it blindfolded, with handcuffs and underwater v: I'm just saying enjoy it for what it is, she's just trying to have a fun time and make it as enjoyable as she possibly can. The discourse surrounding Death Stranding online has been insane.. so many people saying it's a bad game without even playing it, only seeing the first couple of chapters and thinking their thoughts are validated, when they couldn't be more wrong. The game was incredible. It keeps rewarding the player with more and more weapons and equipment even all the way up to the end of the game. The later chapters also start making everything in the story come together. Watching you play it, and seeing earlier scenes again, I'm realizing certain plot details were there from the beginning and make sense once you know what's going on.
First of all I like that you put this huge attention to your viewers, I applaud you for that. Second, do whatever you feel you are comfortable with, being it streaming or TH-cam. For Death Stranding, I didn't watch it cause I am still playing it. And honestly feel like it would be more fun to stream since you will be busy with the chat while you are delivering stuff. All the love and power to you Marz! Keep up the great work.

What a trip... I started watching a few Twitch streamers in 2017 and of course YT for much longer and it has been really bizzare how the reaction you are describing is exactly the same for main Twitch streamers that start to try out TH-cam or Mixer when it popped up for the first time. The chat/followers started losing their minds mainly because of "the new factor"... and it was really strange to sit back and watch. I have had a blast with the two Twitch streams I have followed since 2017 as well as the couple of YT creators since that time as well. Different platforms that work completely different but both offering opportunities for some great fun. Whatever the creator decides to put her/his foot down on is what the chat/followers will have to go along with. I am a recent follower to your channel and it's been a blast and I enjoyed your first Twitch stream as well. Wishing you tons of continued fun and thank you for your time Marz.

I saw the Death Stranding stream live and it was super entertainig, that game works good for streaming, it leaves room to you to interact and engage with the chat more often compared to others games (like Control). I watched the vod of the stream on twitch and have to say that I didn't really like it. The game does have a lot of downtime to talk to people but at the same time talking to the community is distracting her from the story which is a huge part of this game. Marz was even aware during the stream that she wasn't as immersed in the game because of the chat.
Except it isn't a good streaming game because shes missing so much of the plot due to streaming and not being able to pay attention to conversations in-game. Even when my sister sits with me while i'm playing its more trouble to put effort into passing dialogue.

Honestly, you gotta do you. In my opinion, I think you're doing a lot of games at once because you want to please different parts of your audience. You can not and are not going to please every single person, that's just not how things work. It's nice to see that you're so focused on doing what people want, but people want different things. I, for example, am excited that you're continuing Batman and want to do Star Wars, but at the same time, I'm not hyped for Dark souls 3 videos. And I'm not complaining nor anything, it's just that people think differently. It's a channel, you need to look after what series has more views and stuff, sure, but you gotta play the games you're interested in, and build up with the audience who wants that as well. Death Standing really shares a lot of DNA with the Metal Gear series, but the roles the player starts with are so much different. In the Metal Gear series, you play as the best infiltration soldier for whatever job needs to be done, whether it's Solid Snake, Big Boss, or Raiden. In very brief terms you save the world from super weapons, whereas in Death Stranding you take on a contract messenger who is begrudging and constantly conflicted on what he's set out to do. Both are actually pretty similar in the social commentary of peace and what it means to do the right thing.
I think it's great you're liking it because Hideo Kojima is capable of so many great games down the road. Also, he draws in so much from different cinema genres and is unmatched in bringing world building into his games. I even compare him with Rockstar a lot, because Sam and Dan Houser are really similar to Kojima in that regard. The research and effort put into Red Dead 2 is impressive in its own right, for example the cast took four years for voice work and motion capture. I just finished watching your playthrough of Red Dead Redemption 2 and it's so cool to jump from that into this crazy alternate universe in the future which meshes sci-fi, horror, destination, and drama into a truly unique Kojima experience.

Hey don't let your last Death Stranding video discourage you from the game. You'll enjoy the story, I think its just a game that requires so much attention to dialogue (which is to its detriment) that it isn't the best game for streaming cuz the smallest dialogue can tell you something important. Keep on streaming though if you enjoy it ! Planet zoo is a really fun game to stream cuz its super chill and doesn't require supreme focus like DS does. But whatever you choose I'd still watch it. I watched Jacksepticeye walkthrough and his comment section was toxic as well and his reaction was "f**k you don't tell me how to play the game, I'll play the way I want" and people stopped complaining after that, so I hope Marz will not give up just yet and will give us and Death Stranding another chance 🙏

it's tough to take charge on your decisions and be confident with them, but it's so crucial for making your brand. Your community is pretty solid and will only get better in the long run, so yeah you've got this!
Reasons I hate streaming:
1.Too much distraction to the streamers so they can easily fail to notice details.
2. Production quality is much worse than recording because there's no editing involved. Streaming videos also have low bitrate so they look rather blurry.

You could just focus on Death Stranding story stuff, it's not that long if you do. I think everyone would like to see your reactions to the story, you'll probably even cry at times. It's incredibly well done. Most streamers only use TH-cam as a way to archive their streams. When you're streaming, you don't need to stare at chat all the time, you are allowed to just focus on the game at times.
But stop listening to the toxic manbabies crying over what game you play, they're not real supporters and they'll only become more demanding if you listen to them.

I'd personally love to see your reaction to Death Stranding's story. I think what a lot of people were getting toxic about is how you were talking to your stream over the dialogue in the game - which is where most of the story is told. I think if you switched gears again it'd be a good video. For example you can try talking to chat during the long walking times, in your bed/shower room, during a pause, a menu etc. Your audience just likes to see your reaction to story elements and they are frustrated if you miss it. It also might get you confused with the story later on in the game. Sorry that people were so mean about conveying that. I think you're great and I recently subbed and enjoyed a lot of your playthroughs. Keep it going!

Uploading streams or streaming in gerneral is not a bad thing. From what I read it just looks like they're more upset that you don't pay attention to the story behind the games you play. Yes, they like seeing you play, but they also want to see your reaction to the story. When you constantly talk to the chatroom during cutscenes it'll seem like you're "missing stuff" and viewers will think you're just not interested in the game and just using cutscenes to kill time. A helpful tip during live streams would be pause the chat, watch the cutscene, and then interact with your viewers and give your thoughts on what you just saw before you continue your gameplay.

Seeing as it's quite a new experience for you, maybe playing something familiar would help so that people don't feel that you're missing out on stuff in the game? Honestly, I think many of us would love to see you stream Witcher 3, either with different build & choices than your first playthrough or just exactly how you fell in love with it. With the recent hype for the Netflix show, you could attract some new viewers as well that are interested in seeing how the game differs. I've only recently found your channel (saw you for the first time in DS3 ep 1) and to be honest, I watched that to see how a new person would react to a game that I love. However, I stuck around because your rambly, down to earth commentary is so good to hear! You don't pander to your audience, you address them as people who have flaws, which is great. Judging from the whole Death stranding situation, it might be better to only stream games that aren't story heavy. That game is so long and repetitive, and requires a ton of reading. The people who like that game will love seeing it over and over, but I guarantee you the viewership would tank hard, and it would feel like a chore seeing it through to the end.

Not to mention everything chapter of the game presents new events, characters and several storylines progressing. So don't try to jam content in a single video, play it at your pace and most importantly ENJOY IT :D

The problem is that game has polarized people so hard. There are a portion of gamers who hate on the game every chance they get because they don't seem to like people viewing it as art. Compound that with the regular amount of backseating you're going to get on something like that, and it's no surprise that it feels like so many people are against you when you try to play the game publicly.
Mike Rotch Haha, I don’t think that was the intention at all. Like Marz has stated multiple times, she’s a total newbie to a lot of the worlds she is being introduced in with these games. We saw it with Spidey, where she forgot controls throughout the game and didn’t get the hang of swinging completely until the back half of the game. That’s not a problem to many people. Many people watch those videos to see real, charming people be introduced to a fandom that they themselves are already a part of. Seeing someone fall completely in love with a world you’ve loved for years is so incredibly heartwarming and for me personally, it’s the best thing about being a fan of, well, anything.
There are, of course, also other people who just want to see the game being played well for all the action. These people might be seeing let’s plays as glorified commercials for these games. Personally, I don’t think that’s fair but I’m just acknowledging that those people also exist and I think these are the people who get frustrated when people like Marz don’t immediately become a pro 20 minutes into a playthrough.
So, yes, Marz can sometimes be a little clumsy in her playthroughs, but I think that as long as she’s enjoying what she’s doing, it doesn’t really matter what she’s doing. I know she keeps saying that it’s about the games (which it of course is), but I think most of us are mostly here because we care about her and we want to see her have fun. The fact that she has managed to build a community that constantly asks her how she’s doing and compliments her on her outlook on life should say enough. We like watching the gameplay, but hopefully the majority here cares about her as a person as well.
"how dissmisive you are towards instructions and dialogues", the problem is she does that ALL THE TIME, with every games. She dismisses what the game tells her, both gameplay instructions/tutorials and story/world explanations, at first it was kinda cute but it's becoming really frustrating to watch, particularly when she ends up complaining about stuff that wouldn't be an issue if she paid attention...
