I was on when the Strange Power happened. At first I thought someone had used a weird item or spell on me, and I was like "Stop that" Then I saw everyone else also being confused, and joined in on the confusion as well.
The only one I experienced was the strange power event. And I still count myself lucky of being there. It was madness. I just became a free player again after my first month of membership. I was training smithing at the Al Kharid furnace and suddenly, there it was. Everyone went flying and it also had a creepy sound. Then, total panic began. People there went crazy and were so confused. Nobody expected for anything to happen like this at all. I remember immediately calling my friends about it that something was going to happen very soon. The players thought that something special and unannouced was starting right at that moment. Everyone knew a new skill was about to come. A lot of people were stopping what they were doing and were indeed immediately focused to get answers. The forums were indeed overloaded and I now remember that orb of oculus myth again hahahahah. Personally, I loved these teasers and it shows how curious and determined the players can be to find out the Runescape secrets. Quest teasers were very common and I remember people sharing their hints on various forums. The Darkmeyer quests were indeed loaded with teasers and it was interesting to see what slightly changed after every update to build up the update expectations. Very well done on the documentary again, I really love watching these. It is very interesting and sometimes forgotten Runescape content that is delivered in a very entertaining video!

Jagex should have taken the laughing ghost girl bug and turned it into some future content. It could have been used for that year's Halloween event, for an example. A secret title given to the first person to not only find the by then actual npc in-game, but by completing a list of tasks that gets progressively harder (and more deadly) as you check it off. Howbeit in order to find her, you must meet several rather big requirements (have obtained the Completionist and Master Quest Cape) as you accidentally let loose the little ghost girl when you replayed Broken Home. What lies comp knowledge, on her to-do list is a set of fearsome monsters that you must besten but without using and by exactly using specific set of items. Upon completion, you would be rewarded with the title "The Apparitionist" (changing colour depending on time of day-works with skyboxes) along with a set of ghostly apparel that can in fact turn you invisible (doesn't work in wildy or any other pk-related locations of course) as well as unlocks all previously unowned ghostly robes. Furthermore you would get a pet in the shape of the little girl but turned into her freed form, whereas if you talked to her she would start laughing as she did in the Tower of Voices, but it would fade this time and ultimately turn into her crying. If you however hand her the 'creepy doll' from Mod Ryan's Trading Sequence, then she would turn back into herself and start giggling and laughing again. You would at this point be able to talk to her about how she died in the first place, and get to know about her previous life and family.

They could do an event like rift had. There was a world-wide battle that started where you had to defend the city and then kill the leader. Something like that would get people fired up. But I want something like this on osrs
I continuously talk about how this is how updates should be leaked. That coming RS3 update - Rex Matriarchs. They leaked all the drops and loads of other info. Wish they'd just drop a teaser like NPC's asking if Dag Kings still the leaders of combat triangle, or some shit. I miss the drawn out hype. Unfortunately though, the community is too aggressive and hateful when something is underwhelming.

I remember back in the day youtube was mad with videos of it and people saying it was Sailing being teased, but everyone wrote it off as a hoax As I was relatively young and very low level, I wasn't involved in questing or anything like that, so I never actually realised it was solved as being a quest... So to this day, I thought it was a hoax. Wow.
Goes to show how notoriously difficult it is to please a bunch of gamers... they always find something to cry over. Instead of just being grateful for devs to come up with new content and try out new ways to comunicate.

I know exactly what you mean! I tried the game few years ago and didn't play much because of the graphic. But I start playing again last year on runescape3 (not old school) with steam release, the graphic has improve a lot. It is free if you want to give a try

I dislike how the community turned on Jagex for cool reveals and sneakpeeks, totally annoying. I know for a fact that people just wanted free shit, and when they got nothing, even though content updates and stuff are free, aside from the membership paid every month. So sad, cause Jagex, compared too a lot of these big companies these days, are actually one of the only good companies left in the gaming world.

Jamflex has been terrified of updates since EoC. Basically the whole reason osrs community voting exists and why the rs3 content team is so active on social media and the forums. No more fuck ups. They will still fuck up balancing, the report system, and overbearing microtransactions but all the content itself has been pretty legit.
Jagex should, and I hate to say this, but take notes from Fortnite. Have you seen some of the live events that take place in that game? They're absolutely incredible what they do sometimes. Of course, I doubt if Runescape was nothing but a black hole, not letting you get into the game for 3 days fans would be a lot less ok with that
@@rswillmissit You should take a look at some of the earlier live events done in Fortnite, love or hate the game you gotta admit the quality and scale of some of the live events they pull off are quite impressive. Look up the "Fortnite Butterfly Event", that one was pretty insane. And the best part about how they do them is they almost always have some sort of indicator of when the live event is going to happen in-game.
Did you forget when all the trees in runescape grew faces and started crying green tears with the release of The World Wakes? Or does that fit in a different category?
