I like how this scene closely goes with the theme of the song “Everything Stays”. We are still the same people we were when we were younger, but over the course of our lives we change but by bit, until eventually we’re almost unrecognizable; our memories, our ideals, our bodies, nothing stays the same forever. That sense of impermanence and uncertainty can be utterly terrifying, but it’s healthier to accept it and move forward, rather than to chase after the past.

As a kid I thought Jermaine was the third brother who was against all fun, kinda a bit like Squidward. Now I realise he’s a pretty mature and talented artist who, in spite of him not appearing that much times in the show, cares for his brother Jake and adoptive brother Finn, while having the responsibility of tending to their father’s items and trinkets.
I mean, his first appearance pretty much depicted him as a squidwardesque character, until he let go of his fathers stuff and learned to become his own person. Dude went through a character arc between his first and second appearance. Kinda a shame we never got to see more of him.
Kinda reminds me to me with my little brother, it was different because we are 5 years apart in age, but now me being a 25 years old and him 20, i feel like i can help him and understand him more, i love my Lil bro, and i'm happy to be there for him and do silly stuff

Again I am not saying that this whole space dad story was planned since that season, but the mud theory itself it is just a what Jake perceived his power’s origin to be.
I like Jermaine because he's so grounded compared to the rest of the wacky world of AT. Just his presence has a way of bringing the whole scene down to earth, so he can drop some real talk to those who need it most - whether his brothers or us, the audience.
I just had a moment where I realised how this show went from a Saturday night monster of the week type of show to philosophical thoughts about identity, the meaning of life and going beyond to find something greater, the ice king being a creepy pervert until we find out he’s a depressed man who lost everything he held close to his heart and watch the world die and Prince bubble gum being a basic kidnapped save the lady character becoming a very deep individual with emotions and ideals AND being one of first lesbian couples in cartoon TV shows (that I know of) and that no one saw when it first came out and the whole wonderful land of Ooo being the result of a NUCLEAR FALLOT WITH BASICALLY THE EMBODIMENT OF DEATH A NOTHINGNESS LEADING THAT FALLOUT MAKE THE WORLD HELL FOR A SORT TIME LEADING TO ALMOST EXTINCT OF HUMANITY AND WANTING TO END, END ITSELF………. 100/10 I mean it this show was wonderful and god dame creative as hell with world building and character development god I need to watch through the whole show.

I can't believe how a fictional dog can explain how I feel about wanting to be transgender better than I'll ever be able to explain, the more you deny it, the more painful it can feel, but when you look at it. The better you feel, the more you realize how you are yourself no matter what.
I was just thinking about that. I mean, I'm no transgender, I consider myself cis, but watching this I realize how perfect it is for someone that needs reassurance about how they perceive themselves and accepting that it's ok to change. When you finalize realize that it's ok to change, you'll know that you've been yourself this whole damn time. Hope things are a little bit clearer for you.
