Sri Lanka's track record suggests that it might not emerge as a consistently dependable partner for India. Throughout history, there have been numerous instances of betrayal and opportunism. While it's heartening to witness the diplomatic efforts between the two countries, it's best to view this relationship as a potential avenue for business rather than placing unwavering trust. Jai Hind!
Yes specially when Indian trained and armed terrorists that destroyed once prosperous Ceylon! India has no friendly neighbours maybe it’s time south Asian unites against this nonsense of Indian intervention in their domestic affairs! It’s pretty clear India that lacks basic sanitation is looking at competing a powerful country like China!
It is India's own fault. Inida helped the terrorists by and training the terrorists who used suicide bombers, child soldiers etc. When the army was in the verge of ending the war many years back, India sent their air force with aid/threats which forced Sri Lanka to retreat. This resulted in a 30 year war. Irony is that even terrorists didn't want to be manipulated by India and sent a suicide bomber which resulted in Rajiv Gahdhi's death.

@@alexk798 Because Sri Lanka needs it and desperate. Doesn't mean anything mentioned above is wrong. India is helping Sri Lanka to minimize Chinese influence in their naighbouring countries. I am not saying Chinese influence is good though.
