That's what I figured... lol. Even when I don't know what a line means I feel like the camera angles always let me know what the character is saying is important to remember
@@catchingupkate so for samurai, if he lose fight he suicide, it's insulting to him to live after defeat , I guess it's japanese way , cultural perspect.
@@catchingupkate yea, the hat is a great hint. We know who gave Luffy the hat and now the strongest swordsman in the world recognized it. One Piece does that a lot
@@boneless931Zoro challenged him to a duel. Duels exist in the West too, so don't say nonsensical things like it's suicide. In the West as well, if you lose a duel, it's either run or die. Fed up with the 10 people liking this biased take.
Taz Skylar, the actor playing Sanji, had no previous knowledge of martial arts when he got cast. He started training for hours every day, up to eight or ten hours a day during pre-production! He did all his own stunts and by now he’s got two black belts and a blue belt in different martial arts styles. He also trained as a chef and would cook for the crew. That’s dedication!
It’s insane how much work Taz put into playing Sanji, even for Season 2. He has even said that he wants to do one of Sanji’s signature moves: the Full Table Kick Course. That move is possible to do but it’s difficult to execute.
I love hearing these details about the cast/everyone who worked on the shows 🥹. Just from watching and not knowing anything it seems to me like everyone took their roles/positions seriously and have a love for the original story
@@catchingupkate This is especially true for Mackenyu & Emily Rudd who play Zoro & Nami. They both grew up watching the One Piece anime, so this series is very dear to them. For Emily, it was a dream come true because Nami is her favorite character in the series. For Mackenyu, he went into the audition blind not knowing who he was playing & almost refused to be in it until he was told that he was auditioning to play Zoro, who was his favorite character in the series.
@@catchingupkate Craig Fairbrass (Zeff) got the role because Taz Skylar (Sanji) recommended him. He turns out to be the most 1:1 character of Zeff from the manga. The resemblance is just uncanny.
Mihawk's introduction is great, because it's such a curveball. At this point we've established a bit of a pattern; Luffy and company arrive at an island, befriend some locals, beat up a bad guy and get a new crewmember. But Mihawk illustrates that this world is a lot bigger than just our main cast. Luffy is a bit of a big fish in a small pond, and Mihawk is a glimpse of what the Grand Line is really like and the dangers they'll face. It's a bit of a reality check that their journey is just getting started and they have a lot to learn. I'm really happy with the set for the Baratie; in general this live action series investing heavily in physical sets is such a breath of fresh air when all these live action movies and series have so much CGI thrown in, and it makes you wish Baratie was a real place. I think the casting is great in general but sometimes it's just uncanny. Steven Ward just feels like he was born to play Mihawk and the character just stepped right off of the page. Looking forward to seeing more reactions!
The set pieces, yes! I am obsessed with all of them, I keep going back while editing and seeing all the small details in them and it's crazy the level of detail and care they took to make you feel so immersed in the world. I also really want Kaya's room! I also am fascinated by Mihawk, I took so many notes while editing episode 5 and talked about him a bit at the beginning of six when I was filming today. When he says he would still do whatever he wants to Garp, I believe him, but he still takes Garp's calls....
I actually didn't notice then but Iñaki and the show did a good job here to explain Lufy's thoughts and behavior about this fight, he actually didn't believe Zoro could lose. His face when he noticed how Zoro struggling with the fight and the scream Zoro in the end show how much Lufy can't believe what just happened
I have to say, the thing I love most about this show is the feeling. If you know the Anime or Manga, you clearly know that they changed a lot. BUT the feeling of the show and characters is captured nearly perfect. The Mihawk fight is one of the best examples. The setup is completely different, but the emotional payoff, as well as the implications this fight has for the crew and future, are basically the same.
This is my first experience with One Piece and I am so grateful! I have been indecisive for years on whether to start the anime or manga. The show has gotten me so immersed and everyone's excitement in the comments and helping me out has me so excited to start the manga once I finish the live action!
@@catchingupkate Nice... and when you are up to date with that in a couple of years (lol...), the new Anime should be avialable. If you didnt know, they also do the Anime again, starting from episode one. But without fillers and the typical Shonen Anime "One attack takes 3 episodes" stretched out pacing. Means when you are done its more then possible that you can also watch the new Anime weekly.
That would be perfect! I did hear they were remaking the anime and I am glad to see people are excited for it. I'll have to pace myself reading but if I film reading vlogs and sit down videos that should take me awhile 😂
You are very good at picking up the themes and understanding the characters psychology. You pay attention to the right things and provide a very insightful commentary. Looking forward to more reactions from you, not just of One Piece
Thank you so much 🥹. One Piece (and everyone who worked on the live action) deserve a lot of credit because I've been hooked and think about the show ALL the time
You said Zoro should just give up and try again, but that’s not how it works. It’s a duel to the death. Zoro was outclassed and defeated, so he decided to die with dignity, with no scars on his back. Mihawk spared him because he saw his potential, but that’s mercy and not according to the rules of the duel. That’s why Zoro is so disappointed in himself; he doesn’t want mercy-he would rather die. That’s why he cries and pledges to never lose again. He doesn’t want to feel like that ever again.
It's not that Zoro should have just given up, it's just that he should have had 2 brain cells and know he couldn't defeat Mihawk. It's like you're playing with the mc of a videogame for 5 minutes and jump stright to final boss, lol. Half of Luffy's crew (actually most of them but for a couple) are just big delulu, that's why my faves are secondary non strawhat charaters, lol XD I love them, but they're too delusional for my liking.
Was Zoro arrogant and prideful? Certainly. Was he unaware of Mihawk’s true strength? That’s also true. However, his attitude is largely understandable. In the manga, Zoro himself said, 'The world’s strongest can’t be this far away.' He didn’t grasp Mihawk’s true power until he faced him, as he and the crew had largely stayed within the East Blue, except for one notable exception. Moreover, Zoro showed commendable resolve by fighting to the end, despite being aware of his own limitations. While you can critique his delusions and overconfidence, it's important to remember that the line between bravery and foolishness is quite thin
One thing that the LA didnt do (small detail, doesnt matter) is that Mihawk actually wanted to attack Zoro from behind when Zoro was devastated. Its Zoro turning around and proudly accepted his fate that changed his mind.
Fantastic reaction! I’ve always felt that Zoro went through so many complex emotions in that last scene, just most of it is buried under his stoic demeanor. Sheathing his sword and letting Mihawk strike that blow was his own strange form of accountability. He challenged Mihawk to a duel to the death, and realizing he was soundly outclassed he owned up and prepared to die without any wounds on his back (a symbol that he turned to run or otherwise didn’t face things head on). I like to believe this gesture was one of the things that really caught Mihawk’s interest. That “magnificent” line was one of the first times we see Mihawk look like anything other than bored. Man just strikes me as languid and almost bored with the lack of challenge in his life. And after all the easily won fights, he finally sees this young upstart just might be something special not just with skill but his sense of character. Saying “magnificent” was perhaps the highest compliment he could have given in his eyes.
Thank you! After reading through comments and editing the episode I appreciate that scene and Zoro's actions a lot more now. I'm also very intrigued by Mihawk's character because he's kind of a wild card like Luffy to me
Every small detail, like the paintings, pictures, statues, labels, menu list etc contains easter eggs for fans 😁 And the dinosaur you saw, yeah it's an easter egg, and you'll know when you read the manga 😊 Honestly, the production team is soooo meticulous it amazes me! They really didn't need to do all those but they did!
god i was so happy that they absolutely nailed the introduction of mihawk. "i think zoro has some copmetition" yes exactly! i loved it in the original too. it opens up the world a LOT
I always like to imagine that Mihawk was listening to Usopp's drunken boasting and exaggerations for a good while, enjoying the stories. To someone of his strength, they're not that far fetched.
Yeah, you're gonna them tissues in the last remaining episodes. It has made many grown men cry. Whether you're new to OP or not, its one of the iconic moments in OP to make you at least tear up so get ready.
20:58 And trust me, the Warlords are no joke. To reiterate what Helmeppo tells Coby, the 7 Warlords (or Shichibukai in Japanese) are 7 incredibly powerful pirates who, in exchange for their bounties being frozen, have to assist the World Government & Marines with any issues that they need them for. If you continue with the series, you will meet all of them, and they all have major roles in the story. In fact, part of the reason why One Piece is as long as it is is because of Oda establishing the Warlord system. After establishing Mihawk as a member of the group, he felt the need to establish all of them. He didn’t plan them originally. He thought it would’ve been a cool detail for Mihawk. To avoid spoilers but give newcomers something to look forward to, I always call them by codenames or monikers, like how I call Mihawk “the Hawk-Eyed Man”. There is also the Desert King, the Heavenly Demon, the Tyrant, the Snake Princess, the Master of Shadows, & the First Son of the Sea.
Oooo I love that. I like that writing style too, it sounds like he's a bit of a "gardener" with his writing letting it grow and seeing where it takes him with an end goal in mind
"You're a little frog, croaking in the well" is Mihawk's (and Oda's) way of saying that they are still in a starting point as a crew, the world and Grandline is a big place, with powerful foes like Mihawk and more. Our crew needs to grow even more. Also, side note: I've been zooming in and reading the book titles behind you, and I like your reading taste a lot!
Luffy has 2 brain cells. The first brain cell is devoted to finding friends. The second brain cell is devoted to analyzing fights. When he's not in a fight and he doesn't have to look for friends, he instead is looking for food. Also, Garp's biggest flaw is his impatience. That coupled with his freakish strength and things have a tendency to collapse around him. Luffy isn't "unlocking" powers, he's learning how his powers work, basically increasing his moveset, and learning when and where those moves are most effective. He's basically been training how to use his body for a decade. Now that he's getting into real fights, he's learning what works.
It would be more accurate to say that the Warlords are 7 of the most infamous instead of the most powerful. Because while they are powerful that isn't necessarily a requirement.
@@catchingupkate It's more that the main function of the Warlords is to scare people away from becoming pirates. So, for example, a pirate with an extremely over-the-top reputation could become one, even if they don't necessarily live up to it. And conversely, even an extremely powerful pirate would need to have a reputation built up before they'll even be considered.
Garp couldn't stay for long when he visited home to see Luffy since he is a marine, he left Luffy in the care of the villagers at windmill village, hence why shanks calls him a street urchin with no family to speak of a few episodes ago... he had never seen Garp on the island and never saw Luffy with family, he was always hanging out in the towns bar before shanks influenced his admiration for pirates, which in turn led to Garp putting Luffy in the care of some more hardened acquaintances deeper in the woods of their island to toughen him up towards becoming a marine and keep him away from pirates.
23:33 So the live action doesn’t tell you his name but that guy is Gin, who was basically the second in command of Don Krieg’s crew. Those 50 ships he mentions that were taken out in the Grand Line? We saw who took them out: Mihawk.
Mihawk is such a cool and interesting character, and the live action did sych a great job of portraying him. The story plays out a little differently in the manga, but they understood his characterisation to perfection.
i was smiling a lot when watching this reaction! :) always makes me smile to see people smiling when watching one piece. the characters are so endearing that we can't help but root for them and their fun dynamics. prepare tissues for the next episodes! it's going to be a rollercoaster ride of emotions
Thats why One Piece is so good, you can rewatch the show and pickup new stuff that foreshadows a certain thing in the future, great job on picking up on the small details!!
I'm honestly surprised that I never hear anyone else seem to mention this, but a big theme of the manga is being willing to risk your life for your dreams and what you believe in, and one area where the live-action diverges is that it seems to have a major tendency to shy away from that theme. For example, one of Luffy's earliest lines is him pointing out that he's fully aware of the possibility of dying trying to find the One Piece, and he's perfectly fine with it if that happens. This fight is another major example of that, given all of the apparent suggestions that Luffy was in the wrong for letting Zoro fight Mihawk at all. In the manga, the duel was far more spur-of-the-moment, so there wasn't really an opportunity for Luffy to object anyway, but the fact that he didn't interfere despite very obviously wanting to because he knew how important it was to Zoro was what earned him Mihawk's respect.
I love your reactions so much! OP is one of these series made to make you FEEL, so never be ashamed of that. There are so many parts of the story where i've found myself smiling endeared and amused by there lovely characters and their dynamics
that was so cute. 😂 beginning of the episode "what is a warlord of the seas?" when zoro challenges mihawk: "don't! don't you know he's one of the seven sealords of the sea?!!"
Got to work this morning, went to put my phone in my locker, and saw the notification that you posted. And I had to wait 8 hours to watch it Great analysis at the end, and love your reactions during.
I know it can be frustrating to watch, but that was Zoro's duel. He asked for it, his honor as a swordsman and his dream were completely tied to it. Luffy nor no one else could've interveined without those being tainted. I agree with you that Zoro wasn't ready, he definitely wasn't, but just explaining why, once the duel started, Luffy didn't step in when it was clear that Zoro was gonna lose.
I'm loving your reaction. But more than anything else, i have to thank you for mentioning the duck races in Connecticut. I had no idea that was a thing, and my girlfriend and her daughter will love it if we can get down there for the next one.
Thank you so much! Hi neighbor :). We've been to a few and the one down there is the best, I think technically it's Stonington. Also I'm sure you already know about it, but the Bookbarn in Niantic is fun for kids (cats and goats) and adults and that's where I get most of my books second hand!
There are a lot of great things I could note about your reaction. But instead I'm going to focus on how I, a one piece veteran who picks out a lot of details from the live action, never noticed the dinosaur poster! Great catch.
"East Blue, Sambas region" "OK I'll just search a whole sea region, and "East Blue"? I'm a privateer, not a jet plane pilot, do you think I could cross half the world in a day if I wasn't there already? Any other pointers, vice admiral?" "...He's at Baratie" "I'm on my way"
I still don't know how I feel about the "coming of age" kinda spin they took with Luffy, especially his "attacks" - in the manga he is much more of a "overleveled" character in this part of the story, and he is well aware of what he does and can do with his abilities / during fights (not that he hasn't fun and tries things out, though much more for goofy fun) .
Fun fact: The actor who played Mihawk was a casting director who thought that they wanted him to cast someone for the part but they wanted him for it. Amazing call I say.
I really enjoy how well you already understand the characters just from the live action; can't wait to follow you through the anime! (edit) Also thank you for calling it a shellphone! 🤣 It's such an obvious and catchy name and I haven't seen any reactors catch that (it's not at all what they're called in the manga/anime, and that's disappointing as well)
Thank you! I can't take credit I believe a shellphone comment was made on the first episode 😂. I'll actually be starting the manga but I'll still make videos for them!
5:21 Fun fact: Zoro was heading back to the mansion but ended up going the wrong way, which is how he ran into Luffy and the marines, because Zoro has a terrible sense of direction.
@@catchingupkate In the anime, it wasn’t really until much later in the story until it was revealed that Zoro had a bad sense of direction. Instead, Luffy seemed to be the one with a bad sense of direction early in the story.
Thank you! Yes, I will be reading the manga once I finish! I will film reading vlogs and sit down videos, but I think I'll put them on my old book channel and focus on One Piece over there :)
@@catchingupkate one piece is filled with the best world building, foreshadowing, ect. You should check out a video called the breathtaking world of one piece. Now that you've seen this episode, I can FINALLY post this! 8) You mentioned the music earlier and I heartily agree with your love of this soundtrack. The Zorro/Mihawk battle was performed by an amazing kid from Poland named Marcin. He released a quick video of this solo that you can find below. If you like his work, check out his channel. It’s always insane that Zoro came up against someone like Mihawk so early. When you see the absolute monsters he is considered as strong as, probably top 5 in the world 😅
I think that Zoro immediately challenging Mihawk doesn't make much sense because of the stuff they cut out of his back story how kuina dying from falling down the stairs and her father telling Zoro humans are such fragile things. Someone he looked at as someone his superior and destined for greatness died in such a sudden and mundane way makes you think yeah I could die any second I need to do what I can in this moment
Yes, that does make a lot of sense, thank you! I'm really looking forward to reading the manga after I finish the live action to get the deeper story/lore
Luffy is all about following ones dreams but not so good at planning. He faces everything head on with all his heart. Maybe it wasnt the wisest thing to challenge mihawk but it would never cross his mind to disuade zoro from that path. Also honor is a huge part of luffys brand of pirates and swordsmanship. Luffy could not interfere no matter how he felt. Lastly when zoros 2 other swords were broken thats pretty much it. He uses 3 sword style so without them hes toast. Him proudly showing his chest proves his worth as swordsman and has the bravery to back up his word. It makes mihawk believe they are a fledgling group worth investing in.
I think the best part about this video is one particular insight you had and commented on that I'm not going to point out in specific. You are far too smart and I suspect you will draw spoiler-like inferences if I make a point out of it, but fans will know. Regarding Luffy letting Zoro do his thing.. it is worth noting that every person who joins the crew has their own reasons for joining. Their own dream. Sure, they are friends, but Zoro wants to be the strongest swordsman and Luffy wants to be the Pirate King. Luffy is not going to stand in the way of Zoro's dream any less than Zoro will stand in the way of Luffy's dream. A kid who hasn't seen the world and can't even swim wants to be the Pirate King? Luffy is even less capable of reaching his dream than Zoro is on an objective level; at least Zoro has spent his entire childhood swordfighting, but Luffy hadn't even been on a rowboat for a day before he managed to sink it and have to stash himself away in a barrel. A key realization is that they are pirates with dreams, and chasing those dream may come at the cost of their lives. Luffy understands this (although he comes really face to face with it in this episode) and Zoro understands this, too. In One Piece, dreams are not just fanciful things that serve as a nice goal, but truly things you'd be willing to die for to accomplish. Usopp's dream is to simply be brave enough to risk his life and overcome his own cowardice. As for Nami? She's complicated.
Aww thank you 🥹. I do miss a lot though that's why I love comments like yours helping me understand better. I guess I'm like Nami (from what I've seen) I am an older sister so when I see someone putting themselves in danger I care about I don't want them to 😂
When you read the manga-I gotta warn you, Sanji is more of the “comedic pervert” side of things than the live action’s “comedic simp” style. The author, Oda, definitely comes out of that ‘80s/early ‘90s pop culture, and started writing OP in ‘97. There’s an odd mixture of some really progressive ideas, but also some kinda dudebro/lad humor.
I appreciate the heads up and context :) If it's a good story (I know it is) I can put that aside. I really like Haruki Murakami and I think similar things have been said about his writing.
I think it's interesting to hear your opinion. I hope it's ok if I throw some things in there. One Piece is a work deeply rooted in Japanese philosophy, history , and mythology. To understand Zoro, you have to understand the moral codex of bushido. So his choice absolutely made sense and wasn't made out of nativity. Also to understand Luffy you have to understand that Luffy is never ever going in the way of the dreams of his nakamas or anyone he cares about not out of nativity (as well as Zoro) because 1. for Luffy getting your dream crushed is more hurtful than dying. To explain why this is, I would have to spoil the plot, which I won't gonna do. And the 2. reason is because he trusts them this much. So, in his mind, there is no reason to ever doubt them for a second.
@catchingupkate You are really welcome! I as well was blown away when I started to get deeper into the manga and anime 20 years ago and found out about all this stuff. Oda is a genius. A real genius by putting bits and pieces about history and mythology into his work so beautifully. Sprinkled by a lot of creativity. Not only will you find a lot of Japanese mythology but also from a lot of other countries as well. But still, it's so deeply rooted into its Japanese roots, which is sadly sometimes kinda lost in translation.
I just read Black Flags and Blue Waters by Eric Jay Dolin and it's all about privateers/pirates in colonial America. It was really interesting if you're into that! I also have his other book Rebels at Sea in my bookstack there and it's privateering/piracy specifically in the American Revolution
An old experienced pirate, almost at the age to be a Father, acknowledges an old hat, cares to ask about Luffy's dream.. 😅. Love your reaction, do you have any interest in reading the manga or watching the new version?
Wow I like your insight about between the young and the older. I love your reaction overall. And I love you as a person, you're really good person and super smart. I would love if we can be friend and hangout together ❤
You have to remember they still in East blue. It's the weakest in one piece universe. Strawhats need more experience if they need to challenge big names in the future😊
In One Piece world there is a central concept of ambition/conviction, someone who dream something especially dream as big as "Strongest Swordsman in the World" should not run from a "necessary battle". It is safe to say if he ever run then he will never achieve his dream. That's why Zoro said, "I feel like if I evade, something important like dream Will be lost forever". (I paraphrase the line) This ambition/conviction explain why Mihawk able to slash a large ship from far away, but I Will stop there, because it would be a spoiler.
@@catchingupkatealso the line Mihawk said after knowing Luffy's goal, "That's more threcherous path than defeating me". Also give a hint about concept of ambition in OP. In OP world there is only 0 or 100, there is no such thing in between. The fight between Zoro and Mihawk is meant to be happen, if he don't do that fight to prepare for another day, say goodbye to his dream.
I am seeing a lot of books,so you love reading i recommend you reading the one piece manga as it is 10x better than the anime which is 100x better than the live action and is also more detailed.Or you could try the anime if you watch animes.
Rubber duckies! You can't see in the picture but there is a course and 100's of volunteers who pick them up, dry them off, and count them all to reuse the next year :). It's a charity to raise money for the local schools and each rubber duck as a number on the bottom, local companies donate gifts and the first few duckies to cross win prizes
@@catchingupkate i see . cool. but when I saw the pic, i thought they were real live duck..I was mortified. LMAO. Btw, you probably one of few reactors that think it was a bad idea for Zoro to fight Mihawk at this time. Zoro is strong, but compare to Mihawk, he is nobody. The dude slashed a ship into half , from far away!
Now that you have met Mihawk, you should remember that there can be good Warlords and bad Warlords. Mihawk is one of the better ones, although closer to the middle because on the Good to Bad scale he is either 3rd best or right in the middle. That said, if I am rating the seven warlords on a good to bad scale, spoiler warning, I will do so below, not that the names will mean anything to anyone who doesn't already know. . . . . . . . Best to worst (Good vs Evil) 1 Bartholomew Kuma (Good) 2 Jinbei (Good) 3 Dracule Mihawk (Neutral) 4 Boa Hancock (Neutral) 5 Geko Moria (Evil) 6 Crocodile (Evil) 7 Don Quixoute Doflamingo (Possibly Satan?)
I'm going to read the manga after I finish the live action so thank you for the spoiler warning! I REALLY like Mihawk's character. When I was editing this episode I ended up having like a whole page of notes on things I want to say at the beginning of the next episode about him 🤪
@@catchingupkate Mihawk was a wake up call to the power scale of One Piece. If the Straw Hats had met one of the evil Warlords first, they would be toast right now. Now they have a better idea what they need to be ready for.
There's the individual 7 warlords who work for the government. But the top 4 strongest crews in the OP world are called "Yonkos" or "Emperors". They are in a completely different level. By the point we meet them, the show will be a completely different story. Some of the characters you initially hate with all your soul will end up becoming some of your favorite characters in all of fiction. In my own humble opinion, I've been watching OP for 20 years and I consider it to be the greatest story humanity has ever told.
I'd like to explain Luffy and Garp's relationship, but i cant do it without spoiling. Grandpa is kinda right about wanting Luffy to be a marine, but he also understands his desire of being a pirate as they have very similar personalities and they both value freedom. A good example is when he told Coby that he could have been a fleet admiral if he wanted to, but he'd have to give up his freedom. Nothing is black or white in this story. Its all grey. Good and evil marines, good and evil pirates and so on. I really hope you'll start reading the manga or watching the anime after you finish this cause you have no idea what you're missing on. If i were to compare, watching the live action is similar to watching Lord of the Rings until the fellowship leaves Rivendell. This world is wonderful, immense and very alive P.S. even though he hates that Luffy became a pirate, he's proud as hell of his grandson hahaha
Haha yes I noticed the freedom comment and the plate of steaks they both ate this episode 😂 ( and their Hawaiian shirts.) I tried to catch as much as I could to talk about in my wrap up but even me going back and editing the episode I have so many notes for the beginning of the next one! I will be reading the manga once I finish the live action! Thank you 💚. I talk a lot so I forget if I actually say things out loud or just thought it 😂. Filming Kate and editing Kate are like two different people
Random fact: The Don Krieg fight is severely cut down, but it's reasonable. In the original, Mihawk annihilates Don Krieg's fleet, but because of bad weather he manages to escape on his flagship and is then in hiding in East Blue because he's still being hunted by him. The starving guy who wanders into the restaurant and tells them about his armada getting annihilated is actually Dong Krieg's right hand, Gin. It all eventually leads to Don Krieg arriving at Baratie and intending to commander it, which eventually leads to the fight between Luffy and him. Don Krieg getting axed by Mihawk is honestly a fitting ending since he's the kind of guy for whom no tactic is too low.

@@catchingupkate it'll become clear at the end of this season why Mihawk comment on Luffy's hat.
@@Phanthief95if he puts his mind to it I’m fairly confident he’ll get it done in season two!
@@goodaimshield1115 maybe without that delulu someone can't have proper "ambition"?

Axe-Hand Morgan's son's name is Helmeppo!
Thank you!
In the Live Action his name is only said 1 time, by Koby in episode 4, but it's really really hard to catch it
Fantastic reaction!
I can't wait 😂. I'm so appreciative though because all the details truly make it such a fun experience
god i was so happy that they absolutely nailed the introduction of mihawk. "i think zoro has some copmetition" yes exactly! i loved it in the original too. it opens up the world a LOT
Definitely intrigued to keep meeting new characters 👀
I always like to imagine that Mihawk was listening to Usopp's drunken boasting and exaggerations for a good while, enjoying the stories. To someone of his strength, they're not that far fetched.
That would be hilarious 😆
I'm so confused with heavenly demon, until i changed it into " Celestial Demon ". Now i know who he is 😭🤣
@@naomikirisaki The Heavenly Demon is Doffy’s moniker.
I like how you can find dinosaur's meat cut guide on baratie. It's an easter egg. I just found it because of you.
Thank you! Funny enough, as I was editing I wrote that line down to talk about before the next episode!
"I hope there isn't any dolphin people" Hhahahah the implications
??? I didnt get that one. What am I missing?
I am scarred from watching THAT King of the Hill episode as a kid 😭
Well, you're absolutely right on there being no dolphin people.
mammals aren't fishs
Interesting. Mihawk did say it's not all about strength

Thats why One Piece is so good, you can rewatch the show and pickup new stuff that foreshadows a certain thing in the future, great job on picking up on the small details!!
thank you! I can't wait to rewatch and see what else I missed

I just got selfish about it, but I agree he had to

I still don't know how I feel about the "coming of age" kinda spin they took with Luffy, especially his "attacks" - in the manga he is much more of a "overleveled" character in this part of the story, and he is well aware of what he does and can do with his abilities / during fights (not that he hasn't fun and tries things out, though much more for goofy fun) .
Fun fact: The actor who played Mihawk was a casting director who thought that they wanted him to cast someone for the part but they wanted him for it. Amazing call I say.
Perfect call! I recently finished the Baratie arc in the manga and I thought he brought the perfect energy!

It’s always insane that Zoro came up against someone like Mihawk so early.
When you see the absolute monsters he is considered as strong as, probably top 5 in the world 😅
Makes me very excited to see what else it out there when I read the manga 😬
Just like to bring up. 6000 beri is not enough to pay for a year's worth of food. 6000 beri is like 60 dollars.
21:12 - The answer is yes, and yes again to your follow-up question.

Always okay to help fill me in on stuff, that's why I love having this channel. I appreciate the explanation, I'd never heard of bushido thank you :)

(I paraphrase the line)
This ambition/conviction explain why Mihawk able to slash a large ship from far away, but I Will stop there, because it would be a spoiler.
Thank you for the explanation :)
Get ready for tissues in next episodes
I watched it last night 😭
I am seeing a lot of books,so you love reading i recommend you reading the one piece manga as it is 10x better than the anime which is 100x better than the live action and is also more detailed.Or you could try the anime if you watch animes.
Thank you, yes I will be reading the manga after I finish the live action!
Get out tissues for next ep
I just finished filming like an hour ago 😭 (and I did remember the tissues this time)
11:43 Those were bath tub ducklings right? Not real ducklings right? For a moment there I thought they were real live ducks...
I'm sorry to scare you!
I was in big sister mode haha. I totally believe in Zoro but after seeing what Mihawk did to the ship I was nervous 😅

Best to worst (Good vs Evil)
1 Bartholomew Kuma (Good)
2 Jinbei (Good)
3 Dracule Mihawk (Neutral)
4 Boa Hancock (Neutral)
5 Geko Moria (Evil)
6 Crocodile (Evil)
7 Don Quixoute Doflamingo (Possibly Satan?)
@@smoothkiritoAnd even then, they’re still not going to be ready.
God, I wish Season 2 came out already!
That might be too spoilery
Be careful of spoilers, these comments while nice and insightful might be to spoilery for you.
Thank you! I try to acknowledge/thank people for taking the time to comment but I am skipping away from anything I think would be too spoilery
This isn't nothing just wait
There's the individual 7 warlords who work for the government. But the top 4 strongest crews in the OP world are called "Yonkos" or "Emperors". They are in a completely different level. By the point we meet them, the show will be a completely different story.
Some of the characters you initially hate with all your soul will end up becoming some of your favorite characters in all of fiction.
In my own humble opinion, I've been watching OP for 20 years and I consider it to be the greatest story humanity has ever told.
Thank you, I love hearing how long fans have been with this story, it makes me so excited to learn more 🥹
I'd like to explain Luffy and Garp's relationship, but i cant do it without spoiling. This world is wonderful, immense and very alive
P.S. even though he hates that Luffy became a pirate, he's proud as hell of his grandson hahaha
I think I'll post those videos on my old book channel and just focus on One Piece over there, but I'll make posts on this channel so everyone knows they are available :). And thank you!
@@catchingupkate yea, i saw your takes on it, i wrote the comment before watching the actual video 😂😂. Looking forward to your manga journey. One piece is something everyone should experience
That's too funny 😂
