This episode of Futurama has one of the BEST endings and morals of any common sitcom and of any adult cartoon on TV. It is not only heartwarming but it is thought provoking and doesn't screech about a topic while trying to bash the viewer over the head with a hidden agenda nor a blatantly beared agenda. Futurama is so much higher quality than many of the current adult cartoons the situation might not be funny, luckily Futurama still is quite humorous 😉😉. Too bad it's over ☹️☹️.
Better to have it end than to let it go on forever like Simpsons and Family Guy until it turns into an abomination that begs for the sweet release of death. I'm not looking forward to seeing Disney ruin it when they bring it back.
I’m an adopted son. I have wonderful parents, they gave me an amazing life and I love them so much. I still think of my birth parents from time to time, though. The first time I saw this episode I just said “Wow”, quietly to myself. Seeing Leela melt into Morris and Munda’s arms gave me serious goosebumps. Futurama is hilarious, but what makes me really love it is its huge heart.
Any other situation and two adults watching a child from the shadows would creepy regardless of relation, but this just brings me joy and sadness in equal measure, only in Futurama can this scenario be so heartbreakingly beautiful
You have to appreciate how Groening presented this. Goes from funny, "what does it say?"....."I don't know...but the paper....." to the sad flashback clip montage through the credits.

1:27 - 1:40 I love how Fry just stands back and watches, and looks so happy for them that they get to have this reunion. The way his hands move when Leela steps forward to hug them at 1:31… He's not thinking about how he helped make this happen, or how Leela's going to be grateful to him for this; he's just happy to even be present for this beautiful moment.
Such a great show. And it had the best finale episode of all time. Rarely finales are good, this show had the best one.
To heck with Roswell That Ends Well, Leela's Homeworld should've won that Emmy.
Also Luck of the Fryrish.
@Distant Echoes That episode was in 2001. Roswell and Homeworld were both in 2002.
Ummmm Jurassic Bark anyone?
@@brianchadwell2 Correct, but it was aired in 2003. Either that or Spanish Fry should've won that year. Leela's Homeworld should've won in 2002.
One of the best and most touching Futurama moments. Futurama really knew how to pull out your heartstrings. Amazing show.
This episode introduced me to pizzicato five almost 20 years ago
This is what I love about Matt Groening's work. It's silly and funny, but there's also a huge heart behind it all.
The only BBFC U rated episode in the series.
Yo you know it's wholesome asf when it's got bender going aww
Bender has always has a soft spot for families ❤
I bet it was really hard for Tress MacNeille(Munda) and David Herman(Morris) to do this scene. By the way, David was on fire in this episode. Poor guy never got the respect he deserved.
1:43 I love this as it shows that bender isn’t a heartless robot
One of the best shows ever
I was way too young as a kid to watch Futurama and this show definitely traumatized me lol, but I remember this scene always leaving such a huge impression on me. Even at 23 I rewatch this and start crying 🥲🥲🥲🥲
This episode was soooo sad, I couldn’t help but cry when you found out they were watching over Leela as she grew up, they gave her up but couldn’t give her up completely, it’s sad yet so happy to see
This episode of Futurama has one of the BEST endings and morals of any common sitcom and of any adult cartoon on TV.
That ending is so wholesome
So is the voice acting. The Turanagas should’ve split an Emmy for this episode.
Even Bender was touched
Leela had her mom's looks and her dad's arms and legs.
they were always there for you Leela even if you didn’t see them 🥹
If anyone is wondering the name of the song it’s called “ Baby love child “ Its one of my favorite songs and it’s technically not even a real song
Remember first time I seen this I didn't know how fucking emotional it was as a kid know I'm 21 and shit hits home
Futurama was such a treasure, as was early 2000's TV in general. :')
Like 8 Simple Rules and Sons of Anarchy. Both shows star Leela’s voice actress Katey Sagal.
Any other situation and two adults watching a child from the shadows would creepy regardless of relation, but this just brings me joy and sadness in equal measure, only in Futurama can this scenario be so heartbreakingly beautiful
Watching this as a kid really made me tear up, this show definitely had great moments.
I like how even Bender was moved.
Which just goes to show that somewhere under that hollow body he has a heart
The highlight in the end was so sad and beautiful too.
I dunno why but this made me really tear up....damn.
2:10 and that ladies and gentlemen is way animators rarely show characters feet while walking
I dunno it seems pretty decent to me
@@xxamightystormxx its good for the usual but feet from the front are awkward when drawing
you just know that Morris and Munda want Fry as an a son inlaw
Awwww she thought she was alone, but they were always there.
this made me cry man. the love of my life passed after we had a baby girl. i hope she can do these kind gestures from heaven for her 😇
You have to appreciate how Groening presented this. Goes from funny, "what does it say?"....."I don't know...but the paper....." to the sad flashback clip montage through the credits.
This was my most favorite heartwarming moment it honestly broke me but I’m so happy she found her parents ❤
Man I miss this show. I suppose it's time for a rewatching
At least it didn’t get milked like The Simpsons. Tress MacNeille(Munda) still works on that show too.
I’ma grown man and this ending makes me cry every single time.
