Game Genie codes can be loaded from text files too. Here's how: 1. Find cheats for your game in GameGenie format. 2. Open Notepad 3. Paste the cheats you want to use into notepad halves of code should be separated by “-” for example ZEXP-YGLA or SXI-OPA code separation doesn’t matter, but I have one code for each line in my files. 4. Save file as 8-bit ansi text format. And use the name of the game, and name of cheats for filename. 5. You should only add the cheats you want to use, since you can’t select cheats. ALL cheats in the file you load will be activated. 6. When EDN8 is in NES, and NES is powered on, find the game you want, select “Select Only” 7. Select your cheats file and load it. 8. Press “START” on your controller to launch game with cheats
Yes, I have lots of hacks. The people who designed the Everdrive are constantly improving the the board and the operating system also. I always recommend the Everdrive to people.
Joe Spen yes for example Castlevania 3 Dracula's curse his 385. And it works fine. I tried it rom hack once that was 513 and it did not work because I think the limitation has 512 so as long as it is below that it will work on an everdrive
It has been awhile but that may be how to do it. As long as you can get it to work then you are good. It wouldn't hurt to update your firmware only if you run into any mapper problems with games.
Thanks for the video. This works well for me right up until the point where I tried to enter the codes. As soon as I press the B button it takes me back to the previous screen. It never actually allows me to enter the codes into the blanks on the Game Genie code page. Has anyone else had this problem? Any idea how to fix this? Thanks!
Thanks for this. I was able to live my boyhood dream of starting off with the Hammer Bros suit in Super Mario 3. Unfortunately it wasn't as overpowered as I thought.... more like Challenge Mode. In fact it reminded me of a certain classic AVGN video...

Hey what can I do to get my game genie to work? Every time I put it in my console it just has the blinking light

DonkeyKongGenius I really like the power pak. The everdrive wasn't out in 2012. I was asking for a friend. Have you played any roms bigger than 100kb.

For me when I press and hold B here, it exits this. Do need to update my firmware maybe? It does say on mine to "Press B+Dpad to change"

You have to hold it down while selecting the letters, or else the dpad will just move through the empty spaces.
