I've used the west Hunter pic mounts on my katran for last couple month, and never had a issue no matter how many times I removed scope, as for UTG I have there 360 bipod and it's a solid piece of kit for £80, certainly much better then cheapo Amazon ones without breaking bank with a high end one

It's quite mad how quickly the quality has improved on alot of the affordable ranges of hardware eh. As it stands I've absolutely no problem running these parts on the 9015.

@@tillysgunstocks to be fair I have couple west Hunter scopes too that I think for money are pretty solid, only issue I have with them is they don't really make any SFP, it's all FFP, thankfully vector make a nice affordable SFP, I forgot to mention the west Hunter dovetail mounts seem decent on my huntsman too, but there only like £8 less then sportsmatch so it's like so so really

Leapers stuff is actually pretty good but as with all Chinese bolts/screws I automatically change them for higher quality stainless steel hardware. Chinesium hardware is pretty dire and usually the weak link.

Would happily pay an extra £10 for a dovetail to picatinny with 20-30MOA built in which is very helpful for .22. adjustable mounts on top will get a bit too much.
That UTG is also one of the few that fit a curved top like Springer cylinder rather than just flat top PCP dovetail block.

There's quite a few moa rails out there now for not much money. This one I went with a flat rail as I wasn't initially sure which way around I would run it to overhang the rear of the action.
I'm pleasantly surprised with the build quality and repeatability of the mounting so far though

@@tillysgunstocks Not many that will fit a curved top action, or maybe I need to look again found either flattop dovetail or specific centerfire and the little clip in adapters don't fit curves either. Tried a Chinese one before and it was crap sat nowhere near vertical no matter what way it clamped.
Would like to swap scopes with ease particularly NV on and off, pard 007 works but feels clumsy.

Perfectly timed content, I have had to remove and replace my vector mounts on my Krait, and found it held zero well each time, however I didn't believe my own findings 🤪,
Your video has set my mind to rest.
    Thanks.

Most definitely ,however when I bought the leapers ( utg) 3×14x44 it compact swat scopes it was around 2011 I got the first ( I bought it specifically for my brand new to market verminator mk2 )
With what was then called the Ben Taylor smooth twist barrel , within weeks of reading a then up to date article about Mr Taylor and Freddie axelson ( owner of FX) it explained how Ben had been working with Freddie at the FX factory over the last 18 months , it showed how Ben Taylor had made a super high end PCP that was a two shot tray and featured the smooth twist ( I think he got milbro to finance it because the rifle was called the milbro ___( I can't remember the name)
Then 2 weeks later I read an update talking about how Ben had actually decided to sell all his designs legal rites etc etc to the smooth twist and how it was going to revolutionise the shooting world ,
Needles to say I was very excited to receive my new .177 mk verminator , little did I know that .177 sub 12 smooth twists at that time were at best very inconsistent and would be accurate for so many shots then loose accuracy , it went back and forth to the distributer ( at the time asi) for just under a year , I ended up having Ben himself fully tune ,rebuild and service to the rifle , it ended up having a BSA barrel fitted , it then became one of the most accurate take downs id ever shot .
When the first run of impacts came out I made the mistake of buying one , talk about nightmare , now I never buy a new to market rifle , no matter how much I like it I will wait for at least 6 months , that way I get to find out if it's a dud or not .
I still use my mk2 rapid in .177 and my theoben Mfr in.20 , Ive had ltd grey shadow, Forrester, buckmaster all daystates , and the ltd edition mk2 r ten , and none were any more accurate than my old school rapids , I now own the two rapids , and a custom hw100 with 300 cc carbon mini bottle on , very similar to the livens custom hw100s ,I like the dreamlike compact tactical ,and I'm thinking of buying one , but that new r12 has caught my eye ,so it's a 12 month wait .

I am about to buy either a Falcon Optics ENDURA 3.5-25x56 B2GD FFP B252 MRAD Rifle Scope or a SWFA SS 12x42 MOA-Quad Tactical Rear Focus Rifle Scope to put on my Airtech R10. I recently bought a set of Sports Match 13mm mounts for my cheapo FFP scope and am getting sick of having to buy either 9-11 or 13mm for my different rifles. I was thinking of going down the Pic rail adapter but I am positive this is the way to go. Great content as usual.

Cheap aluminum, but they will work just fine. Espically on a pcp or a very low recoil rifle.

Hey Tommy, Great video again! You are going to have Chilly looking over his shoulder😀
How high did that lift the scope rail?

    • @tillysgunstocks
      @tillysgunstocks  ปีที่แล้ว

Hi paul, it's about 1cm of additional height on the riser rail. I'm really surprised at the quality of it,especially for the money. It doesn't have any built in angle,as it can be used either way around being something of a cantilever design. It brings the bore-scope heights much closer now between the 9015 and the katran too.
