Fish Guy Chris shelling the big bucks lately. Pool work, boat work, wedding planning. I'm happy to see the Fish Guys succeed. If they ever want to do some Cajun style crabbing, all they have to do is head to Louisiana and send a message.

My grandfather taught me to crab and I am quite good at it. What you need is chicken necks and/or backs. Tie that to a string with a 3 or 4 oz pyramid sinker on it. Tie the string to your dock. Toss it in the water with a little slack. Rinse and repeat. Every so often check the lines - we would fish during that time and check every 10-15 mins. Grab the slack and you will feel them yanking on it - SLOWLY pull the string up, you'll spook them if you pull it up too fast and use a net -come from behind and scoop 'em up. Easy-peasy. We could get a couple dozen crabs this way fairly easily in a couple hours of work in NE FL.
This is a technique that he picked up when he grew up in the 1920s in New Jersey and people still use it there.

You should do a tournament with like 8 baits and do eliminate the four with the worst catches then throw the 4 with the best back in, then keep the two best, then pick the best one out of the two to bee champion. Love your vids!❤

When I was younger, my dad used to take me crabbing. We went to a spot under a bridge with chicken( that was left out and stinky) we attached it to a clothespin, on a fishing line and throw it out in the water. We'd only wait like a few minutes for the crabs to get good an busy and gently pull them in and shake them off into the bucket. You'd have 3 or 4 crabs on one piece of chicken each time we pulled it in. It was like shooting fish in a barrel sometimes.
Make your pool a pond. Fresh or salt water don’t matter both would be cool.
Fish is good chicken is good but if you want to catch blue crabs Melt is what you need you will get over the limit 😮
I’d love that pool as a pond it would be perfect for pots and pans or a grow out pond for the smaller predator fish you got or a massive stock pond for raising bait fish

6:36 it's actually better if the chicken is warm and stinky, bones included! just grab a full chicken leave it out a couple of days and then stuff it into your Crab trap, drop that thing into the water and just watch them go to town the stinkier it is the better! it will work, I have done this... I used to live in Oregon around Garibaldi Bay and the blue crabs are amazing! all you have to do is drop it at the pier because everybody droppes their babies, the ones that they can't bring home they throw them off at the pier, when they go through their crabs, right there... and due to all their junk food being tossed the crabs eat like kings

I’m a total city girl but whenever I went crabbing (every summer) we used chicken! My pops always said that’s what they used. And we aowayssss caught crab!!!! Anddd sometimes he’d throw bacon in. Never disappointed! We ate very very good for a family of 9!
Chicken livers vs hot dog but before you put the bate in the traps. You have to let the bate sit in the sun for 4 hours. Then put your bate in the traps and put them out for at least 48 hours.

Have you ever tried stink bait? My dad uses it almost everytime he goes fishing. Idk if it would work for crabs but it might🤷 idk tho. Just a thought

Spray your bait with WD-40 it’s oil based and will carry the scent much further
