- This april fools documentary investigates how Andrew Gower in 2003 put together a team to come up with a way to make the game appear more active for the release of RuneScape 2. What the team came up with would go on to fool millions of players for nearly two decades - all until one team member stepped forward and shared the story about the secret player accounts; modcoys.

If you stretch out all the letters of Mod Mark like wire, you can't make Zezima because it has an i, but if you cut one letter down to just a dot, you're left with only 6 letters and a dot for the i.
Your theory was good, but I feel conspiracy theories need to be massively stretched out and contrived in order to be credible, its sorta like Area 51, of course an insanely remote base in the desert with tons of huge buildings and hangers isn't good enough to do alien research, you also need an massive advanced underground complex with entrances hidden with holographic projectors, ya know? lol.

This is an incredible April fools. I watched the whole video believing it all. Its only when I scrolled down to comment about Mod Mark's great work ethic that I saw comments pointing the joke out. For half an hour straight you had me. Very well done, sir.

Just imagine all the amazing screenshots/footage that Zezima has from those days. It’d be cool to hear all his stories one day. I have kept a screenshot of him in my friends chat for years lol.
Back in rs2, when dragon defenders came out, I was right outside the doors to the cyclops area. I recall hopping to a few different worlds before finding one that wasn't too crowded, and bam, Zezima was just standing right outside the entrance. I tried talking to him and he actually responded, I don't remember exactly what was said but just small talk really. Then a good couple minutes later the area exploded with other players and he logged out/hopped worlds. It was pretty cool. I had a hypercam video of it saved on my laptop but unfortunately it stopped working. I think I have that hard drive in a box somewhere still, maybe I'll try to find it and get the data recovered some day. It'd be interesting to watch because it was so long ago. The exact date and year I can't recall however, but it was the day of or after d defenders were released on rs2 so it'd probably be easy to figure out on the wiki.
Anyway, this entire video I was wondering if that had been mod mark the entire time till I saw all the comments pointing out the date. It had me going the entire time, not gonna lie.
Man that was an amazing video with a really interesting theory that now has me questioning my entire RuneScape playtime.

Wow, I didn't even realize this was an april fools video. Shows how convincing a BS conspiracy theory can be from when its presented by a "trusted narrator" and has everchanging pretty pictures as linked evidence.
All documentary content should be taken with a grain of salt. Especially around charged topics. There's more vegan propaganda documentaries than I can count...Someone saying something confidently isn't proof they're correct.

WOW, please don't be an April Fools thing because this was so well thought out and done that it actually makes sense. Especially the Drumgun/Gnome theory. Its odd they would put a snippet in the OSRS Timeline and the gnome being part of it, even though zezima didn't win that year. ODD. I just got back in to runescape after quitting over a decade ago to the removal of free trade, and I've been binge watching your videos, and I have to say that you had me going until about 10 minutes in I was like "wow this is insane there is absolutely no way he's alluding to zezima being a..." wanting to spoil the ending and read the comments, I noticed the date it was uploaded and had an extremely hearty laugh. My favorite email to jagex was me asking if they'd ever make runescape 3 (in fear of change) around 2004-2005 and they said "No, we are currently happy with runescape 2 and have no future plans to upgrade the game to a "runescape 3" in the future" and here we are XD

I know about RS as my kids grew up playing, I had the general idea of how it all works and plays. Ultima Online is where I spent many many hours. I recently discovered you channel and have been watching a lot of your videos. That being said, I had no clue that this video was all a joke. I watched it all finding it interesting as you researched and the conclusions you made. This is probably the one of the most well-done April Fools ive ever seen. Everyone knows Zezima was actually that supercomputer chess AI Deep Blue! It was sad to see the AI sit and waste once it was retired from competition, so they taught it how to play RS!

If this weren't april first I'd say you could easily confirm it by running a stylometric analysis on both of their speech patterns, the patterns and word usage in human speech are so unique it'd be all but conformation that zezima is mod mark

My theory is this: Zezima is an account played by multiple senior jagex employees in turns. And they are not allowed to disclose the fact.

I saw and talked with Zezima for a tiny bit years back at Runespan. He was pretty quiet but mentioned watching football(soccer) for a bit. Seemed like an all right dude. I can't remember if he actually typed soccer or football though.
I knew going in that it was April 1st. I did the Runescape balloon event before going to sleep last night. I wanted to hear jokes. I see you threw the balloon event in the video yourself. Nice touch.

Zezima is a pretty chill guy. Bankstood with him in Edge skilling with some old cc members shortly after RS3 came out. Long gone the days when hundreds of noobs would follow him around the game with flash2:wave1: scripts extending off screen. It was kinda chill just having him offer tips and shoot the breeze with maybe five or six of us total.
