I just bought a Brera...my first Alfa....so i'm currently watching everything Alfa.....never realised how beautiful the cars are until I bought one.

Awesome! I visited the old Alfa collection while living nearby in 2001. It was hidden in some remote part of the Arese facility, you had to ask for the way. Once inside, I felt like a 6yr-old in a candy shop. 🤗
Been there back then too. It seemed like a warzone there at the time... The Arese plant is no more, but I'm happy that the collection is being taken care of.
UNBELIEVABLE, I'm open-mouthed, this is a lot of information to digest. Thank you so much! As soon as the door opened and the Procar was there, it was obviously going to be fantastic. That thing was shown at Monza on the weekend of the 1988 F1 race, the noise of the V10 was something else. So many hidden treasures in this video. I need to go to Arese, mecca of the alfisti.
I’ve purposely waited till I got home from work to watch this and my god it was well worth the wait . Like a hyperactive child with ADHD I was wide eyed and did not blink in fear of missing something special . I think I’m just going to watch it all over again . Plus I just noticed I have dribbled down my chin 🤤

Your heart is at a good place my friend, Alfas are distinct machines, no other manufactorer has created automobiles with so much passion. If you don't own one, get one. I do.

Last summer I was in north Italy for holidays. One day I sent the wife and girls to Milan for shopping and I went tonthe Museum. I had the greatest day ever, what a beautiful collection!
Thank you so much for sharing this. I went to the museum back in 1988 and absolutely loved it. To see so many more Alfa treasures is wonderful. Hopefully one day I can make it back to Europe and visit both the museum again and this wonderful treasure trove. Best wishes from New Zealand.🇳🇿🍀❤️

It is much, much better now, and I’m very happy it’s being managed with real passion and competence
The red Alfetta GTV6 3 litre was built by Zagato has a ZF front mounted gearbox that is why it has a large centre tunnel,the 75 Turbo Imsa is the ultimate evolution of the 75 Turbo Evo,with coil overs , special adjustable de-dion suspension on which the ES30 Zagato was based on.
For the person who put dislike. Im sorry your german car dont have such history. Greath colection, but damh that 164 pro car is too damh se y.
German car don't have such history? Really?? Come on man, I'm an Alfisti myself but maybe you should check out let's say Mercedes-Benz' history, for starters

By sheer coincedence I read an article about the Montreal this very morning. It's in the present issue of dutch magzine "De onschatbare klasssieker" (The priceless Clasic). That white prototype must then have been one of the 2 which where actually shown on the Montreal World Fair. Then it will however have a small Guilia (?) engine. Very rare indeed. I must say that to my taste Alfa Romeo is the only brand that regularly seems to hit styling highspots during the last decades. If only I wasn't so attached to my XM. Oh, and the Coupe Fiat has also been tempting. It's too small to be practical for my freight hauling antics but stylingwise: Olala! Especially the yellow one! Vrooom! But I degress. :-)
Yes the two prototypes had Giulia Ti engines. Both still exist, but one was used in period for development work of the production Montreal, and it doesn’t get shown because it’s rather worse for wear now.

I’ve been in touch with the people at Arese who take care of the Museum and, while they’re slow in responding to my e-mails, I’ve seen they are true enthusiasts that love Alfa and its history. The collection is in good hands.

6:19 I own a 75 QV fom 1990. And I bought it with the possibilty to buy anonther black one, this one truely original with the original first paint. But I decided to buy the other black one with a great new paint job (far better than the poor thin first paint from the Arese production time), but all details on the car were black (only except for the trimlines in dark grey)! In my opion perfect! I decided to be the owner of one with the best look for this centro stile design (for me it is if the body paint is on all parts, especially the plastic ones) and I was so glad to see, that the last 75 was painted in the same way with all around body paint even on the bumpers (sadly with the coverage we can not take a look at the side mirrors). Thank you for this information gift. A great video. In this times, in which all cars were only badge carriers, it´s so sweet to look at design of this caliber in all kinds of variety. What a marque!! I did not realise that any other car attempted the Cape Cold to Cape Hot run other than an Austin. This was undertaken in the early 50s. One of my prized possessions,from childhood, I still have the paperback book.

The GTV6 Proto has been built on Alfa 6 floorplan (with the gearbox at the front and De Dion suspension). The engine is 2.5 V6

The 164 Procar was probably made for the same series as the 3,5 liter BMW M1 Procar that ended up in a cool one make series as an opening act for, you guessed it! Formula 1!
As far as I know, the M1 Procar one-make series had nothing to do with the proposed Procar championship Alfa looked to participate in.

Wow! What a wonderfull video! Thank you very, very much for filming it and sharing on TH-cam, I really find it very interesting and I've ask myself why the Montreal or Navajo -among many others- aren't on the permanent exposition.
The Navajo and the Cuneo should be displayed together with all the other 33-based prototypes, in my view. But it’s tough to make such choices, when you’ve got so many cool stuff to play with!

Thank you! Yes, I'll keep pestering the museum's curators about that car, I'm very interested too! The console is much taller and has elements from the Alfa 6, the front seats are from a Spider, I've recognized them... There are legends about that GTV6, but I want to be sure about everything before I put that info on video!

Thank you very much! The Alfa virus is the strongest of them all. There’s no cure, but thankfully it’s not lethal :)
Jokes aside, yes, for the time being you need a face mask to access the museum and observe social distancing measures. Things in Italy are thankfully under control now, but caution is needed.
Saw the 159 Alfetta running at Phillip Island in 2010, I've fettled a Scuderia Ferrari 8C 2600 Monza in a workshop where a young Daniel Ricciardo was working on his Go Kart, also had the privilege of visiting the Arese Museum a few years ago. Would love to return and see inside the vault. Interested to know if they want a youngish, enthusiastic guy to help restore/prepare the cars? I'll bring over my 1750 GTV race car from Australia if they're interested. Just came across your channel and loving it.

You book by contacting the museum via e-mail. I guess they can offer the guided tour in English, but I haven’t asked, so I’m not sure.

Yeah, the Diva was very much a precursor to the 4C. With the V6, it sure must have been a great drive!

The red one is the 4C motor show concept car, while the blue and yellow ones beside it are production 4Cs

The bright red gtv at 4:30 has spider seats and a zender looking body kit. Interesting why they put spider seats in it.
That car is a mystery. I’ve inquired about it there and in two separate e-mails, but I never received a reply. One day I’ll go there and research that car properly!

Grazie! Quindi confermato che è “119” sotto, quindi con cambio ZF anteriore. Sono curiosissimo, difatti ho chiesto di poter fare una ricerca in archivio su quella macchina.

Molto dipenderà anche dalle guide, oggi ha spiegato tutto di questa GTV senza esitare, per questo non capivo il mistero riguardo l'origine di questa vettura nel tuo video.
