Let me know what you think of his very special hand built boat
This is the perfect bachelor boat. I fell in love. It's very elegant but simple.
Hey Jon I’m so glad you loved it, it wasn’t easy to find one to video 1 of 3 in existence- but I think it well worth it 😊 - Scott
I love those helm seats - they remind me of old-time school bench seats. And I’m so old, I sat in seats like that in grade school.
Hey Tom I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. Yes the helm seats are simple but very cool and they do evoke a lot of nostalgic feelings. I think it’s quite a romantic design in terms of adventure and going to sea to explore which captures many of our imaginations. Say hi again soon Tom - 😊 Scott
Stopped by and met Tim and Sally that day also.. beautiful boat, beautifully built.
@@BenGage-e1e G’day Ben, yep both top notch people, very warm, genuine people a real pleasure to meet them both 😊👍 - Scott
You presented this boat beautifully. What a classic.
Hey buddy….thank you. I tried to say less and let the boat speak for itself. Do you prefer the background music on or off?
@@weloveboating On, adds to the charm of your presentation.
What a boat!!! Elegance for everywhere.
Hi Fer, I have to agree with you - such a stylish boat 👍❤️ glad you enjoyed it too 😊 - Scott
What a great boat.I am familiar with Deal Island Maryland. I would love to roam the Chesapeake Bay with a boat like that.
Hi Timothy it’s great to hear from you, I think it’s the first time I’ve heard from you…welcome aboard. I’m glad you enjoyed this one. Exploring a coastline on this would be heaps of fun wouldn’t it 😊👍 - Scott
Thank You, Scott. Warms my heart to see a newly built boat full of extraordinary high-end classic materials and appearance. This yard sure knows how to hide the modern high-tech very pleasantly. Wish them all the success in the future, and keep up Your fantastic channel, Scott.
@@LarsLindroth Hi there Lara, that compliment is very well received- thank you.
I decided a year ago I needed a hobby, do more than go to work and look after my family so I editor do this just for me.
I’m very glad we can build a little community and share the enjoyment.
This builder also makes a few other models and I have another video to edit soon.
All the best Lara…are you in Europe?
Scott
@@weloveboating You're very welcome, Scott. I've lived almost 40 years in Southern California and have been boating in our lakes, rivers and the Pacific Ocean. I grew up in the Archipelago of Stockholm, Sweden and got hooked on boating from as far back as I can remember. Look forward to the video of the other Deal Island model. 👍
@@LarsLindroth I’ve been to Stockholm actually a part of the world I’d like you to explore.
All the best Lars …hope you’re getting good weather in California ☀️😊 - Scott
That's a work of art. The woodwork is as good as any I've seen. Love the boats that aren't cookie cutter design. Great video. 🇦🇺 😊
G’day Rex, yeah that one is pretty special so good to see a modern wooden boat built in Australia too 🇦🇺
😊👍 Scott
Beautiful boat! As to contradict another comment, the chimney suits her perfectly. Little wood stoves like that are pretty common here in BC.
Hi Ken !
There must be some fantastic waterways around British Columbia I’d love to visit tyre one day, glad you enjoyed that one 😊👍 - Scott
I could see a lot of the Couta design in it and a lot of there fittings there used on Couta boats.
Very well done.
Hey Captain Mark !
Yes you know you stuff, it’s a great design I reckon.
Look out for another one of their boats I videod soon, their Kooyong 28….another lovely boat
😊👍 - Scott
Well, it's a nice boat, it's a pity though that the music was so loud I could barely hear the commentary...
Hi there thanks for watching, I’m sorry that you didn’t fully enjoy it. Hope to hear from you again soon though 😊👍 - Scott
We were recently sent your video by one of our lovely customers who organised our Lobster and Trumpeter cushions to go onboard - when she said they were going on a boat I had no idea they would be at home on such a breathtaking one! The definition of a dream vessel with beautiful craftsmanship, timber, details and other elements (the fire and sink are superb!). Thoroughly enjoyed your walk through, and look forward to watching more of your videos in the future.
Hi Bobby I remember the cushions they were on the lower deck near the combustion fire place !
They looked perfect in the boat no wonder the owner were so proud.
Thanks for watching my channel.
😊👍 - Scott
She's a stunner ❤
Hey Scimi I’m so glad you liked this one, I walked around for ages trying to find it and almost gave up, I’m glad I didn’t it turned out really well 😊👍 - Scott
This is a really nice boat. Lots of very thoughtful details not immediately noticed as you walk through. Lots of subtle storage openings you won’t really notice unless you are looking for them. A classic design just done right. The cockpit side doors are a nice touch. I personally think the shade of white on the interior is just a touch too stark and bright. A little too cold. My choice would be to tone it down a touch with a bit more eqqshell or cream tint to it. Just a touch. And tone down the tarnish on the brass and add a little, just a little more sheen and smooth rubbed texture to it. Make it look just a bit more hand rubbed and lovingly worn.
The photo of the boat underway is just poetry in motion. Just looks so right. And she has a nice cruising speed with a really good turn of dash speed so you can really cover distance in a good hurry if you need or want to.
I bet this boat is quite expensive. And she looks the part. There is an elegance to her often missing in new boat builds. Going to be a very good looking boat for many years to come.
Hey there thanks so much for watching and enjoying the video and leaving such a thoughtful comment. I can tell you that in terms of price the Boat in the video was the third one they’ve built and it was approximately AU$2 million which by my reckoning on current exchange rates is about $1.3m US
So it’s definitely not a cheap runabout, but it’s something pretty special and only an individual can determine if that’s good value or not but I’m really glad you liked the video . 😊 - Scott
Amazing boat!
I’m so glad you enjoyed that Deal Island (0, I have another of their boats to publish soon too 😊👍 - Scott
What a dream that would be. I could only imagine my wife and children on such an amazing boat.
@@bowmanlegacies Hi there, Ibthink a lot of people who’ve watched this one have had the same thought. Which part of the world are you in?
😊👍 - Scott
@@weloveboating America in the Midwest.
Now that is a lovely cruiser. The Admiral and I could could cruise the waterways here is SE Asia in style with this boat.
Hey Ron!
Mate that sounds like a grand plan….where are you in SE Asia?
😊👍 - Scott
@@weloveboating Vietnam, plenty of places to visit by boat such as Ha Long Bay, the rivers of Danang and of course the Mekong Delta. Then just around the corner is Cambodia and Thailand. Enough places to keep us exploring for years.
@@Ron-zr6se mate you’re spoilt for choice! Have you watched the walkthrough I did of the Selene 49? I reckon you’d like that one…proper pocket explorer yacht
@@weloveboating Just got the chance to see it. Actually I have viewed a Selene 66 but in the end I did not pursue the purchase. They are nice yachts though I would go with Nordhavn. The Palm Beach 52 is quite the head turner as all the activity can attest to. Should the right classic show up, I'll pursue it.
Beautiful, Reminds me of a Hinckley Yacht 👍
Hey there, Ud love to video a Hinkley one day they remind me of Palm Beach boats…both gorgeous 😊👍 thanks for watching
Scott
Gaaaawd this yacht is beautiful.
Hey Mark !
I’m really glad you liked this one, it was a bit of a hassle to organise but well worth it.
What do you think of the combustion fireplace and chimney?
😊👍 - Scott
@@weloveboating I think the entire package is the Cats Ass baby!
@@marktibbetts3799 I have to agree with you 👍
I like the wood stove. There's enough space to add some big lounge chairs too. The exposed anchor locker is something I've never seen before, I wonder how it is when you're sleeping and there is some movement? Maybe the chains don't make much noise.
Hi there !
That’s such a good question … you’d have to think they thought that through I suppose.
I also did a video of their Kooyong 28 which is a shallow draft day fishing style boat…I’ll pop that up soon 👍😊 - Scott
Perfect lines.
Hey thanks for watching this one I’m glad you enjoyed it 😊👍 - Scott
I could see that boat in the Bahamas.. Really nice...
Hi Ray great to hear from you again. How much use would that fireplace get in the Bahamas 😂 Yeah sitting on that big open aft cockpit in the afternoon would be fun 👍 - Scott
Thanks for showing this boat it is beautiful
@@johnkohler563 hey John it’s my pleasure, thanks for watching and dropping in to say hi, hope it’s the first of many times 😊👍 - Scott
Wow! absolutely gorgeous!
Hi Kevin, great to hear from you. I’m very happy you enjoy enjoyed that video…. I have to agree seeing the Boat in person having walk-through so many fibreglass constructed Boats the difference in the way it felt to be in the boat was quite noticeable.
Hope to hear from you again I’m doing another video of another model. They have a 28 foot day Boat which was very nice to see you soon. 😊👍 - Scott
First time I've actually seen an interior of one of their boats
@@COLINJELY Hey there Colin!
I’m glad you enjoyed this one, was the interior what you expected? 😊👍 - Scott
a boat with plenty of space to move around nice big back deck perfect love it well done
Hey great to hear from you…. I didn’t mention it in the video but part of the design came from fishing boats that were prominent in that area of Victoria Australia and that the wooden boat shop had previously made and that big open after cockpit is true to that heritage which I think makes it very appealing.. Glad you enjoyed it 👍😊 - Scott
Stunning mate! Thanks for sharing
Hey Chris you’re welcome mate, I’ll post another of their boats in September, a smaller 28 foot day boat, also very cool very charming boat, glad you liked this one 😊👍 - Scott
Fabulous effort, fabulous build.
Hey Simon great to hear from you again. I’m glad you enjoyed that one it’s definitely a special kind of bost….hipe you have a good weekend coming up 😊👍 - Scott

A stunning boat, a work of art, but no music next time please just the lapping of the water is all you need👍
Hi there Paul,
I’m glad you enjoyed watching that one. It was a lot of fun to make. .
The music is not something I normally do. I don’t know why perhaps it was the serenity of the Boat itself and the location and the time of day but I thought it all made sense but in retrospect I could’ve left it out and it might’ve been just as good . Thanks for watching.
😊👍 - Scott
great character that the gentlemans cruisers have , an unmatched charm and look about their lines and shape , nice layout with an open feel, not cramped as many are , beautifully done , price range ??
Hi Troy, the one I videoed was $2,000,000 AUD
I couldn’t find any accurate range info but you’d have to say probably around 250-300Nm at about 20knots
Thanks for watching Troy I’m glad you liked that one
😊👍 - Scott
Hi Scotty. LOVE this boat! ......just needs the Michell Gyrodec mounted on a gyro......(listen to vinyl next to the fire....) :) Georgeousity!! Ten thumbs up. S
Hey Scott thanks for watching, yeah that fireplace is something else is t it 😊👍
Pretty vessel! One thing, SLOW DOWN whe you pan around the boat, turning back and forth and all around like that is very discomforting!
Hey Tim !
Great to hear from you, I’m glad you enjoyed that one.
Thanks for bothering to give me some constructive feedback, I’m definitely in the learning curve doing this and focusing on making improvements each week.
I’ll definitely take that on board (excuse the pun) and be more mindful on future videos. All the best Tim 😊👍 - Scott
Beautiful boat .. but, a close mate of mine in 🇦🇺 has an 80 foot (eighty) wooden boat, has had it for 30 plus years .. its stunning, …. but an absolutely nightmare to maintain .. its never ending !
Hey VH great to hear from you…. Great to have friends with nice boats 😊 I didn’t have the space in the video to detail how they protect the timber, they have a very clever product they use which essentially creates a glassy sheath, Tim who owns WBS reckons the maintenance is comparable to a fibreglass boat….in any case I’m glad you enjoyed the video I hope you leave more thoughts in the future 😊👍 - Scott
Beautiful timber work and great to see it is made in Victoria. The open void in front of the port side forward facing interior seats, is that dangerous for those who are deficient in “sea legs”? I don’t think I have ever seen an internal wood combustion burner on a wooden boat before, very intriguing. Overall it is very nice. 🇦🇺👍🍺
Hey there Aloysius thanks for saying hi, I’m glad you enjoyed this one.
Yes I’m pretty confident the combustion fire would be safe but it’s very unique to see one in a wooden boat… or any boat for that matter.
Great hearing from you 😊👍 - Scott
Would there be more up keep to this boat in comparison to a fibreglass or aluminium boat?
Hi there Frank, great to hear from you.
They actually use a series of very clever compounds to create a sheath around the wood so that the up keep is same as other boats, there’s some good info about it online The Wooden Boat Shop
Great to hear from you mate
😊👍 - Scott
WBS build fantastic boats - beautiful and very capable. Not floating luxury apartments, really useable boats for the real world.
@@tonmanify Hey Tony great to hear from you! There’s also a video of a walker did of their Kooyong 28 day boat 😊👍 - Scott
It kinda reminds me of a 1970 Bertram 38 Salon Crusier.
Hi there…thanks for watching…I’ll look up a 1970 Bertrem I reckon you might be right 😊👍 - Scott
@@weloveboating As far as Long and Sleak. No high top end.
Better than a Palm Beach.

I'm currently building a 30 ft boat similar to this.
Hey Adam great to hear from you. Congratulations on your boat that must be very exciting…where will you be using it? - Scott
@weloveboating I live in Florida, so I'll be using it around Florida all around. I just retired, so I'll be all over maybe Bahamas, Dry Tortugas, etc.
@@adamtedder1012 Adam I’m completely envious you’re living the dream my man.
I’m 56 hoping to retire inside of 10 years in Sydney… I’d love to get over to your part of the world it looks great
@weloveboating I do love it. I was telling a woman who wanted me to travel with her that I already did all that, already traveled the world, and I'm quite content and happy now in my part of the world. That's not to say I won't ever travel again but not for long stretches I'd miss my water, my islands, my fishing and cooking. I'm going out on Monday on my 16-foot skiff to fish and go have a fire, cook, hang out, and jam to some good music. I love where I live, I love the opportunity it brings me. To each their own. Some people want mountains, or canyons, I need the sea.
It’s the cream
Hi Daryl, it’s great hearing your thoughts on this one, I’m glad you enjoyed it too

Надо беречь природу,
Hi yes I totally agree 👍
Love it but my fear of fire would preclude the combustion stove.
Hey is this the first time you’ve left a comment? Thanks for watching this one. The first 2 they built without fireplaces apparently so you’d be safe - Scott 😊👍
fiberglass hull?
Hi Terry good to hear from you. No the hulls are definitely timber but they use a particular set of compounds to create a sheath that protects the wood and reduces the required maintenance and gives that smooth glassy look, the explanation was a little too long-winded to fit in the video but the products are all on the wooden boat shop website so yeah very interesting stuff. Very clever.😊👍 - Scott
Beautiful boat appalling audio.

The chimney ruins it.
Hey there ! Yeah it’s a bit different isn’t it….if there was a way to keep the fireplace and lose the chimney perfect….thanks for watching 😊👍 - Scott
