The story with the blindfold terrified me. There was a famous murder case in Canada a guy called Mark pretended to be a woman on POF and arranged to meet a man for the sole purpose of murder. So the fact that this guy agreed to put on a blindfold with someone he’d never seen in the flesh is so scary.
That's exactly what I thought about, too! I know I wouldn't have been that trusting! That's terrifying!

Remy's coldness floored me. Why would you mess with someone's life, then be so callous about it? It's crazy that he could look at this young woman (and new mom) hurting, feel nothing, and essentially blame her for not figuring him out. Sometimes the people on this show are just bafflingly cold.

Unfortunately 1 of my friends was catfished… 2 girls he knew catfished him when facebook was around for about a year. They were being all loving at 1st. When the plan to meet happened for a date. Nobody showed. I remember how he told me the person canceled. 2 days later it turned from loving to harassing. Then bullying. Then threatening. I remember some of the messages he got. It all ended when he was playing basketball by himself in a park and the 2 girls were standing there. On the court. He eventually saw them. They started reading the messages to him. They had print outs of the conversation. He did know the girls but no really much about them at all. He asked who they were and how do they know about it. They came clean and said it was them. They decided to make fun of him and that he’d never get any girl like them. Just being rude. A random stranger defends my friend and tells the girls to grow up. What they did is harassment and they wouldn’t like it if a person did it to them. They tried to talk but the woman wouldn’t allow it.
Basically the 2 girls made a fake profile to mess with a guy who they thought is absolutely ugly and would never get a girl as hot as them….
People who make profiles to catfish and cause problems, they don’t understand and care about the damage caused.

My husband still sends me stupid cute things about having crushes on me or will send me stuff from a 'not so secretive admirer'. We've been married 7 years (this February) and each time he does something like that I just fall even more in love with the dork. Yes, I call him a dork-a-saurus and in return I'm his geek-a-saurus.

@@jess.1523Yes, he really didnt care how people saw him...its a game to most of them..they just dont like getting caught...the only downside it has is some element of public humiliation...but that doesnt last long enough to stop them for long. I saw recently that Australia is changing the laws on catfishing, and you can be prosecuted for giving some of the false information these people give. Thay are all as bad as each other as far as i can see. They simply dont care, and no one makes them care...all the 'punishment' they get is their 15 minutes of fame! Not much deterrent..

100 percent unfortunately, I hope she seeks out some therapy that might help her break through these barriers. I'm recently married & I had been talking to her on/off for the past 5 years. She eventually told was seeking a therapist who included hypnosis in the sessions, she made so much progression I'm so proud of her. I feel that Nicole can do the same she just needs to be patient & positive, she find the right person & it'll happen when she's least expecting it.

it's so annoying to me when the catfish, who lie and hurt, act like victims. it's hard to be sympathetic when they're knowingly deceiving and playing with people's feelings. that Nicole girl is someone whose mental issues are more of a turn off than her appearance. she could easily find lots of people who would find her physically attractive. but her internal burden is not someone else's responsibility.

Usually mental health issues. Most of the people who appear on this show suffer from one to many mental and/or emotional issues. This is part of the reason Nev is such a great host, he handles everyone with the compassion and understanding they need while looking for the truth

Some of this is more sad than it is creepy. It seems like a lot of the time, these girls just want to receive the validation, attention and compliments that 'pretty girls' do, and I kind of can't blame them for that. Society doesn't treat darker-skinned black women the same way they treat light-skinned women, or fat women vs. thin.
