@@guimazzo10 The bass seems pretty good but at the same time its hard to tell w/ out games that are actually optimized for the PS5 like the games will be in just under a week. Just the comfortability factor was enough for me to upgrade over the platinum's.
These were probably meant to replace the Gold Wireless headset which also cost $100...they will probably release a platinum pulse 3d headset down the road with a comparable price

Welcome! I had the same issue. While this was not a very comprehensive test it still gave me valuable information. The platinums will be updated to have the 3D as well but the Pulse 3D was designed for it plus it’s a newer headset with better tech built in. I’m glad I made the upgrade
I think you should hold off maybe try it yourself if possible or wait for more reviews with specs included because I have platinums I can hear all around me already in the games.

Haha thanks It wasn’t easy lol. It’s hard to talk with a headset on and record off a differ mic and not yell and be too loud. Once I get the PS5 I’ll do more directly off the system but it was easier to record this with my camera vs trying to edit it with shared factory and record through the headset for audio.
These are more comfortable than the Platinum's in my own personal experience. I thought the Plat's were pretty good but they would also hurt my head after awhile. I wore these for along time last night playing FF7 remake and the comfort was still there after hrs of playing. I will say if you were glasses it may be effected with pressing the ear pieces closer to your head but it was mildly noticeable for me last night on that aspect as well.
Just to clear the confusion. The headset doesn't actually produce 3D audio effect. It's the ps5 with its costume hardware and the tempest engine that creates the feeling of presence and locality or 3D. However, these headphones are designed to help produce that effect as good as possible.
@@Lethal_Venom I know, but in the video you mentioned how you heard a player open a chest behind you and never heard any other headphone sound like that so there must be some sort of tech in the headphones to produce that 3d effect without actually having the ps5
@@hbchillin1 The headphones do have 3D tech in them, the original comment on this is was misleading. The headphones produce 3D audio sound its that simple. The first comment on this was stating that its like a 3D effect b/c the sound only sounds like its coming from behind you VS sound actually coming from behind you as in a surround sound system. As far as I'm concerned its the same thing. This headset and surround sound systems Ive owned before sound the same as far as the immersive all around you sound
Thanks for your video! I also happen to have both and I am torn. Pulse definitely feels cheaper in hand than Platinum, which concerns me a bit towards durability. I still have to keep playing and testing but to me Platinum also sounds a bit richer? It is hard to describe, but Platinum sort of has a broader overall sound, if I am making any sense 😜. Pulse tend to offer more muted and encapsuled sound i believe. But as I mentioned I have to keep playing and testing.
They are both very good headsets for sure. I will say the sound is close but I give the nod to the Pulse due to it being lighter and more comfortable for longer gaming sessions.
I have the ps4 gold headset they're very good in terms of audio and mic to this day but the case broken many times that's why am hesitating about buying the new ps5 headset or buying the platinum for longer durability, any advice?!
@@youngtas3831 I have thousands of hrs on my platinum's and they are not broken. I do not forsee any issues with Pulse 3D. It all comes down to taking care of your stuff. If you are not hard on it and take care of them they wont break.

Been playing today for hours (in order to combat my election anxiety) and I can tell that for sure Pulse headset is way more comfortable, although the ear pieces are more squeaky than Platinum. I am getting used to the sound but I keep thinking that Platinum has a richer sound body
@@youngtas3831 i would go with Pulse since it is cheaper. Pulse cannot fold like Platinum does, which might make it a bit more durable? If you take care of them nothing will happen. My Platinum started to break on the ear foamy part, but it has been 4 years and still it looks great.
Thank you for doing this comparison. I'm looking at getting a new headset to get the 3D audio, but wasn't sure if I should look at the platinum as well as the pulse based on availability. Based on this, I'll definitely hold out until I can find the pulse!
Welcome. I believe they are a lot more comfortable than the Platinums. The sound quality is close but being more comfortable and cheaper makes them the better option in my opinion
weird question, do you have any ps2 games that you've downloaded for the ps store that work on your ps4? I wanna know if games like siren utilize the 3D audio
That I have not done, its a good question though. I do not think the older games would support 3D audio but I'm not 100% sure on how it all works either with 3D audio with older games.

That does not shock me at all. Even with all things being equal sound wise between the Platinum and Pulse ( even though I give the nod to the Pulse set especially when it comes PS5 games of which they were made for ) The comfortability factor is worth the upgrade on its own. I played a lot of FF7 remake after this video using these and never once did they get uncomfortable for me
@@shawng4886 I play a lot of Destiny as well and at times with the Platinum's my head was really killing me by the time I got done playing. These seem like a nice improvement.
The 3D does not work yet on these. The 3D sound will only be triggered when the TEMPEST engine kicks in. What you are hearing is only the difference between noice cancelled headphones on the new Pulse 3D in comparison to the platinum 3D headset that doesn't have the same isolation. This will result in better bottom and stereo field on the Pulse 3D. The pulse are 100 bucks and the Platinums are 160 bucks, they both do the same but one is premium and the new is a mid range product. Sony promised this will work with their high end headphones like the Platinum, so sit tight Platinum users. Cheers!

Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe the 3D pulse headphones themselves are capable of producing 3D sound alone which is why you can have 3D sound on the ps4 while the platinum cannot produce 3D, while the ps5 comes with the hardware necessary inside to allow it to all other headphones. So in theory the 3D sound might be a little more immersive on the pulse 3D when paired with the ps5 compared to normal headphones when paired to the ps5.
Agree. I believe there is more and better tech built into the Pulse which is making it sound a little better than the Plat's from my perspective but the real test will be when the PS5 is out and playing on those games. Even though the Plat's will be able to do 3D at that point I still don't think it will be as good of a headset as the Pulse. If that was the case then why even make the pulse in the first place , sony could have just kept the plat's and updated them with the PS5.
This is incorrect. Platinum does 3D audio already in Ghost of Tsushima, Uncharted 4 and Horizon. And since PS5 processes the 3D audio in the hardware itself, you should be able to use any headset, also the Platinum. Platinum was almost twice as expensive, so I don't believe there better tech in it. In fact: my Platinum sounds better on PS4 than the Pulse.
@@Sausbert Anytime something releases years after a similar product it will have better or improved tech built in. PS4 and PS5 digital are the same price yet are years apart in tech and advancements so you can’t make that argument based on price

I don't have access to a PS5 yet, but I think my Platinum sounds way better (more bass, more volume and basically a much "fuller sound") that the Pulse 3D when using it on PS4.

Thank you SO much for this video!!! I have a ps5 and I'm using the Platinum Headset currently. It sounds good but the comfort level leaves much to be desired. I'm probably going to pick up the Pulse now. I just have to find a place to dump my Platinums.
Thanks for watching! The pulse headset is a lot more comfortable than the plat's in my opinion. The sound quality is very close but I play long periods of Destiny and I've never had comfort issues with the pulse headset.
Think you might have made a minor mistake.You tested games that did not support 3d audio but aslo had the 3d mode switched on the platinum headset which would make the game sound different.
This was a test of how they sound in general. I clearly said I can’t wait for the PS5 to release ( when this was filmed ) to see how they sound with games made for 3D Audio and not an older game like destiny.
1 year later wich one I buy ? I do have a platinum almost 6 years , but is starting to cracking in the middle plastic . I mean I want some directional fps sound 3D effect

The sound on both is subjective I think they are both really close but in my opinion the pulse sounds a little better. The big difference for me was how much more comfortable they are over the platinums
@@Lethal_Venom That's interesting. Yeah I do find the Platinum headphones kind of warm after even half an hour or so. But for me the comfort end of it wouldn't be what drives me to buy the Pulse. I just wonder if for PS5 games I'm missing out on anything outstanding audio wise with the Tempest 3D audio technology they're boasting about. I know they said the Platinum is supported too. I guess I wonder how big the gap is. But as you said it's subjective.
@@mazlynn2 If you find the comfort of the Platinums ok I do not believe the sound difference is enough to make the jump. I play a lot of Destiny 2 and use a head set for extended hrs so the comfort level was a bigger factor for me

I only have experience with the Sony head sets but I did try out a friends Astro A50’s and those where nice too. I would not say any is drastically better over the other. I can say the Pulse 3D is quite comfortable. Astros were good too
To be honest, I always avoid buying the first edition of any new type of headset for a new generation like this. Just a few months from now your big boy headset manufacturers like Astro, steel series, and Sennheiser, will all have headsets that are more comfortable, have better sound quality, and more functionality and compatibility with more devices than this headset. The same thing happened with the PlayStation Gold headset when it first came out. Everyone jumped on the hype train and a few months later it got blown out of the water by every other manufacture on the block.
For me I did not need it for other devices, only my PS5. I've always been an early adopter of tech when it comes to gaming either being getting systems at launch or accessories like this headset and I've never had any issues with bugs or problems. The issue of how comfortable they are differs from person to person, some will find this headset to be excellent and some may not just as with all the other headsets you mentioned. I rode sportbikes for a lot of years and each helmet manufacturer was different as far as how their helmet fit on your head. Everyone's head is shaped different so all you can really do is give an overall impression of how it feels personally.

So we actually have history to rely on here. That’s the beauty of technology. I won’t always be stuck waiting for the next thing because I know that my previous statement regarding this particular part of the industry puts history on my side. And I know, that the last two first party headsets that Sony has put out don’t hold a candle to 99% of the well-known third-party manufacturers headsets out there today. Look at top 10 headset review videos over the last few years. You will be hard-pressed to find any first parties Sony headset in any of them. And there’s a reason for that. Everything that I mentioned in my first post. They don’t have the comfortability level, compatibility device wise, or sound quality of most of the other premium headsets coming from the bigger manufacturers who do nothing but pump out headsets for gaming... i’m not saying that these first party headsets are bad; I’m just saying that if you don’t want better go for these and if you do want better wait a few months.
I'm not sure about the Elite headset I have not used it for a very long time since the PS3 era. The 3D effect has nothing to do with vibration it was something that not many people really liked and was dropped as a feature after the Elite headsets.
That’s a good question. I’m not sure on how / why Sony allocated the release of accessories at different times in different regions. I also have a Dual sense controller that shipped yesterday.
Just out of curiosity did you have the platinum headset VSS / 3d switched on? If so and your saying the pulse is still better I now know which headset to buy / keep.
I'm not 100% sure of the exact range but they do seem to go a little further than my other headset. This all depends on the layout of anyone's house or apt though.

Let's just set this straight once and for all. ALL headphones can produce the 3D audio experience coming ONLY from the PS5! .. The Pulse 3D are supposed to be optimised for the experience though. You can't utilise 3D audio on a PS4.
True, which is why I made the point in the video that It will be good to hear this on games optimized on the PS5 unlike an older game like Destiny. I am simply comparing the sound quality as they compare on the PS4 pending further tests on the PS5
Yes I’m releasing one tomorrow that I just got a few days ago. I usually try and stagger my videos about one week but with this one and tomorrow’s it was more time sensitive to get it out as soon as I could
I don’t currently have COD on my hard drive I took it off recently and I’m sure they could be used for music as long as the source had a USB port for the dongle
The bass to me is very balanced, i had the 2018 gold wireless prior to these & these are much more balanced & way better audio quality. Although the 3d aspect doesnt “work” yet since im playing on ps4, the spacial awareness sounds much better & more fine tuned as well
@@tdwp909 Agreed, even though when trying this on Destiny the game is not optimized as what PS5 games will be for this tech but these headsets still allowed me to hear things that were not of the same effect as what I was getting with the Platinum's. The Pulse just seems to have a little more to it. Can't wait to try these out on actual next gen games.
Did you use the USB dongle when testing both headsets? Cause I have the platinum which also has 7.1 surround sound, which is technically 3d audio but that only works with the usb.
So are the ps4 platinums still decent for the ps5? I can't keep shelling out for accessories when the entry fee for the console and software is still so much money
I think they are more comfortable compared to the platinum's but keep in mind that is subjective due to everyones head being different and what someone considers comfortable.
bro its not the headphones, they just made a sale on you (sure they are decent headphones) with them, (google their frequency ranges compared to other high end headphones) its the 3d audio engine that works on any set of headphones
Dude im very pissed i went to walmart the website said they had some at the store and the workers were too lazy to out them up they told me they will put them out when the ps5 releases
Can you do a weird test for me and tell me how it works? Use the wireless dongle on PS4, then plug them with 3.5mm jack on PC/Phone and tell me if you can hear both sources at the same time or if one takes priority and mutes the other. Thanks!

@@Highlaw I understand what you wanted me to do now. No it will not do sound at the same time from two different sources. I had the dongle on the PS4 and the 3.5mm Jack into my laptop and as soon as the Jack was plugged into the headset the sound from the PS4 went to my TV and the 3.5mm Jack took over for the headset
Platium 3d surround is best with Uncharted 4 preset . please test ps4 platium 3d preset with ps5 pusle.its unjustice without preset to ps4 platium as they are pretty similar headset not much difference beside cosmatics .
I don't think it is a big difference between pulse 3d and arctics 7p. The extra 50$ is probably brand+a little more quality materials. I don't know the drivers dimensions for pulse 3d, but I guess they have 50mm drivers(can't find this info anywhere) instead of 40mm drivers on arctics 7p, which should give pulse 3d more db and richer bass and that is better for games in my opinion.
@@lucha_slam6462 So far pretty good. I've only tried them out on Spider Man, Destiny and FF7 remake, I'd give it a shot on Call of Duty but just recently deleted it off my system because I needed the space.

They both have great sound quality but as far as comfort pulse is a better option in my opinion. I think the pulse sounds slightly better but both are great headsets

I have the arctis 7P and the today I purchased the stealth 700 2nd gen and they are both ass compared to the platinums. I'll be returning both tomorrow as they do not compared to my platinums is great sound and sound whorring when playing WZ. I'm a huge WZ player and I need that. I thinking of trying this but the one guy stated that it doesn't sound as rich and that alone has already swayed me away. I've purchased and tried many headsets around the 150 range and none compare. Also tried the jbl line can't recall the name, it was 150 ish in price at launch, the gold's which I wasn't a fan of since I'm coming from platinums.
@@christophoris7259 I will say the sound quality is very close but I still give a slight nudge to the Pulse. The biggest factor between these two and what makes the upgrade worth it for me was how much more comfortable they are over the platinums. But how comfortable something is differs from person to person and is subjective.
I don’t currently have COD installed I had not played it for awhile and took it off my hard drive so I don’t have any first hand experience with it yet but If it sounds anything like Destiny does it should be impactful
@@Lethal_Venom Many people are reporting the mic quality is bad when used wirelessly. As if you have a sock in your mouth. 3.5mm sounds much better. I tested and confirmed this myself. The sound quality is amazing but the mic quality is atrocious. My teammates on Modern Warfare were complaining it was difficult to understand me. I'm disappointed honestly but maybe there are some defective units floating around or Sony can fix it with a firmware update.
imagine this on ps5 and for example miles morales spiderman! I mean if its optimised its even more good. But the bluetooth thing keeps me off buying it. I dont like bluetooth connections. Isnt there a way to connect it to ps5 via cable?
There is not a cable that connects from the headset to the PS5 but there is one that. Connects to the controller. This sounds great on the new Spider-Man!
Yes I know I have a lot of video on the channel where I did this but you have to edit it with share factory and that’s really limited compared to the editing software I use. Plus it’s quicker. To transfer the file from the PS4 to my PC to edit it would take longer than just recording this on my camera I usually use for video

Has anyone had the issue of the USB adapter blinking and the headset keeps crackling and disconnecting? I think a few people are having this issue. Im only like 7 feet from my tv on ps4 pro.
I'm right about the same distance if not a little further but I have not had this issue at all. Ive played some destiny and quite a lot of FF7 Remake since getting it and so far no glitches or bugs

If it doesn’t work in PS4 it’s not going to work for PS5. Sony wants you to buy newer headsets and that’s why old ones are not supported generations later. Just how business works

The platinum ones have to be the most uncomfortable and flimsy pieces of shit passed off as decent cans by any company ever. They're awful, I don't expect these to be much better, especially if they use that terrible headband like the plats.
The problem the platinum's suffered from was that the rubber strap was thin and was pressed up against the metal band at the top once adjusted. With the 3D pulse there is no metal strap and the rubber part is thicker and is not pressed up against anything. They are held by tension on the sides and the strap does not reach the upper support band at the top of the headset. How comfortable or uncomfortable the Platinum's are is subjective. Everyone's head is shaped different and some will find them comfortable and others will not. Just like with helmets, some manufactures helmets fit great and others do not. HJC always felt comfortable to me while Shoei helmets did not

After wearing platinum cans they make your head hot and the strap hurts a lot. After only 30 minutes. These can't be as bad surely?

I have the ps4 gold headset they're very good in terms of audio and mic to this day but the case broken many times that's why am hesitating about buying the new ps5 headset or buying the platinum for longer durability, any advice?!
@@youngtas3831 I have thousands of hrs on my platinum's and they are not broken. I do not forsee any issues with Pulse 3D. It all comes down to taking care of your stuff. If you are not hard on it and take care of them they wont break.

Been playing today for hours (in order to combat my election anxiety) and I can tell that for sure Pulse headset is way more comfortable, although the ear pieces are more squeaky than Platinum. I am getting used to the sound but I keep thinking that Platinum has a richer sound body
@@youngtas3831 i would go with Pulse since it is cheaper. Pulse cannot fold like Platinum does, which might make it a bit more durable? If you take care of them nothing will happen. My Platinum started to break on the ear foamy part, but it has been 4 years and still it looks great.

The pulse seem to be quite a bit more comfortable between the two. Sound quality is pretty close IMO but comfort level definitely goes to the pulse
weird question, do you have any ps2 games that you've downloaded for the ps store that work on your ps4? I wanna know if games like siren utilize the 3D audio
That I have not done, its a good question though. I do not think the older games would support 3D audio but I'm not 100% sure on how it all works either with 3D audio with older games.

That does not shock me at all. Even with all things being equal sound wise between the Platinum and Pulse ( even though I give the nod to the Pulse set especially when it comes PS5 games of which they were made for ) The comfortability factor is worth the upgrade on its own. I played a lot of FF7 remake after this video using these and never once did they get uncomfortable for me

The 3D does not work yet on these.
The 3D sound will only be triggered when the TEMPEST engine kicks in.
What you are hearing is only the difference between noice cancelled headphones on the new Pulse 3D in comparison to the platinum 3D headset that doesn't have the same isolation.
This will result in better bottom and stereo field on the Pulse 3D.
The pulse are 100 bucks and the Platinums are 160 bucks, they both do the same but one is premium and the new is a mid range product.
Sony promised this will work with their high end headphones like the Platinum, so sit tight Platinum users.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe the 3D pulse headphones themselves are capable of producing 3D sound alone which is why you can have 3D sound on the ps4 while the platinum cannot produce 3D, while the ps5 comes with the hardware necessary inside to allow it to all other headphones. So in theory the 3D sound might be a little more immersive on the pulse 3D when paired with the ps5 compared to normal headphones when paired to the ps5.
Agree. I believe there is more and better tech built into the Pulse which is making it sound a little better than the Plat's from my perspective but the real test will be when the PS5 is out and playing on those games. Even though the Plat's will be able to do 3D at that point I still don't think it will be as good of a headset as the Pulse. If that was the case then why even make the pulse in the first place , sony could have just kept the plat's and updated them with the PS5.
This is incorrect. Platinum does 3D audio already in Ghost of Tsushima, Uncharted 4 and Horizon. And since PS5 processes the 3D audio in the hardware itself, you should be able to use any headset, also the Platinum. Platinum was almost twice as expensive, so I don't believe there better tech in it. In fact: my Platinum sounds better on PS4 than the Pulse.
@@Sausbert Anytime something releases years after a similar product it will have better or improved tech built in. PS4 and PS5 digital are the same price yet are years apart in tech and advancements so you can’t make that argument based on price

I don't have access to a PS5 yet, but I think my Platinum sounds way better (more bass, more volume and basically a much "fuller sound") that the Pulse 3D when using it on PS4.

Thanks for watching! The pulse headset is a lot more comfortable than the plat's in my opinion. The sound quality is very close but I play long periods of Destiny and I've never had comfort issues with the pulse headset.

Think you might have made a minor mistake.You tested games that did not support 3d audio but aslo had the 3d mode switched on the platinum headset which would make the game sound different.
This was a test of how they sound in general. I clearly said I can’t wait for the PS5 to release ( when this was filmed ) to see how they sound with games made for 3D Audio and not an older game like destiny.

The sound on both is subjective I think they are both really close but in my opinion the pulse sounds a little better. The big difference for me was how much more comfortable they are over the platinums

I only have experience with the Sony head sets but I did try out a friends Astro A50’s and those where nice too. I would not say any is drastically better over the other. I can say the Pulse 3D is quite comfortable. Astros were good too

To be honest, I always avoid buying the first edition of any new type of headset for a new generation like this. Just a few months from now your big boy headset manufacturers like Astro, steel series, and Sennheiser, will all have headsets that are more comfortable, have better sound quality, and more functionality and compatibility with more devices than this headset. The same thing happened with the PlayStation Gold headset when it first came out. Everyone jumped on the hype train and a few months later it got blown out of the water by every other manufacture on the block.
then, you can always wait forever and not capable of buying anything, because what you buy next time will be worse than next next time, and so on.

For me I did not need it for other devices, only my PS5. I've always been an early adopter of tech when it comes to gaming either being getting systems at launch or accessories like this headset and I've never had any issues with bugs or problems. The issue of how comfortable they are differs from person to person, some will find this headset to be excellent and some may not just as with all the other headsets you mentioned. I rode sportbikes for a lot of years and each helmet manufacturer was different as far as how their helmet fit on your head. Everyone's head is shaped different so all you can really do is give an overall impression of how it feels personally.

So we actually have history to rely on here. That’s the beauty of technology. I won’t always be stuck waiting for the next thing because I know that my previous statement regarding this particular part of the industry puts history on my side. And I know, that the last two first party headsets that Sony has put out don’t hold a candle to 99% of the well-known third-party manufacturers headsets out there today. Look at top 10 headset review videos over the last few years. You will be hard-pressed to find any first parties Sony headset in any of them. And there’s a reason for that. Everything that I mentioned in my first post. They don’t have the comfortability level, compatibility device wise, or sound quality of most of the other premium headsets coming from the bigger manufacturers who do nothing but pump out headsets for gaming... i’m not saying that these first party headsets are bad; I’m just saying that if you don’t want better go for these and if you do want better wait a few months.
The ELITE HEADPHONE doesn't vibrate at all right? The 3d effect is just the same right?
I'm not sure about the Elite headset I have not used it for a very long time since the PS3 era. The 3D effect has nothing to do with vibration it was something that not many people really liked and was dropped as a feature after the Elite headsets.

That’s a good question. I’m not sure on how / why Sony allocated the release of accessories at different times in different regions. I also have a Dual sense controller that shipped yesterday.

There is no 3D button on the Platinum's. There is the on/off, Master Volume, Mute, Presets, and Chat and Sound volume. No button for 3D like you said

I'm not 100% sure of the exact range but they do seem to go a little further than my other headset. This all depends on the layout of anyone's house or apt though.

Let's just set this straight once and for all. ALL headphones can produce the 3D audio experience coming ONLY from the PS5! .. The Pulse 3D are supposed to be optimised for the experience though. You can't utilise 3D audio on a PS4.
True, which is why I made the point in the video that It will be good to hear this on games optimized on the PS5 unlike an older game like Destiny. I am simply comparing the sound quality as they compare on the PS4 pending further tests on the PS5

I don’t currently have COD on my hard drive I took it off recently and I’m sure they could be used for music as long as the source had a USB port for the dongle
The bass to me is very balanced, i had the 2018 gold wireless prior to these & these are much more balanced & way better audio quality. Although the 3d aspect doesnt “work” yet since im playing on ps4, the spacial awareness sounds much better & more fine tuned as well
@@tdwp909 Agreed, even though when trying this on Destiny the game is not optimized as what PS5 games will be for this tech but these headsets still allowed me to hear things that were not of the same effect as what I was getting with the Platinum's. The Pulse just seems to have a little more to it. Can't wait to try these out on actual next gen games.
Did you use the USB dongle when testing both headsets? Cause I have the platinum which also has 7.1 surround sound, which is technically 3d audio but that only works with the usb.
The dongle plugs into the USB. I used their own specific dongles when trying this

Stock profile. There is not an update for this on the PS4 yet for this headset in the headset app. I’m sure it will be a part of the PS5 day 1 patch

I had the dongle on the PS4 and the 3.5mm Jack into my laptop and as soon as the Jack was plugged into the headset the sound from the PS4 went to my TV and the 3.5mm Jack took over for the headset

Platium 3d surround is best with Uncharted 4 preset . please test ps4 platium 3d preset with ps5 pusle.its unjustice without preset to ps4 platium as they are pretty similar headset not much difference beside cosmatics .
Its a tough choice for me between these and the SteelSeries Arctis 7p which are also 3D audio ready but run at $150.

I don't think it is a big difference between pulse 3d and arctics 7p. The extra 50$ is probably brand+a little more quality materials. I don't know the drivers dimensions for pulse 3d, but I guess they have 50mm drivers(can't find this info anywhere) instead of 40mm drivers on arctics 7p, which should give pulse 3d more db and richer bass and that is better for games in my opinion.

I have the arctis 7P and the today I purchased the stealth 700 2nd gen and they are both ass compared to the platinums. I'll be returning both tomorrow as they do not compared to my platinums is great sound and sound whorring when playing WZ. I'm a huge WZ player and I need that. I thinking of trying this but the one guy stated that it doesn't sound as rich and that alone has already swayed me away. I've purchased and tried many headsets around the 150 range and none compare. Also tried the jbl line can't recall the name, it was 150 ish in price at launch, the gold's which I wasn't a fan of since I'm coming from platinums.

The biggest factor between these two and what makes the upgrade worth it for me was how much more comfortable they are over the platinums. But how comfortable something is differs from person to person and is subjective.

I don’t currently have COD installed I had not played it for awhile and took it off my hard drive so I don’t have any first hand experience with it yet but If it sounds anything like Destiny does it should be impactful
No mic test? In my experience the Mic is garbage when used wireleslly on PS4. It's a shame because the audio does sound good.
If it sounds anything like the Platinum's its going to sound very good. It was the least of my concerns with testing it
@@Lethal_Venom Many people are reporting the mic quality is bad when used wirelessly. As if you have a sock in your mouth. 3.5mm sounds much better. I tested and confirmed this myself. The sound quality is amazing but the mic quality is atrocious. My teammates on Modern Warfare were complaining it was difficult to understand me. I'm disappointed honestly but maybe there are some defective units floating around or Sony can fix it with a firmware update.

There is not a cable that connects from the headset to the PS5 but there is one that. Connects to the controller. This sounds great on the new Spider-Man!

Yes I know I have a lot of video on the channel where I did this but you have to edit it with share factory and that’s really limited compared to the editing software I use. Plus it’s quicker. To transfer the file from the PS4 to my PC to edit it would take longer than just recording this on my camera I usually use for video

I'm right about the same distance if not a little further but I have not had this issue at all. Ive played some destiny and quite a lot of FF7 Remake since getting it and so far no glitches or bugs

The platinum ones have to be the most uncomfortable and flimsy pieces of shit passed off as decent cans by any company ever. They're awful, I don't expect these to be much better, especially if they use that terrible headband like the plats.
The problem the platinum's suffered from was that the rubber strap was thin and was pressed up against the metal band at the top once adjusted. With the 3D pulse there is no metal strap and the rubber part is thicker and is not pressed up against anything. They are held by tension on the sides and the strap does not reach the upper support band at the top of the headset. How comfortable or uncomfortable the Platinum's are is subjective. Everyone's head is shaped different and some will find them comfortable and others will not. Just like with helmets, some manufactures helmets fit great and others do not. HJC always felt comfortable to me while Shoei helmets did not
