What great finds....So lucky you got some actual history along with your treasures..!!!! You can style anything from what I have seen you do so far....You are very talented...Bravo..I loved your haul!!!
I'm catching up on your videos since I've recently found your channel and oh my goodness, how wonderful to meet the owner and be able to spend some time with her and hear her stories and the actual history of the items you scored! I love old people, they are so fun and it's neat to see the sparkle in their eyes as they take a trip down memory lane! You have such an eye for the good stuff and I love every video I've seen of yours! I pray you are doing well. Hugs from Mississippi!
@3PICTUREPERFECT Thanks!! That's why I love vintage too! It's so unique and very good quality.....I bet not many modern designers could make a piece that would last this long!! :)
I absolutely love, love the brown velvet vintage top you got with the flare wrists and it has a white V-like drapping blouse underneath. I adore that piece to bad I couldn't buy that at some store. That's why I love vintage clothing because the clothing you can't just go and buy from any store and plus the clothing is sooooo unique and different, but beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing your haul, Candy :)
I am so glad a younger person appreciates history I do as well but am not small like you kuddos great finds and a great home for all of these i am sure the owner was thrilled.
Wow you weren't lying! This was definitely the best vintage haul yet. Too cool that you got to talk to the owner and have tea! Please try and take a pic or do a video of you in that dress you plan to wear to the Christmas party.
Hey there! Your lace is cut work, circa 1900. Very well done! It was sold in bolts or square yardage via samples.lots of ladies did their wedding veils and maybe a truseau piece from this beautiful stuff. I actually have a piece made from the sample squares, including a blank square you could embroider yourself that was never done! I love orphans. Great find hon. Oh, your swing coat with roll collar was called a Lady Coat! First adult coats a child could wear over a dress which would take her into adulthood! Score, epic epic score! The roll kept it all together despite fidgety ten year old fingers. Lady coats give the very best swing.
Lol. I SO love watching your videos! You are the ONLY person who, when I'm watching their TH-cam videos...I find myself not being able to help trying to respond to you and talk back to you when you say something or ask a question! I get so into it, I forget that it's just a video!! Not such a good thing when there are other people around who realize you're watching a TH-cam video. Hahaha!
OMG I can't believe it..The pieces are just lovely. If i was there i think i would have bought everything she was selling because for that price i wouldn't be able to help myself.....LOL Great haul...
great finds!! I would love to be able to find vintage clothing [I love 1950 style dresses] Do you find these at estate sales?? Awesome that you got to talk to the owner & hear her stories of the items!!
Selena! I can't believe I missed this amazing video! I'll bet Ms. Doris was just as delighted by you as you were her. What a fabulous seamstress. Also, why aren't you publishing your music? I'd buy!!! Your voice is so rich.
@Txjane Yeah, I am so excited about all of the pieces!!! I wanted to try them on for the video, but I had to wear a dumb heart monitor this week and had cords all over the place :( I cannot wait to rock that evening dress, it's so pretty!
Have you ever thought of pitching a show idea to HGTV? You are a natural on camera, you know a lot about the clothes and jewelry and furniture pieces you get, and you are fun and interesting to watch! You are one of my favorite “shows”!
The Little Farm thank you so much!!! Yes, my friend and I are actually launching a project this summer in hopes it will get picked up by a network!!! I can’t wait!
Ughh I seriously started drooling...if you ever wanna swap I am totally down! I will have to do a video of some of my favorite vintage finds! Can't wait to see how you style everything!!!
@kerry7703 Yeah, she had a HUGE closet full of goodies, but these were the only ones she wanted to part with right now. I hope she calls me back in the future :)
Selena! I love that this episode you had found your natural presentation voice, but your set up and lighting was lagging behind the curve. :-) Please maybe, in this time of Covid...if you have even one of these pieces still in your collection...include it/them in a new styling video? Pleeezzze Cheers, Linda

The way to tell a real pearl is to rub it against your teeth. It will feel rough, almost sandy where a faux pearl will feel smooth, slippery.
